As for your criticism of in-game tutorials in modern games; you couldn't figure out that you needed to use the anti-venom in Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine, so that was a case where you absolutely did need to be told what to do.

Not sure if Mike still reads these but Iceman works to freeze the vertical fires in Fireman and Wily's stage by the way.
On Xbox One the left shoulder button paused the game for Wily boss. Also the thin robots on water in Ice Man stage can be destroyed with cut.
It's not even that hard to make it to Wily's Castle, but it's difficult as fuck to beat it.
If you don't do it, I will: Beat Mega Man all the way through without using a single special weapon.
Use the PERSON Shooter all the way through the game beginning to end including defeating Dr. Wily
and stream that shit.
Pause glitch worked on Rockman Classics Collection on PS4! I could confirm this since that’s how I defeated Yellow Devil on original Mega man!

no. I don't use your "pause trick". it's all about knowing which ones to jump over then not jumping too high so you can be ready for the next.

You can get a Dazzle or Elgato capture card for streaming games on consoles. I use a Dazzle to VCR + co-axial setup (+ a double ended composite cable from the VCR to my TV).

I still hate the beginning part of the gutsman stage. I always have to use that laser bridge device to get through that part.
I always debate watching this live but my internet randomly sucks some days, and this way I won't miss stuff when i'm working.
Watching this after the Gameboy version stream. Man this is MUCH easier. Instead of taking fuckin 25% damage from 1 hit, here you take like 5% damage, and have plenty of health and even full health pickups after difficult rooms.
Seems like this version of Megaman 1 is sped up slightly from the original.
You should use the select button to pause the game. At least in the NES version that was the right way.

From the likes of the High Definition game industry today and the incredible graphics resolution the consoles produce when played on HD displays, MegaMan appears to be a relic of the past a forgotten age, say, 1914.

Yes, today's graphics are phenomenal but a lot of the times games that showcase their art more instead of their gameplay are more easily forgotten..you play through them once or twice and their done. Plus, these days nobody want's to actually be challenged in a video game unless it's online multiplayer, they just want to watch cut-scenes around every checkpoint with no risk involved in their proceeding of the game.

Guys, Mega Man's graphics are incredible by today's standards. You have to understand the distinction between the art direction and fidelity (or how many pixels you can fit and use on a screen). A 4K, 60fps, hyper-realistic game could have worse graphics than a game on the Atari 800. What makes a game's graphics good or bad is its ability to use what it has well in terms of aesthetics, how well the style suits the rest of the game, etc. Furthermore, I refuse to concede that today's standards are higher in terms of fidelity than 8-bit titles. Take a look at Shovel Knight, Odallus: The Dark Hall, or the entire frigging modern movement in gaming art direction towards simplistic, sprite-based, pixely goodness. These games aren't simply brushed off because they have "bad graphics." Rather, they're popular and celebrated FOR their graphics DESPITE their graphics. Modern standards are high, and 8-bit titles (the good ones at least) fit the high standard.

the original megaman 1 was laggy on nes, so it's not your controller.
for megaman 1, you have to begin with gutsman, not cutman.
because there is a bonus in the elecman stage you HAVE to have to finish the game, and you can only have this bonus by already having the gustman weapon and elecman hates cutman weapon

Watch any mega man speedrun, they always save Gutsman for last because it saves time. They exploit a glitch that allows you to get the M-weapon in Elecmans stage without previously having defeated Gutsman.

He's talking about the Magnet Beam. What he is forgetting is that glitch can take hours to learn; you definitely don't want to try it streaming if you can't remember the order. In any case, Cuts and Bomb are interchangeable. As they are still easy with the pellet gun. Use Bomb on Guts, Cut on Elec, Elec on Ice, Ice on Fire.

Good luck. I also beat cyclops without the pause trick but it was near impossible, even on a slower pal version. It's 'NES hard'. I came to this video specifically to see my old friend the cyclops.
Stephen P I use to play mostly with the buster as well, it's quite a challenge, elec man being the toughest for me with iceman 2nd toughest.

Like now. I'm 26 now and I'm much better than what I could've been at that time. Not that this means that I've had much more practice on that game when I was revisiting it, just like 1 month ago. It didn't take me long to figure out how the game works and it was shamefully easy for some strange reason. For newcomers, I also find the Cut Man stage in Wily's Revenge to be unfair. Not in a way that ensures certain death if you know how to approach certain situations (like in MM1 for the NES, if you use the footholders on Ice Man and on Wily 1).

I got the megaman collection on ps2,but damn,it's hard to play with the ps controller! So i got them all for the nes,plays way better on classic controllers!
djpee25 There's also a reactionary delay between the controller and MegaMan's actions on screen. It makes the quickman stage almost impossible to beat. I've played it multiple times on an NES emulator on the PC and noticed no issues.

Konami is a lost cause at this point, sadly. Metal Gear Solid V will likely be their last major game as they transition to a heavy focus on Japanese gambling machine. I can't see them caring about releasing their classics on modern systems.

Why do you say P is for "Person"? It doesn't make any sense, why would P stand for Person in the world of Mega Man? I'm pretty sure Mega Man is a robot, not a person. So why would you call his buster person? If anything, as with the most of the weapons, it has a two-part name. In the case of it being labeled as P, I'd say its more likely to be called Power Buster.

No, not really. Anyone who has beaten Mega Man once will breeze through these levels. It's a trial and error kind of game that once you learn, you don't easily forget.

You should not pause cheat when livestreaming, I respect Bootsy eventhough I do not entirely like his humor and kinda find his personality.. incompatible with mine, He plays the true way. the same with James, he shows glitches and crappy games, but even a crappy game he plays it fair and square, if he cheats with game genie etc. it is often to prove that won't even save you.
I mean this in the best of ways, I think you guys put alot of hard work in your videos, but cheating like that, in a game that can actually be beaten, seems too low a move for a crew of your stature...
