The Audi Q2 was facelifted in 2020 with refreshed styling and updated trims that are designed to ensure it remains competitive with newer rivals. In this CarGurus UK review Rebecca Jackson gets to grips with the 35 TFSI model with its 1.5-litre petrol engine and S-tronic dual-clutch automatic gearbox to see if it should be on your shortlist.

5 foot 4 and a half ... The „half“ is everything! I like it. 😄
*Small thing's matter!*
6:10 As a Q2 owner myself I did experience this as well, however your individual setting was most likely set on comfort, while Dynamic delivers a more direct response.
Best car review channel - well done guys.
As much as I hate to admit it, being in the front seat of an audi including the 2018 model of this Q2 and even a mid level 2013 A3, always feels special.
Compared to any other mid level German brand or anything else around a similar price point. My opinion is not a professional one.
I’m on my second Q2 .... had the last for 4 years. Great car! The 2021 version has all the older options included as standard. Can’t fault it.
I want one, would you recommend a petrol rather than diesel? Are they economic on long trips?
@@sueguffogg9705 Hey Sue. I had my previous Q2 for 4 years and did approx 1000 miles a week; so I know it well. I’ve gone for the same again as I love the car; and I drive the 1.5L 150bhp petrol model (Sport) as anything less than this feels really underpowered ... but you might find it ok? I didn’t go for the diesel version as to get the same 150bhp, I would have had to purchase the more expensive 2L model. The petrol is quiet and quick (0-60 in just over 8 seconds and I’ve easily done 125mph). Cant comment on the fuel consumption as I use a company fuel card so don’t really look. I drive the car very hard so I’m not bothered about consumption; but I probably get around 36mpg. If you drive it like a normal person then I’m sure you’ll get much more. Ride is smooth and very quiet (on non standard tyres), great seated position and the control layout is utterly fantastic. I can control music, switch between iPod, radio etc, volume, cruise control, make mobile phone calls, activate voice control and much more without taking my hands off the steering wheel. Audi really have excelled in the placement of the controls. The newer models also come with what were extra options on the previous car so you get a fantastic digital display and 8 inch satellite display, led lights, lumber controls, electric boot etc. Radio / speaker quality is fantastic.
As you can tell, I can’t recommend it enough! If you go for the petrol sport 150bhp model you’ll be very pleased! I would recommend the colour red with privacy glass ... as it makes the car look SO much better visually. I would also recommend the flat bottom steering wheel if you have spare cash.
Hope that helps ... ask if you have more questions 😀
@@neli5p Thankyou so much Neil I feel more confident in buying one now! 👍❤️
@@sueguffogg9705 I was driving hard today and checked my fuel computer, which showed 37mpg and an average of 41mpg ... so I could imagine a steady 45mpg easily with normal driving ... maybe more ... I don’t know what the official figures are. Spoke to one of my work colleagues today who’s also buying a Q2 (over and above a Kia Sportage) ... so that’s another vote lol. You won’t be disappointed 😀
Audi rang me today about trading in, and I'm really tempted to get another Q2, it's been such a great car. Great interior, great driving position and fun to drive.
Excellent review of Mrs Jackson - thank you very much. Personally, I'll go for the Ford Kuga
the eyebrow twitch when she wants to emphasize a point got me. ,,😘 great review, as always. 🤗
Another informative review. Enjoy listening to Rebecca a lot and she resists the temptation of trying to make funny quips and humorous remarks which is a trap some of her male counterparts fall into regularly.
I have just picked up my brand new q2 black edition and it’s a fabulous car yes the back seat it alittle small but there r a lot more about the car that makes up for that x
@markyes each to there own
@markyes it’s not supposed to be an SUV at all … it’s an A3 for those that want a higher ride with a bit more clearance and SUV type styling. Back seats are fine to me; it hasn’t got the most space, but it’s an A3v… what did you expect. The engine is superb, as is the ride. Why don’t you try driving one before being sad enough to knock a car you clearly haven’t driven. Stick to-your Nova mate!
I've got a 2019 b180..a 1332cc turbo mated to a 7 speed dct box and it has terrible lag and delay on the pedal..it's going back to mercedes for a software update to try and sort it..sounds similar to your car..👍
I would love the Audi SQ2... BUT I LIVE IN MASSACHUSETTS, U.S.A.
Test drove the Audi A1 automatic, really jerky gear change and seems to think about it before action, like overtaking!
Auto gearbox in the new Juke much better. Current car is a Juke. Next to test drive the Mini Countryman 🤔😀🤞
Excellent review 10/10
Uhhhhh that grey panel ... 😭
Realy I like it
Nice video. Did I just see the s line car to be without keyless start stop?
It’s better to have a key to start as people can’t nick it so easy
I have seen new Q2 on sale and interior is different especially in front, vents are like in more expensive model's, not circle shape.
Great review by Rebeca,as always, everything that you need to know and more explained simply cleverly by the best car reviewer on the net
Congratulations Rebeca, you are a lot more than a prety face you are a profesional
God bless you and keep cracking on this amazing job
+1
I love it
Nice car
I have an S-line, manual 35 with Teck pack on order, I'll report back once I've had it for a few weeks. Having sat in one, the back does feel smaller than expected, but the boot is bigger than expected and perhaps that's the compromise. I'd rather have the bigger boot.
Got it! What I really appreciate the most is how solid and premium the interior looks and feels. OK the centre screen is a bit small by modern standards, but the large digital cockpit makes up for it. I do wish I'd gone for the tech pack pro though (for the climate control). And for any car cleaners out there, it's actually quite an easy car to clean I'm finding. Even with the nice S-line detailing on the front and back it's a pretty flat paneled car all round. The engine is really strong too, it has a lot of pull.
Audi is never tired of impressing its BUYERS.....its always ahead of its rivals.
Not sure what version you have there but I don't think the 1.5 litre petrol is a turbo? "Transmission to hold lower revs for longer"? Surely you mean gears for longer, and isn't that the point of the sportier dynamic mode. 🤔
I’m torn between getting a Q2 or a VW Taigo, the Q2 is actually cheaper over a pcp deal
Sorry Rebecka Audi's and me parted on bad terms years back and would I be tempted with this - not a hope in hell but thanks for the update, good to see you are still working .
I’m sure Audi will rue the day Atholl McNicoll walked away from the brand
VW with better plastic i don't blame you and the image that comes with an owning an Audi 🤢 even makes BMW drivers look less like D****heads.
DID U GET TO LONDON THE DAY YOU WERE STUCK IN TRAFFIC WHILST DRIVING AN AUDI ON M3 NORTHBOUND ABOUT 3 WEEKS AGO.
I prefer the A3 & A4 s tronic
Thanks for another 5 foot four and a half review, excellent as always. Audi is just a badge snobbery thing. There are far better offerings for far less financial layout.
Says everyone who can't afford nice things!! 😆
Nonsense, Audi make some exceptional cars.
I have 2 audi. But then again, i am a surgeon
I really like the look of some Audis, but not how they drive at all!!
The auto boxes are all like this one. Really slow when you want to go fast, and then jerky around town, when compared to a manual.
VAG do it all though, so still end up with lots of my money!
Five Porsche in a row now 🙄
However, I just bought a 2019 i30N and it drives better than any of the RS Audi models.
I’ve been amazed by the thing, but I prioritise the drive, over the brand and interior plastic.
Nice! 😎🍻🤘🎸
I hired a Q2 recently and found it so uncomfortable. I wanted a Octavia but ended up with this. It's supposed to be an SUV so why do they give it rock hard suspension and tightly bolstered sports seats. I couldn't wait to get back in my big, soft, wallowy Citroen C5.
The suspension is adjustable you most likely had the car in dynamic mode as in comfort i find the ride quite smooth even when going down pretty rough side roads
Prefer a retractable screen like the previous gen. A3.
Apparently during a survey of owners it was very rarely used so it wasn't continued, would be nice to have the option though.
Why? It served no purpose … and the 8” screen on mine is a bit big to tuck away.
@@neli5p it's just way cooler bro and I hate a thing stuck on top of the dash which serves no purpose. Just cheap.
The reviewer looks Gorgeous looks cute
Not simping though
For me the VW T-Cross is where to go !
I tried the T-Cross … poorer quality interior, less user friendly and not as good a ride. I think they’re the same engine, but the level of finish and ride is very different. My colleague did buy one however … but after just a tear he’s part chopping it for a Q2. That’s 3 out of 5 of us in Q2’s now!
The reviewer's a lot nicer than the car.
Pay attention lad, but my arm doesn't need any twisting to agree.
@@gregoryuk ççççşllkll
Simp
Audi q2 vs VW t-roc vs Skoda Karoq comparison video would be nice 🙂
Why ?
@@73willyg I am planning to buy any of these VW group's mid sized SUV's. Hence I would like to make an informed decision.
Backseat legroom is matched only by VW Up and cars in that size. How you can claim that it’s ok amaze me.
Whatever 🙄 it looks nice and this is the way forward.
Rebecca is so beautiful
In the T-roc you’ll have the same engine
But the T-Roc has more space 😉
And driving experience completely different, troc is boring af
@@k3rr1g.4n6 Really? Please tell me why. I thought it’d be better.
You are right. Having driven both, I found the Q2 to be way more fun and responsive. I call the T-Roc, with its cheap plastic interior, the “You should have got a Golf” car.
No grey cat? Bwoah...
Hatchback to crossover
Just change their
WHEELS
Er after a test drive and buying elsewhere I can confirm no it's not even in the top 10...
So what did you buy? I’m just starting to look and have this one, T-Roc and T-Cross on my list with a budget up to £25k...
Vw T-Roc in disguise !!!!
Oh my German girl would love this but my Swedish girl stuck on Volvo then my American girl loves Ford smh! Life is a B!
2008 is better in every aspect
Rather get a A3 for the money
For such a premium price their reliability is shocking.
You’ve clearly got a Friday car then … as I did 140,000 miles in my last one without ANY issues, and my new Q2 of 6,000 miles (in 7 weeks) is just as reliable!
@@neli5p you can look in any reliability survey online audi doesn't even make top 15. Luck of the draw but they are infamous for electrical faults etc.
@@joe80ss I don’t go by surveys, I go buy having owned MANY Audis and two Q2’s myself. I know many people with Audi’s and can’t recall anyone have issues with electrics. Infamous in your mind maybe, but not in the real world or from any data I’ve ever seen!
@@neli5p well like you I know many in the UK who have had Audi's 5 years or older and all of them have moaned about electrics, ignition issues, suspension issues etc
www.whatcar.com/news/best-and-worst-older-cars-for-reliability-best-brands/n21160
@@neli5p Only people I see complain about audis are people who have never even driven one. Jealousy springs to mind. I have a Q3 sport 1.5 L petrol 148HP its hands down one of the best cars and engines i've ever driven.
Not everyone wants a crossover like this ....
You’re joking … you mean not everyone wants a car like this? Really? Do you think you can find something else as an alternative? I sure hope so.
Basically NO, its an old over priced car which looked "peculiar" even on its launch. A Seat Ateca or VW T-Roc would be my choice.
In my opinion, you can get the Skoda Kamiq or the Renault Captur , with the same characteristics in a way better price. 20k is way better than 25+k for almost tha same car.
No , i prefer 2008
All the best come in small packages yeah the car, but 100% Rebecca, by far the no1 reason to watch CarGuru 😀
Rebecca.sei.bellisima.tanti.baci.ciao.salv.
Terrible interior. Those air vents are hardly subtle are they?
Better off with a Seat or Skoda. Technology is changing so fast that this will be so dated in 3 years, sorry Rebecca.
0:09 WTF?! Hell no! Never in my life will I buy a fn SUV.
Wayyy to expensive.
Audi vw the most predictable boring dull car brand in the world....yawn
The peugeot 2008 is way better than this in every aspect
Like hell i will ever buy a stupid useless suv.
That's an ugly automobile 🚘. What the heck are Audi and BMW , for that matter thinking .
Grannymobile
It’s a girl car
Beautiful Rebecca, ugly car.
Hopefully the crossover/ bloated hatchback trend will end soon.
Who cares about the car.....
Best? What the heck that's ONE ugly car like all Audis same boring designs
