I know you must have fitted yours quite some time ago, but for SAFETY REASONS check if your windscreen pillar has an airbag. If it does, and you ran the cable over it like the guy did in this video, please take the time to run it around the airbag. In the case of airbag deployment, you will either get a cable in the face at 150+mph or it may hinder the deployment. There's a great "hardwire dashcam" video by ChrisFix where he explains this at the 20min mark.

There's a reason they tell you never to obstruct the airbag. If the airbag deploys it will shoot that cable at the passengers at 200 mph. This install is incredibly dangerous in any vehicle with side curtain airbags.

Not a good idea to cross the a-pillar trim as the curtain airbag pushes out from underneath this trim. Crossing the a-pillar is very likely to interfere with airbag deployment. You should take the a-pillar trim off and secure the cable such that it can’t interfere (keep it on the forward side of any part of the airbag). At a minimum, see if you can tuck it between the windshield and the a-pillar trim, NOT the door side of it.

Omg thanks dude. I was doing what ur friend did, but couldn't get the stuff to stay on especially in the cold. Just got a little bit of wire to tape down and then I'm solid.
I just purchased a 2025 Kia Seltos and decided i wanted a dashcam. after getting one my wife complained about wires everywhere. did a quick search and this video popped up. the wire tucks in nicely along the top and part of the side. until the part near the door, i didnt want to pry it apart so i went along the weather stripping along the door and about midway, the weather stripping looks like it is attached to the frame, so i used electrical tape and held it firmly along the sides, then under the dash on the passenger side. overall i think it looks great and is mostly hidden. the excess wire i just tucked under the passenger side dash where the glove box is and used extra electrical tape for now. ill see how it holds, but now that we know what it possible i think wife will be satisfied with this solution. thanks!

Very nice thnk you! I had visions of a horrible cable hanging from my windshield lol therefore I wasnt installing the dash cam that my partner gave me when he gets home it will be installed and he will be one happy man. thank you
Don't follow this advice. The wire goes OVER the curtain airbag. If airbag gets deployed, the cable will pop out, and with the airbag speed, it may pull the camera with force and hit you or something, and you may have a liability issue. The correct way is to remove the A-pillar trim, and put the cables so that they go below the airbag (there are usually other cables there you can follow), and don't get in the way. Be carefull because A-pillar removal, in some cars, should be done with care. Some have some "snaps" tethers that if you pull too hard, they break, and you have to replace them. Check for other videos on how to do that, it can be done without breaking them. But don't be lazy and do it like in the video. It's stupid.
This was perfect! I couldn’t figure out how to take the panel off the side to tuck the wires in before the cigarette lighter so I just hid it under my all weather mats 😅 no dangling cables! Thanks Do you have a video for how to hide the rear camera cable??
Man! I don’t know anything about cars other than I like driving nice ones, lol. Just picked up a new one and got a cam but was going to have it professionally installed. This video gave me a ton of confidence. Took me 15 minutes though! 😂 Thanks!
That was awesome, I wanna route a cable from digital speedometer to the cigarette lighter socket in the boot (leaving the interior one free), probably won't be easy though.

Thank you!! I been searching high and low for a good vid that clearly showed how to hide the cables. Found it really easily too install, although I wasn’t too anal about the cords along the bottom of the glove box so I just hid it under the floor mat. Thanks heaps :)
This is okay if you are using the quick connect, I was looking for running the hard wire, (actually 3). 2 to the trunk, and 1 to the rear camera, But I'm trying to decide if I should go across the top, or along the bottom. I'm thinking of just running it through my headliner using fish wire (staying clear of the sunroof of course) then down my C pillar to my fuses in my trunk. And for the rear camera just pull it out of the headliner by my rear camera. (2008 Chrysler 300C).
Useful video. Y'day I bought a navman MiVUE750 WiFi. This helped to hide the wire code. Otherwise it would have been really messy in my car. Thank you for sharing this tip.
I was going to hire a pro to do it, after watching this video it seemed east enough for me to do myself. Sure enough half an hour later the wire seamlessly blends into the door panel and console.
I dont mean to be so offtopic but does anyone know of a tool to get back into an instagram account?? I stupidly lost my account password. I would appreciate any tips you can give me
@Salvatore Trey i really appreciate your reply. I found the site through google and im waiting for the hacking stuff now. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will reply here later with my results.
Correct me if I am wrong. You have installed the wiring over the SRS curtain airbag. This will interfere with the deployment of the airbag and may be a safety issue.
PLEASE FOR SAFETY REASONS DO NOT FOLLOW THIS VIDEO BEFORE READING THIS: This guy runs his cable over an airbag causing a pretty serious safety issue!
Yeah let’s just block that side curtain air bag with our dash cam wires brilliant! Natural selection at its finest
Omg thanks dude. I was doing what ur friend did, but couldn't get the stuff to stay on especially in the cold. Just got a little bit of wire to tape down and then I'm solid.
You're a national treasure bro
Wow. This makes me feel super bad about procrastinating this fast for 2 years. Thanks for the help
Yay! Ray Romano!! Just kidding bro, your voice just reminded me of his. Cool video!
Thanks so much! This video helped me a lot! I even figured out how to hide the cables for the rear cam, too!
You rock! Thanks, just did it in my car, took me 5 minutes, and looks great 👍👍
This actually worked, thanks for the video!
I just purchased a 2025 Kia Seltos and decided i wanted a dashcam. after getting one my wife complained about wires everywhere. did a quick search and this video popped up. the wire tucks in nicely along the top and part of the side. until the part near the door, i didnt want to pry it apart so i went along the weather stripping along the door and about midway, the weather stripping looks like it is attached to the frame, so i used electrical tape and held it firmly along the sides, then under the dash on the passenger side. overall i think it looks great and is mostly hidden. the excess wire i just tucked under the passenger side dash where the glove box is and used extra electrical tape for now. ill see how it holds, but now that we know what it possible i think wife will be satisfied with this solution. thanks!

This is the easy way to hide wires. I will do tomorrow to my X3. Thanks.
Very nice thnk you! I had visions of a horrible cable hanging from my windshield lol therefore I wasnt installing the dash cam that my partner gave me when he gets home it will be installed and he will be one happy man. thank you
Did this today. Super easy. Thanks for sharing.
I bought this dash cam based on this review. Thank you.
Nice job very helpful video👍
Very helpfull, managed to mask exactly as you shown here, thanks!
Worked flawlessly for me on my 2007 Avalon, the wires didn’t technically bother me but it definitely looks cleaner with them tucked away in the trim
What about the curtain airbags. My dash cam has huge warnings about not tucking wires if you have curtain airbags.
What did you end up doing
I did not even think about that thank you, do you recommend any other videos?
@@RingaTech too many people giving dangerous advice......
@@Timeforchangenow I had my wife sign a waiver, I’m good.
147 times you said "here".
How many times did he say "there" though... 😄
Hahaha
LOL! While watching the video, I was thinking along the same lines. I was thinking of a drinking game and taking a shot every time he said "Here" 😆
If he was Beyonce itd be a hit song
He had too. Go away with your rude snotty self
Excellent video - Thanks for the help!
This was perfect! I couldn’t figure out how to take the panel off the side to tuck the wires in before the cigarette lighter so I just hid it under my all weather mats 😅 no dangling cables! Thanks
Do you have a video for how to hide the rear camera cable??
Very informative, hella straightforward! thanks for sharing the technique!
Thanks for the video man I finally installed it and took like 3 mins cause of you
Thanks this video helped me confirm on how I can go about installing my first dashcam myself.
Thank you so much! This was very informative!
in fact we're on the highway right now and going "we need a dashcam!" :) Cheers
Thanks! The passage under the casket was a mystery to me. But I'll still look underneath to see if there's somewhere to tuck it in.
Thank you. My only concern about getting a dash cam was the wires. Figured you could just tuck them away and you reassured me

Dude i love this video, pretty useful
Very helpful. Appreciate this!
Thank you!! I been searching high and low for a good vid that clearly showed how to hide the cables. Found it really easily too install, although I wasn’t too anal about the cords along the bottom of the glove box so I just hid it under the floor mat. Thanks heaps :)
Dude, love it! It was so easy and looks clean as heck. I’m gonna try it with my rear cam too
That was easy, done in 10 minutes!
Thanks for the video
This worked great, thank you!!
Thx a lot mate, i was scratching my head on what do to with the cable.
Great HELP Thank You!!!!🙏🏾
Wow, thanks for this super video 🙂
I was going to hire a pro to do it, after watching this video it seemed east enough for me to do myself. Sure enough half an hour later the wire seamlessly blends into the door panel and console.
I dont mean to be so offtopic but does anyone know of a tool to get back into an instagram account??
I stupidly lost my account password. I would appreciate any tips you can give me
@Anakin Rudy instablaster ;)
@Salvatore Trey i really appreciate your reply. I found the site through google and im waiting for the hacking stuff now.
Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will reply here later with my results.
@Salvatore Trey it worked and I actually got access to my account again. I am so happy:D
Thank you so much, you saved my ass !
@Anakin Rudy you are welcome =)
Thanks dude. Made the process super simple. Did mine and my dad's car thanks to you 😁👍🏾
Nice Job! Looks awesome
This was extremely helpful! Thank you so much!!!
Excellent & straight to the point!
Thanks for sharing bro...👍🏻🗽😎
Correct me if I am wrong. You have installed the wiring over the SRS curtain airbag. This will interfere with the deployment of the airbag and may be a safety issue.
This man is a genius
Good to know that the suction cup sticks on plastic as well, thanks!
Great video! I did it exactly as you said and the installation was perfect. You are a good man. Thank you!
Maybe read the comments about the airbag deployment
Thank you for sharing ideas.
Hear, hear! Awesome job!
This is a brilliant idea! Especially since the cord is very long. Thank you very much for the idea. I hope my car can hold the dashcam cord.
Worked like a charm. Thanks ever so much. Saved me a huge headache and looks great!!
Great video, do you have a video on how to install a rear camera? I have a REVERSE CAMERA mirror.
To aid in hiding wire very similar to your installation I’ve used shipping popcorn to help wedge the wire like on the top of the windshield.
huh?
Great video thanks for sharing
Took me about 5 mins. I had to make adjustments because my car has a different layout but thanks for the video!
Absolute genius, just wish I'll be brave enough to do this
PLEASE FOR SAFETY REASONS DO NOT FOLLOW THIS VIDEO BEFORE READING THIS:
This guy runs his cable over an airbag causing a pretty serious safety issue!
If your car has an airbag in the windscreen pillar like his does, take the panel off and run it around the airbag. There's a great video by ChrisFix that explains this at 20m mark. He actually knows what he's talking about. Stay safe out there everyone!
Killed it! Thank you
Cool… gonna do this tomorrow! Thanks 👌🏻
thank you I thought it would be more difficult, thank you
Mind the air bags!!!!😮
You made it look very easy. I hope I can do it like that.
That's Excellent, Thanks!
Very nice. The problem with this method ia that you can't use your lighter/charger for cell phone charging now.
You should have another lighter/charger right in the center console.
Thank You 🙏 So Much that was a great tutorial 😊
luckiest guy ever - none of my cars have ever made it that easy, I looked here, and here, and tried it here, but nope. no room, even here. :-) Still, a very good video, even if I personally will need to remove a pillar trim yet again
Thanks, very helpfull video
