I think the only reason I will never buy Travelers is because of the elastic strap being anchored at the back. It is a complete deal breaker for me. If they were ever to change that horrible feature, I'd definitely buy it. Until then, I am looking for comparable alternatives so this is really helpful. Thank you!
I am looking at the green cover for standard size. However, I also bought a Ravenclaw Travelers notebook in that size. So I think I will wait until the special editions come out in the summer.
Vegetable tan leather is higher quality than the leather used by the Traveler’s Company. I have the olive TN that was just released by the Traveler’s Co. and I’m disappointed in the quality. The interior is like some sort of bonded finish and not the natural suede of the leather. I’m thinking of getting the Moterm one. I have one of their weeks veg tan cover and I love it. I bought the Motern A5 in Khaki, loved it so much that I went back and bought the standard and passport. I love the idea of Travelers Company but I LOVE my Moterm covers!!!
Oh the Khaki one is really nice!! ☺️ Would love to have that one as a cover for my Field Notes, but I guess they won’t fit in the Passport cover since the Field Notes is 89 mm x 140 mm? 😕

It’s unfortunate that the Moterm ring planner doesn’t come in that colour in the pebbled version & just in the veg tan, because if it did, i’d get it pronto 🙈 (I’ve found that I like the pebbled one more since it lays a lot more flat than the veg tan I have in personal size). But I guess my bank account thanks me for that at least 🤪
Soo that is actually super super interesting about the spine on the moterm one. I’m super intrigued now as to why the spine is like that, and how they got it like that. If anyone knows hit me up lol

I’ve been eyeing this too because the khaki green seems like my kind of olive color than the TRC that is more dark!

Absolutely true. It is not as widely used due to its cost.
The problem with leather in general is marketing. Genuine leather means little to nothing.

That’s right fields notes is taller so it doesn’t quite fit in passport!

I think the reason people go Travelers Company is 2 fold. 1. Advertising/Marketing 2. All the hype by planner/journaling influencers on social media.
