Tony, I wondered why my Subscriber count started going through the Roof! Thank you SO MUCH!
Tip - If your floats are too soft.. then just put a Bead first , then the Float.. and toothpick the Bead.
I like using the colored Party picks. They are hardwood. Use pliers when inserting into Bead.
Trim with Nail Clippers. Great Underwater Video Gum! Keep'em Coming!
Thanks My Friend! I have to give credit where it is do! It hit me as I was watching and editing this video that you had a solution already!
-Tony
@@FishGum ..I have to remember to do this...I use to put a drop pf super glue on the mono at the float....the pick works just as well
Just subbed to the both of y'all! Great videos ! Thanks!
That's a great tip, I will do this with my Pompano rigs as well. Thank you for sharing.
Cant wait to see more !!! This is again another learning experience about the little things we overlook that can make a huge difference thank you for the time and effort you put in to this channel and the education you provide
My friend! I am doing my best, when I learn we all do!
-Tony
I have to thank you for not only your interesting videos but your sincere honesty of trying to help us become more productive fishermen. You rock...
Thank you for doing a wonderful job at sharing all this training and imagine you have underwater cameras to validate it all. God Bless You.
Testimony: I watched your video on catching sand fleas. Went to Daytona today. Shrimp not hitting nothing. Started catching sand fleas and the hook was never empty. We caught enough to make this one of our best fishing days ever.. thx again
Welcome back! Great tip! I'm going to have to make my drop lines longer and try this! Thanks again for another great video
I’ll keep pumping out.
I just found your channel and want to thank you for creating this content.
Armed with a toothpicked Chartreuse Float/Eagle Claw Crcle Sea rig i tied myself, and an "Elite" Kahle hook rig, i decided to conduct an experiment.
Results: Circle Sea 5 keepers and "Elite" Kahle rig 1 keeper.
Yep, 5 to 1.
Same bait, rotated locations...bjg difference.
Got a limit yesterday and want to thank you.
I've since watched several of your other videos and really appreciate the straightforward candid opinions you share and your enthusiasm for innovative approaches.
Thanks.
I’m very thankful for this message! My goal is that my content and inventions help others be more successful fishing! You found greater success! Thanks!
-Tony
Hey Tony. Been following your channel for a couple months already and I can tell you I have learn so much about surf fishing with all your videos. I usually have 4 rods set up when surf fishing. One of the rods I call it the experimental rod, that's the one I use for trying all the techniques and tricks I learn from you, Frank's fly, painted hooks, etc...That rod always always outfishes my other rods therefore, I can give testimonial that your advices REALLY works. I might have to name that rod 'Tony' in your honor...lol..I use fishbites a lot tho. Can't wait for your pomp chews to hit the market so I can finally try them. Thanks for all you do for the fishing community man. May God keep blessing you brother!!
This is Truly is an huge complement! Thanks for this honor! In my UA-cam absence, I was able to stumble across so key developments for the FishGum bait. Thanks for your anticipation! Maybe with a little hope and prayer, some product productions will be available this Spring 2020!
Welcome back, Tony ... Good to see you posting content again!
Thanks so much!
Thank you for these videos. You've got me thinking about my rigs and how they affect my catch. Been struggling to catch much using those 99 cent hi lows from the box stores. Going to try some new rigs at the end of the month as long as the tropics cooperate with me.
Yeah no doubt! We have some unpredictable weather for sure!
-Tony
More really good stuff. I love it when once in a while one of these catfish swim straight at the camera as if to say "I see you, and I know what you're up to."
I know they strut in there don’t they! -Tony
Brother you EARNED a subscription from me for this one! I've heard about your Fish Gum and am looking to get it ASAP! Just moved to Gulf Breeze and I'm obsessed with Pompano fishing. Keep up the great work and THANK YOU!
You are gonna have a ton of fun!
Glad to hear your past 3000 Tony.
I'll be trying out your suggestions here in Thailand after the rainy season stops.
Thanks Stephen! How long does that last?
Welcome back Tony good learning lesson. I’ve pegged the floats before but not on double drops. Set up kinda like a Carolina setup with a sliding weight.
Yes sir just like that but.....WHAT AN INTERCEPTION! I was at the game last week! Will he stay up on Varsity?
Trent will stay on the varsity squad, our grandson is a stud.
Awesome tip Tony!! Thank you for this! Recon I'll be keeping a tube of toothpicks in my fishing bag from here on out! Another good video!
Thanks Blake! My eyes are opened!
Hey Tony, how long has this june grass been in? Went out this a.m. and it drenched my lines.. A real bummer bust on getting on those whiting and pompano. We're staying right next to the pier, but traveled several miles toward Pensacola beach to national seashore beach access #2 to fish. Does it usually go away pretty quick or does it linger around? Any tips from you would be greatly appreciated. We're leaving Friday Morning.
The footage is amazing me, my son and my daughter love watching underwater videos i never seen these clear fishes before🎣💖
It’s a whole new world to observe for sure!
Welcome back Bud. Another great underwater video...….!!!
Thanks so much! Have you fished much lately?
We surf fished a couple times, but the water has been warm and muddy. Only thing biting has been small croakers, catfish, and noseumms...…...LOL...…...the mullet run should be starting shortly though...…...
I just got back from Florida fishing for Pompano in the surf and catching nothing but hardhead catfish. I will be studying this video for next year. Thank you for your work Sir
Your welcome! Sometimes we all leave the surf only catching hardheads!
-Tony
Thanks again man learning so much from you this year cant wait to get back to the beach
I know Will! You may have to move to the beach one day!
-Tony
HayMan that’s a great tip thank you very much for being in this game for the long-haul I really appreciate it god bless you and I look forward to you being back
Thanks Carlos! I just so excited to learn from these underwater videos and can’t wait to share with you all what I learn!
-Tony
Awesome. That will be done to all my rigs for my next trip down. Thanks.
I was thinking a bobber stopper knot tied to the line but this is much easier to implement and a more solid solution. Nice.
That’s a great idea! Thanks
Great footage. Good to have you back! How do you tie that rig? It looks like it could be done pretty easily as a sort of reverse pompano rig. Put the weight on the dropper loop and the hook down where you put the weight.
The one in the video was really long! I’m working on a floating Carolina Rig which will suspend the back higher in the water column. I’ll do some videos of rigs I have been trying.
Awesome video, great info. I love the underwater shots. Nice work!
Thanks for checking me out!
I'm pretty new to surf fishing, this is my first year. I have caught few cats & no rays because I have made sure my floats stay at the hook & keep it up off bottom. This is the best tip for new surf fisherpeople. Can't wait to get my hands on some gum.
Thank you!
Holy catfish Batman 😳 great video buddy. Love these under water footage you learn so much from this
Thanks my friend! The catfish were a zombie invasion!
This is a great idea for the floats and great video and information as always!
Thanks so much! You are welcome!
Welcome back Tony. You look well rested. Great tip. Have you tried adding a float to a rig with Frank's fly?
No I have not but I will try for sure!
Welcome back Tony. Good vid.
Thanks so much!
Great vid man! Great simple solution...I love these underwater educational videos! Tight lines 😎
I hope to film so tomorrow with my new Spydro!
Great tip Tony. Can't wait to try it in October when I go to Indian Pass for 3 weeks. God Bless brother.
Now that sounds like fun! Huge Fun!
-Tony
Good stuff! Thanks for sharing. Wish we had clear water like that here in Galveston, Texas
Thanks so much! We do have some fine clear water here!
Will have to try this very good tip, great to have you back
Thanks so much my Friend! -Tony
Great video. The underwater footage really sets off your teaching.
Thanks Roger!
-Tony
Thanks for sharing the tips on the rigs.
Your welcome!
This is great! What I had been doing was to tale a small paintbrush with plasti-dip and simply painting the end of the float holding it in place and not inhibiting the floating action. I use the same color as the float when I use the plasti-dip. I think the toothpick may work better. My only problem is there aren’t enough Pompano on N.C. Beaches. There are almost never any of the size you catch on the Gulf.
Yes it is different up there for sure! However it may keep the crabs and stingrays off too. Thanks for the comment!
-Tony
Interesting idea. Have to give this a try. Have not caught a pomp since the beginning of summer. Camt wait till they start moving through again
Yes! It’s going to be a very nice fall run!
Amazing videos Tony! A lot of scientific information, explains fish behavior. I'm curious about the camera that you use for underwater videos. I love the footage and I love seeing nature, can you share what little camera you use and how you attach it to your rigs? By the way, I'm a subscriber, I love your content!
great video Tony....very interesting.....
Thanks my Friend! -Tony
Great to see you back
Thanks so much!
-Tony
Nice video illustrating the problem, and nice quick easy fix.
Thanks Jason!
-Tony
Hey Tony! I’m a little behind responding but that was a great tip. Thanks for the info and thanks to Pompano Brownie for coming up with that! I haven’t been able to get to the beach to fish this year due to buying a house and some family stuff but I’ll get out there one of these days lol. Thanks to this, I have some work to do to my rigs. God bless my friend!
Man! I feel behind with a ton of good and tough family stuff! I’ll be praying for you brother! The tough thing going on is that I taking on the financial burden of my sisters home until it sells. The neighbors are making it hard for me to sell! They parked a camper in front of the house! Argh!
I feel you there. My wife’s family just sold her grandparents’ house and we’ve been moving their things out so it’s been physically and emotionally taxing on everyone. Thanks for the prayers and I’ll be praying for you as well!
Aloha Hanapaa. Mahalo for that fishing tip.
Good information dude!
Matt!!! Thanks for stopping by my man! This underwater stuff is an eye opener for sure!
-Tony
awesome and very helpful underwater footage..thanks for sharing
Thanks man!
Great tip! Thanks
YW
Great tip! Awesome footage!
Thanks
Thank you for the great info
You welcome
That was a great tip. Thanks.
Thanks for the idea of coloring weights and hooks. With lacquer nail polish, a mix of two colors, I'm putting on 'conch pink' to my hooks, beads, floats and sinkers. I'm looking for 'Mole Shrimp Yellow'. If we're going to throw colors let the colors be agreeable.
I love those names thats gotta work!
-Tony
Did this trick mainly to keep crabs from stealing my bait..😂😂.. Great Video and Tip Tony!!
See man you are WAY ahead of me in your thinking! Good stuff!
Great tip, nice to know. How about more video's of failed casts so we can learn why it was a failed hookup?
I’ll work some of those into the next few vids!
Awesome tip! Lol
Thanks for another great video stay blessed my friend!
Thanks!
thank u so match for great info.
You’re welcome!
Catfish swarm wow!! Great explanation of that opening clip!
That pomp catch was awesome! That underwater footage is awesome man every time. Great to see you back!
Thanks brother! It’s a whole new world watching the fish strike underwater! See ya Ed!
-Tony
Good video and tip. You can also thread a Rubber band into where you shoved the toothpick into, Is how I peg my weight when bass fishing. Looking forward to more videos!
Thanks for the tip and for watching!
I am in the N/E and we have porgy, and I use a float rig from wine corks and a T knot. Maybe this will work for you?
I’ve never tried the the T-knot. We do use floats though
Awesome video man
Thank you Jacob!
-Tony
Nice tip Brother,,good underwater tutorial... thanks for sharing Blessings
Thanks Magic Man!
-Tony
Great Video!
Thanks
Awesome tip!! Thank you
Your welcome!
That’s good Info. Sure didn’t know that one
Great tip!!!
Thanks Brother!
I use a small piece of silicone tube too do the same effect on my pulley rigs
Great tip. How long do you make your loops?
Great idea!
Thanks
Big thumbs up buddy great upload
Great Tip!
Thank u for ur time
Your welcome!
Love the underwater footage
Thanks William!
-Tony
Thanks good idea!
Thank you!
It makes sense i use them bass fishing to pin bullet weights in place. Thanks
Thanks Nathan for watching! God bless you brother!
@@FishGum needing prayer as i live in Vero Beach Florida withe Dorian at our doorstep.
I make all my pomp. Rigs with a 4 - 6 inch droppers, and a 18 inch anchor point. So it's 12 - 18 inches off the bottom and the hooks never float close the bottom.
Nice
Great tip thanks
Thanks so much!
THANK YOU FOR SHARING, GREAT VIDEO
Thanks so much!
-Tony
Small things can become BIG THINGS if not corrected!
Thank You.
Captain Carpman
Yep! The camera does not lie!
Hi, can you teach how to set up a camera on a rig like this? I really want to see what my area looks like
Been doing it years in freshwater but it never occured to me to use it in saltwater, thanks Tony.
These underwater vids help me so much!
Do have one question? Whe. Using the tooth pick nethod. Is that float too small for shrimp. In other words., would the shrimp be too heavy and pull the float to the bottom ornwould it float as well.
A toothpick!! Awesome. I make my drops 6 inches long and have caught rays etc... now l know what l was, repeat, was doing wrong. Thanks. Have a great labor day weekend.
Cheers.
I know it’s crazy to see this on underwater camera! It makes us all better fishermen! I would not have started using toothpicks had I not see what’s was happening underwater! Can’t wait to learn more! You have a great weekend too!
Freshwater catfishing rattle floats are common but better if you separate your float and bait/bait about 2-4 inches. Tooth picks are cheap work well. Looking forward in seeing FishGum on the store shelves. Tight lines and God speed
Man thanks so much! I would love to see FishGum right beside FISHBITES on day! -Tony
Do you use a sinker with this rig if so what sizes sinker should I use thank you
I use 4 oz pyramids with every rig
Kindly make a video on how to make under water camera rig and what camera you used. Thanks
I just walked through my kitchen, picked up toothpicks and put them in my tackle bag. Thanks Tony!
I’m in Alabama, are you fishing at Orange Beach near us? Thanks for tip 🙌🏼
In they vid yes
WOW! Tony, I better buy a box of toothpicks before there's a run on them!👍 Great tip! Tight Lines 🍀👍😎
For Real!
Muito bom esse conselho, a isca tem que estar na posição certa
Very nice!
Thanks so muc!
Thanx a lot dude !
Wait to try out the new product
Thanks my friend!
-Tony
great info
Thanks my friend!
Good stuff brother.
Thanks so much!
Good video. I was fishing last weekend on st George island and seriously got like 21 catfish. Most were 5 inches long. Never seen anything like it. Awful. Got one pompano that was too small and one whiting that was too small.
Knowing how you like vintage fishing reels - just got an old D.A.M. Quick 270 Super reel circa early 1960’s. Do you know this reel or have one? It is supposed to be a great old surf fishing reel and it is surely large enough. It needs a little work but that will be fun. This one has a speed control (?) Let me know what you think about this reel. I’ve missed having you to talk to about reels. Think about us up in NC as we are waiting for the arrival of Hurricane Dorian. I just put a new roof on my house yesterday because of a hail storm two months ago. Bad timing for a new roof but that’s my luck I guess. Very concerned about another flooding event like Matthew and Florence! Pray for us!
I’m praying my friend! I have not heard of this reel! I’ll look it up!
This is genius!
Where you got your hook with color on it ? Paint ?
Here’s how you make them: ua-cam.com/video/fYrjCTawmuI/v-deo.html
When I lived in central US.."let's go catch some catfish. Now I live in Florida..."hate these damn catfish"
Lol! 100% True!
-Tony
@@FishGum water quality indicator....move /leave when they are thick...they love dirty water,,,we don't see them in clean water here on the east coast
Cool vid man! New purpose for toothpicks!
Do you need a sinker to hold the float in place.
There is a pyramid weight attached to the end of the rig that helps get the float in place.
@@FishGum thank you.
Good video
