I actually always stated the P for "Primary" like Primary weapon.

Let me just say from 9 years later that I as a big Mega Man fan am really happy that out of all the game franchises Mike decided to start with, he didn't start with Mario, Zelda, Castlevania etc. but with Mega Man. It was probably just a coincidence but it makes me smile.
Mega Man 3 is still my No. 1 out of all the NES Mega Man games, only slightly beating out 2 (mostly because I like the idea of the Doc Robot stages which was never repeated in any Mega Man game again, would have been even better if they were different stages altogether instead of being "hacked" versions of the regular Robot Master stages). Definitely one of those games I come back to from time to time.
I always thought the "P" stood for Primary, and when changed to "M" i figured Main.... ah well, the terminology could never make this franchise bad... still play it.
P = Primary. As in primary weapon.
I always thought 'P' stands for Plasma, since that is a common science fiction weapon.
But if you think about it, the letters for the other weapons stand for the robot masters. That means is is something like Person or Player.

"P" has to stand for "Player." Like "Player 1" for example.
I have something important to say about thisat 1:10:12. I can't believe no one told him about this! Unless some were trolling or they really didn't know. There's a trick at this part where you keep hoping over and over again on the Rush jet and it depletes much slower, allowing you to get through. The down side being that you have to fight while doing this, but I've mastered it and beat it many times this way, without even collecting most of the energy capsules along the way.
P most likely stands for Player. It's right next to Mega Man's energy, hence the P for Player, similar to the Castlevania games where the health meter has the word "Player" next to it.
My guess is P stands for 'Player', as in (Default) Player (Character)
Megaman 2 is my favorite by far! Love the soundtrack and the game play is better in my opinion.
Surprised how many times we were all trying to Tell Mike that he can jump while on Rush Jet to conserve energy and he never saw when he looked at chat....
the megaman 3 get weapon song is just pure awesome I actual like it.
My favorite music in this game is Sparkman's theme, Snakeman's, Hard Man's, Wily Castle 2 and finally the Gameover screen.
I always thought it was strange that 3 did not have an intro to tell the story. When Dr Light said that Wily took Gamma, I had no idea what it was.
I like the music on the game selection screen. Kinda reminds me of Phantasy Star.
oh here's a rush jet tip, it doesn't count down if you're jumping, so jump a lot and push forward.
Top Man-who's attack is only useful for one boss at the very end

Mike the way to make the jets power last is to constantly jump . The power does not go down whne you are in the air but the jet goes with you .
1:11 what youre supposed to do if out of the Jet is refil it on the enemies like the dragonfly before you start. As you move you can land on the platforms that had the restorting items, and hit enemies as they come at you in waves, hopping from one to the next. Its very tedious and hard to do, but you can do it.
My guess on what the P stands for, is "Pellet"...at least that's what I've called it since I was a kid.

The original Mega Buster, originally called simply "P" (possibly standing for "power" or "player") in early games, also known as Arm Cannon and Plasma Cannon but no one knows for sure.

it's funny because when i played megaman and saw the "P" weapon, I always called it "pellets". like a pellet gun.

It's awesome how you hear Proto Man's theme throughout the whole game, and just when you think you're sick of it at the end it turns into one of the greatest credits themes ever in about one second.
I don´t have any boss order to this game, this game is so easy that I do robot masters every time in random order. And it´s more fun to do in different order.

You know, Mike... the point of these games is to find the weakness for each robot and use it. Not go in reverse order and use the regular weapon against all of them. Ha. I've never seen anyone go in a COMPLETE reverse order like this before when they have an entire panel informing them of who is weak to what. Spark beats Magnet, which beats Hard, which beats Top. Then you opt to go Top, Hard, Magnet, Spark, using your P the whole time. Lol. I know you know this. Just an odd way to take on the game. By the way, if you ever figure out what the "P" stands for, leak the info--the NES loved the letter P. What did it stand for in Mario 3? Or in Zelda 2? They threw a P on everything back then.

Magnet Man's theme is my favorite track in the game. Also, I COMPLETELY don't get why everyone's assuming the health bar is somehow connected to the X-Buster, which Capcom has said it's been called the entire time, even before the charging was invented. I think it stands for "Power" because it's his health, but I can also see why you'd think it's Plasma too Mike because that could also be what powers him. I lm'dmao at 18:29 and had a funny thought when you said that Mike, "Why is Shockwave green?" :D
Fun fact: Mega Man is solar powered and his primary gun fires solar energy. The P mean could "Primary"

I thought the P stood for Power Buster because the Mega Buster is just the same weapon but with a charge shot, implying that the Power Buster was used to build the upgraded version called the Mega Buster.
The P is definitely plasma. In all the other media where Mega Man is in, like the animated series, it's always a plasma cannon that he's using until later it's called Mega Buster which leaded to the X-Buster in the Mega Man X series. All based on a plasma based weapon.

Hey Mike, you can play most of Destiny by yourself, it just helps to have other people. In fact the only thing you really need other people for is the Vault of Glass Raid. The only other time you play with people is when you go to the Tower and you don't really play with them, they're just there doing whatever. On a side note there are the infamous disappearing Mega Man blocks in Destiny. So give it another shot, play with people when you want and don't play with them whenever you want.

I've been playing this game since early 90's and never knew that Etank disappears when you bring out jet.
I think the E-Tank disappeared because it timed out.

Only Megaman 2 has a difficulty setting because they added an easier option for the American release (they called it "Normal"). The original Japanese release had only one setting: what they called "Difficult" for the American release i.e. the one it was meant to be played on.
Mike change the button configuration so it plays like the NES already. It's right there in the menu you constantly pop up by accident.
In Mega Man 8, Mega Man actually says "power shot" when using his basic weapon.

I think P stands for pistol. Look at the game covers from Mega Man and Mega Man 2. He has a gun in his hand. That changed later on.
It's cute to watch how Mega Man looks at the boss icons on the stage select screen. I wonder why they haven't kept that in the other games.

somebody tells him "use your weapons more", he says "i'm conserving them" ...okay, i play that way too. but then later he is using his weapons and he never bothers to refill them with all the weapon energy that drops. but then he actively jumps up or backtracks to collect the weapon energy but only collects them while he has the pellet gun equipped.

didn't back in the days the "P" always stand for power? but otherwise i don't think they ever really gave it deeper meaning until it was changed to Mega Buster. So all we have is the guesses... Power, Plasma, Player all possible options that are (almost) as correct as the toilet humor ones.

Ok I have a Theory as to why its P. If you translate the name of the regular mega buster with a thought for thought translation you end up with
"Rock-Buster" so the mistranslation of an R into a P is very plausible.

My friend chris and I played this game so much I sat on controller 2 once by accident and chris jumped in a hole it makes you invincible left on controller 2 I think

I was able to get past the dam with only one turtle back then, when I was like 6 or 7. Couldn't get much further than that though. I could get through the dam without taking any damage sometimes. It's not that hard if you're good at the water levels from Mario.
