Thanks for the very informative video. Very thorough and went over removing a lot of panels that one normally wouldn't remove for a simple dashcam install. Your method, although it takes longer, allowed for much better cable management instead of simple tuck jobs into crevices. Used your guide to install my 2-channel dashcam and some ambient lighting to my sunroof.
Thanks for showing the disassembly of the glove box! This is fantastic. If you're still checking this account, when you were down there, did it look like there was sufficient room for a dashcam battery pack? The thing's about six inches long, five wide and 1 to 2 high.
I have a 2019 BMW X4 (G02) and wish to install the RedTiger F7N dashcam with hardwire kit. Which fuses are recommended for Parking mode? I did a Honda civic recently and that was "door locks" and "accessory" fuses (plus earth). Not as much info on the BMW. I've also seen ODP power adaptors on amazon.
So I should spend a couple of hours to disassemble the interior of my car to get power for my radar detector or just use a mirror tap and be done in 10-20 minutes. I choose Door #2.
@@johnp999 You can follow this guide, it's very informative and thorough. You can get away with removing a lot less panels while installing your dashcam, but this method, although more time consuming and involved.. allows you to cable manage better, give you more room for installation, and keep your headliner from creasing and bending. If you want to save some time, I suggest just removing just the A-pillar to route the cable behind the curtain airbag.
