    Episode 15
Mega Man 2 is the best selling game in the series, and one of the best games ever made for the NES!
But did you know it was almost never made?!?
In this video we'll see how Mega Man 2 was developed by a small team at Capcom that really believed in what they were making. Then we'll jump into a deep dive of the game!
    We'll learn:
    * How to beat EVERY boss, even the ones in Dr. Wily's Skull Castle! We will learn what weapons to use, and what patterns to expect.
    * SECRETS of Mega Man's arsenal! We'll learn ways to use some of these weapons that you've never seen before!
    * INFINITE weapon energy? We'll learn which weapons never need recharging!
    * How to find TONS of extra lives and Energy Tanks. With this much help, we'll never get a Game Over!
    * How to clear EVERY stage, and what order to do them in!
    * Differences between the NORMAL and DIFFICULT modes, AND MORE!
    Thanks for watching!

There's one good trick to avoid being hit by the Boobeam Traps, much like MM1 pause trick. When they start flashing signaling they are going to shoot, start pressing the start button repeatedly to come in and out of the menu, the shots will not harm you that way.

One of my favorite Megaman games after 3. Cool video on the history of the making of this awesome game!
When playing this game, I often fight Metal Man first just to pick up the awesome Metal Blade weapon since it's so darn useful and powerful. Crash Man is often my next target due to how easy he's defeated using just your normal Mega Buster cannon due to the jumping pattern he uses (just run at him, light tap jump and shoot at the same time to hit him, and repeat until he's dead plus he won't ever land a hit on you since his crash bombs always end up and explode well away from you).
Knowing this pattern, Crash Man is the easiest boss to kill, not the hardest.

Where my friends and I would buy the games together and master them. Then years later i became an adult and the mega man collections came out 2002 or 04 and I introduce my step son to the blue bomber. Fun video. Loved watching this classic game. I have the Crashman theme as my ringtone. It's my favorite level theme in the series. Megaman 2 and 4 were the only two Megaman games we owned growing up. Was cool seeing different uses for some of the weapons. I didn't think about using Woodman's shield on those moving platforms in Crashman stage or against the bird eggs. Platform 3 always seemed to be the least useful of the three platforms. Some fun games on NES could be cool to see try. Kickle Cubicle and Swords & Serpents.

if you still have an extra Crash Bomb to use when you make it to the 2nd wily fight, you can take him out in a single shot if you can fire the bomb so it explodes slightly below the cockpit

Finally getting around to watching this, a few notes I have about the video:
    - (10:20) Quick second is good for Normal but pretty annoying on difficult because Quick himself can be a pain
    - (11:32) I almost think it's better if you encourage players to memorize the Force Beam section and use it on Quick because he can be pretty annoying Buster Only for newcomers
    - (12:39) Air Shooter does like 4 damage but it can also be somewhat annoying to hit Quick with, stick with Crash Bomber or the Buster
    - (17:29) Hey, someone else who uses Time Stopper to freeze the Crushers! Nice! Great advice for newcomers
    - (19:15) I'm pretty sure it's impossible to make that jump without some form of item
    - (19:32) Unfortunately that's not a mask, that's just Metal Man's fac
    - (25:35) I wouldn't say you have infinite lives, if you Game Over you lose all your E Tanks which is REALLY bad in the later levels
    - (27:16) WOOOAAAAAH! I never knew you could do that! Not super practical to pause every 3 Metal Blades to avoid depleting weapon energy but still pretty neat!
    - (28:07) I'd honestly recommend just fighting the first Friender normally instead of insta-killing it with Atomic Fire, since newcomers will want that for Wood Man.
    - (28:20) Nice! Showing the trick of using Time Stopper to prevent the Frienders from spawning! Good tactic for newcomers
    - (29:00) Oh wow, didn't know if you turned to the left, the Pipis would spawn from the left, nice!
    - (31:37) Technically they're still Mettaurs
    - (34:18) I would argue Quick is harder than Crash without his weakness
    - (34:52) The reason for the Clash Man/Crash Man difference is because the letter R doesn't really exist in Japanese, so they have a difficult time representing it
    - (41:20) Highly recommend against using Time Stopper here so you can use it on Quick Man- (41:59) Picopicko-Kun is weak to Bubble Lead, while it's more difficult to hit him with this, it also kills him quicker.
    - (42:42) I doubt Wily 3 was an intentional throwback to Wily 3 of the first game but that is a nice coincidence that both are water levels
    - (41:59) Picopicko-Kun is weak to Bubble Lead, while it's more difficult to hit him with this, it also kills him quicker.

    Overall, great video!

Interesting order. I usually do airman first to get item 2, which allows you to get the extra life and the E tank in metal man’s stage without dying. After metal man, I do woodman, then bubble, then heat, getting item 1. Next I do crash man with air shooter, and now with crash bombs and item 1, you can get the extra stuff in flash man’s stage, then finally I do quick man last.

    • @BenCossette

I do CrashMan after MetalMan. Otherwise the same order you use. Item 2 in Bubble Man's stage to help with the dropping platforms.

Airman first is the traditional path - they even recommend it in the instruction manual! It IS nice to have platform #2 early, I can't deny that!

    • @om3g4888
      @om3g4888 3 роки тому

Air>Bubble>Metal>Heat>Crash>Flash>Wood>Quick. If you can manage that order you can get all the 1ups and E Tanks.

Easily one of my favorite NES games of all time! I never knew there was a way to beat the 4th Wily stage with one full bar of Crash Bombs. I always died at least once to refill Crash Bombs, since the walls remained gone. Thanks for this!
I also found a quirky trick that shooting a Crash Bomb at Wood Man using Leaf Shield causes him to launch the shield earlier than he normally would. The explosion of the Crash Bombs also hurts Flash Man and Metal Man a lot, but sneezing hurts Flash Man. Another quick way, pun intended, to defeat Quick Man... after using a full bar of Flash Stopper, a fully charged Atomic Fire will take the rest of Quick Man's HP.
