I learned about the alternative here ua-cam.com/video/gfJ1HGCad3Y/v-deo.html and you can find the fromthenon olive tn here with my affiliate link: s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_DeF7X45

Nice comparison! I definitely don't need another one, but this one is worth considering if I'm ever in the market for one. Thanks for sharing, Linda! :)

The quality of the Travelers Company is different than this one that I also have. Good news is , the real one is back permanently 😊

Yes it will be cool to compare… definitely not the same leather type at all!

Such a teaser - I went down the Ali Express rabbit hole but made my way out without buying anything - at least for now 😅
How is the leather? Is it at all suede like or just smooth leather? I have one TN that has suede like leather and I have fallen for that now. If feels so soft to touch. Is the original camel suede like?

Yes, it is easy to fall down the rabbit hole and want all kinds of random stationery things! Comparing the dupe olive to my true camel, it is definitely not as fuzzy. But also comparing to my black train tn, the duper olive would be somewhere in between. But the inside is definitely fuzzier than train tn. I have not used it in traveling yet, but it does seem a bit on the dry.. so maybe it needs conditioning. I'm no expert on leather... but I recently conditioned my camels and they look so dark now! So I didn't want to touch the olive yet, because I like the color of it... not as dark and more green in general than the real olive tns... anyway for the price, it's fun to have it and play with... like a tenth of the price :)

@@tortagialla I tried to make some of my TN's softer so I put on some leather balm. I don't know if they got any softer but a lot darker in color. So I don't recommend, if you like to keep the original color. Of course I knew it, but was hoping to get a nicer feel on the leather but I don't think that I had success in this case.
I have noticed that how the leather feels is maybe even more important than how it looks. And that is so hard to know when shopping online...

@@Katiplans thanks for info! I haven’t had tns enough years to know how the feeling changes over a very long period of time… but I also think it depends on preference. Some people like to keep their covers pristine and others rough them up!
