How migrants dying on their journey become EU responsibility? Their country where they came from should be liable and be sued in court. Because their citizens, their responsibilities!

agree . they are trying to illegally migrate and are complaining they got turned back? What is the problem, infact this documentary is good propaganda for others doing the same - break the law, face the consequence of your action.. You could say it's a positive thing, less will try this method in the future, which means less death in the ocean and the desert. They can apply for refugee status or like someone said below setup a bmw or vw factory where they can earn decent money near Tunisia seems like a good idea, if europe wants to be responsible for them. Poland has a similar documentary where they say they will shoot people trying to cross illegally..

The EU flat out abandoned its financial obligations to the EU and NATO. They COULD have used that money to help stabilize those countries and institute migration policies to help alleviate the situation. I mean the US has been doing it in S. America, as well as footing the bill for EU defense for DECADES. The LEAST you Europeans can do is to get up off your lazy cheap asses and help out, because we are done in the US, and are going to be getting out of Europe, the Middle East, and all of these places that refuse to help themselves. We ain't the World Police anymore and don't wanna be. Those humans can't control the evil and corruptness, so they naturally seek to live. OK Einstein, what would YOU do if you were in their spot?

Ever notice that every African leader who does, ends up dead. For example, to date, there have been at least 16 attempts on President Ibrahim Traore's life, though he only took office in Sep. 2022. Why is this happening? Because he forced out the West, France, and the US. At this point, he is now aligning with Russia and China.

Many dictatorship countries don't give passports to its citizens. Without passport it's impossible to apply for visa. Another thing is that this has been going on for decades, but the age of social media made everything more visible (which is a good thing in this case). I absolutely agree that those governments need to be held accountable but unfortunately rather the opposite is happening. Trump fluffing dictator Putin left and right but hates democratic Zelensky, Orban is fluffing Trump, Kim Chong Un the ultimate dictator, bunch of African countries under dictators, wars in the Middle East, Iran, war in Israel that Trump doesn't mind supplying with weapons but has really hard time to supply Ukraine with weapons...... Fico, the Slovakian president just announce that he wants to reduce the number of parties in the parliament that his own party can take up as many seats possible...Is the world turning back to fascism, Nazism, communism??!! Seen in the comments are statements that the travelers countries aren't taking care of their own citizens, that there are many African countries, many don't care for these travelers, many don't care for their own citizens. If the rest of the world is expected to provide money for these countries, support their citizens in other countries, maybe all Africa needs to be governed by a multi-country government that can help these people and modernize in their own countries. Maybe there shouldn't be so many small inefficient countries and areas of larger countries that may be controlled by people keeping any wealth for themselves, allowing their citizens to suffer living in poverty in shacks, living in dirt. Renegade governments and gangs killing people wouldn't be allowed in modern countries. It's no wonder so many people have tried to make it to the modern societies, a chance to live in today's world. One problem is, they aren't prepared for a modern world.

This documentary sheds light on the tragic realities of human trafficking and the perils faced by migrants. However, it simplifies the intricate geopolitical dynamics and the inherent challenges of international intervention. While the EU bears a moral responsibility to address human rights violations, it must also respect the sovereignty of other nations. Imposing external solutions can be counterproductive, often worsening existing issues rather than resolving them.
The documentary's focus on race and ethnicity, while significant, is overly reductive. The plight of migrants is shaped by a multitude of factors, including economic inequality, political instability, and the impacts of climate change. Framing the crisis in simplistic racial terms overlooks the true complexity of the situation.
Furthermore, the EU's migration policy, despite its humanitarian intent, may inadvertently force migrants into the hands of smugglers and traffickers. A more nuanced approach is necessary-one that balances humanitarian imperatives with legitimate security concerns. A more sustainable solution to the global migration crisis lies in substantial investment in the economic development of African nations. With the youngest population in the world, Africa has immense potential. By empowering young people through education, infrastructure development, and technological innovation, we can foster a more prosperous and stable future for the continent. This approach not only reduces the need for migration but also contributes positively to the global economy.
It is essential to avoid paternalistic attitudes and treat African nations as equal partners. By investing in their development, we can promote self-reliance and work towards a more equitable world.

Why EU officials don't consider, instead of supporting regimes as the Tunisian and Mauritanian, investing in development projects in the countries from most of the refugees come from? (Nigeria, Guinea, Sierra Leone, etc). European countries and companies have been collecting huge revenues from their African colonies since 19th century. Now, if they want to keep themselves aside from massive immigration, the best way to achieve it is investing in the lands they plundered.

The reason they are fleeing is due to instability in the countries; economic and political. These are the underlying issues that fuel migration and no one asks for example, who is sending arms and funding the rebel groups or the war in said countries. Africans do not innovate guns or military trucks nor do we have a currency that can sway things in our favour. Facilitating safe immigration channels is indeed a solution but it is curing a symptom, not the causes. Systemic issues need to be addressed and whether Europeans (west majorly) like it or not, due to the colonial legacies, this concerns them. But Africans too need to bring sane, sustainable solutions to the table and not just asking Europe to welcome us. If we have the gall to cross deserts and oceans, we can channel that energy to making our countries better. Mental and physical energies are needed.

Very little sympathy for people who really just want a better life. Just like the Europeans that fled to Nth and Sth America, Australia or South Africa and / or exploited the countries resources and the people. Centuries of slavery out of Africa, enriching Europe with no concern with how that affected Africa or any compensation for the outrage that is slavery.
Even today Europe is happy to aggressively recruit nurses, doctors and other professionals; trained at the expense of African countries but lured away by higher salaries and leaving their health systems short of staff.
Think again Europe, you are not "Lilly White"!

Their own governments are the ones abusing them.

Pure racism. What i see are decent people who do not deserve the political situations they were born into. They have goals and aspirations just like the rest of us - potentially more than i could say about some people living off government handouts in parts of Europe. The root cause is the lack of knowledge of the richness of African cultures. What i see are resilient people who speak with such composure after enduring unthinkable injustice. I cant imagine being that eloquent and calm while sitting in a desert at the mercy of a foreign government.

Poor people all around the world are just the shadow of living dead. They are not even number or name in the so called systems of the system. As the saying goes failure has no friend or family but success has many both legal and illegal.😊😂😮❤❤❤
