Bought a V40 D2 CC a few months ago. It's a solid, dependable, comfortable vehicle. Paid just over £12 000 and think I got an absolute bargain. Feels like worry free motoring. Also has a heated windscreen and seats; for the winter months. ;-) No regrets.

Mini for me, got the same model you reviewed in British racing green. Very happy with the car. I agree, it's not the best on fuel, then again I bought it because it's fun to drive and not for fuel economy. Also, it is very practical and has a certain amount of charm to it. The only thing i don't care for is the silly seat in the rear boot, however, if your into tail gating I'm certain it would be very handy.
I have one and its a great little car.....very nippy and I'm averaging about 37 MPG.....slow down a bit and it will do more.....its also hugely practical, refined and well built
@@Sto79Be it's the 2.0 petrol "S" model.... I mostly drive in the green mode which is very refined.... If I need to overtake or have some fun simply flick to Sport and it goes like the clappers..
MINI is that brand in the autoworld which has it’s takers even before the review starts... And they don’t care even if it comes in the last position . They will still buy them. Love them ❤️
I have the Volvo V40 R-Design PRO on D4 Suspension lowered by 8MM the car is a beast, i tried mini`s and been in Q2`s but didnt find them practical, the seats speak for themselves plus a lot of design has gone into these cars especially with thor hammer light design makes these so much great visability at night time driving. I went for the Theoretical light design and Full LED for the light pack, you just dont feel like your in a volvo!!

The MINI is the Best Buy. Most modern car, safest car, roomiest and most fun to drive. Last but not least it has the highest values when reselling the car.
Please review the Volvo S60 its a really good looking car in R design trim, and we want to see if it stood the test of time compared to germans although in my country its much cheaper
All these new Audis are faultless when it comes to drivetrain pairing, interior fit and finish quality, ergonomics, fuel economy, and most amazingly, suspension setup. It's just a pity Wolfgang Egger completely ruined the foundation of Audi's great designs left off by Walter de Silva.

The Volvo XC40 doesn't arrive in the UK until 2018. The car tested is a Volvo V40 CC which has been around for years. Please ensure you stop making errors.
I've tried Q2 when visiting my dealer. Interior is too much plastic. Hard plastic on a doors. Hard plastic on a bottom part. generally A3 is much better IMO.
The Volvo V40 XC is Crossover body and C segment, like its direct rivals (Premium): Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class, BMW X2 Series, Infiniti Q30, Lexus UX and DS 4. In Generalist brands: Subaru XV, Focus Activ, KIA XCeed, Citroën C4, Mitsubishi Eclipse and Toyota C-HR ... On the other hand, Audi Q2 and MINI Countryman are segment B.
Audi always win this kind of comparison, Audi cars are designed to fits your every need, it might not drive like bmw or luxury like Mercedes, it’s the best combination.
My 2016 hardtop now has 112,000 miles and runs excellent. Also, I see that the 2022 Countryman placed 2nd out of 29 Luxury Small SUV's in the latest issue of Consumer Reports magazine. (It's now 6/21/22)
Mat, Next time you review a 40 or 60-model Volvo, check out the satnav controls on the steering wheel and by voice command. Not pretending this generation of Volvo gets near Audi, but they are a lot better than you - and many other reviewers - make out. And steering wheel controls are much safer than touch screen on the dash.
Mini is the only choice for driving enthusiast as it is the only offered in manual. I would say also the best looking. For those wanting automatics -- best to wait a couple years or so when the self-driving cars are supposed to come out in numbers.
it was an English test how he could not win the mini! Audi and Volvo are definitely better. In this uphill he was not equal to the acceleration, and at liberty, that he was driving half the clutch in the same audi, and in mini he rode faster!
Out of these cars, the MINI would be the best if it wasn't so tragically overstyled and overpriced. Although a 5 year old volvo isn't exactly hard to beat.
Volvo is the best, but the normal version is better. and you can buy it sheaper by alo. (for me Comfort is the most important on this types of the cars, and insonorization as well as build quality)
I've bought the v40 in 2013 for 25000€, it was basically brand new (had only fifty, yes that is 50, kilometers on it) and came fully equipped (sans leather seats which i hate anyways). with the money saved i've got myself a nice Heico upgrade to 194HP and 450Nm torque. It's a perfect autobahn car, smooth as fuck - in no way relatable to mini or Q2. Despite it being quasi higher, it's really not, the extra 40mm just mean that it eats the autobahn bumps better. It's better to compare it with the A3, which in the 2013 was years behing the v40 (it just caught up with it with the 2017 iteration). and I don´t really like the design of Audi in general, I just find it boring (I compare the attractiveness of Audi with a plain white paper). I do about 80km a day (work-home) and it does the job flawlessly. If it were the only family car I wouldn't have bothered, but the wife drives an xc70, which is a fucking boat in comparison, so when we need space we just take the xc70. but it is a perfect weekend getaway car for two people (plus two small kids in the back)
Options and prices are a bit grim. At £20K - £25K all these cars make sense. Spend a little bit so that you don't get the cheapest engine. Then leave it at that. If performance is a must, then get a medium hot hatch instead. They will be £10K cheaper, faster and more fun.
That Mini's interior is so happy and it does only fits a certain kind of people while that audi's is like for everyone smooth gentle and elegant not over styled.. no need to talk about the ugly Volvo.

Philipe maia barbetta not quite. I think the A3 is a bit more circular. But I also think that the new A3 will have a similar interieur.
All three cars are not my taste, but the Q2 at least looks like a small SUV and not like a higher Hatchback like the other two.

No they havent the prices have to go up to keep up with the demand and developments in technology.
The Volvo is starting to show its age, will wait for the new XC40 that hopefully will come later this year.
