    Never heard of this brand before…sounds like a good way to explore a Hobonichi style without the upfront commitment. Thanks for a very comprehensive review and share Linda! 😃

      I ordered one just yesterday! I ended up getting it, a cover, and a bunch of stickers and washi tape for less than the price of the Hobonichi Weeks alone.

    This was a very helpful video! I have been using a dated Kinbor for the last 2 years for my journal and I love it, especially the simplified layout without the quotes. I use fountain pens, water-based markers and watercolors and haven't had any problem with bleed-through. I heard from another UA-camr that "Bachuan" is a transliteration or translation of "Tomoe River" in Chinese. Which makes some sense when looking at the AliExpress listings.

    What a great review. I love how detailed your overview is on what comes inside these planners. I agree the others where it does feel like a nice dupe for the hobonichi techo planners. Love the pen test that you've done.

    I got my Hibino from Atlas Stationers for 2025 as well as a Hobonich Hon, Weeks, and Avec Days Free both in A5. I have never had an A6 and wanted to try it in a brand other than Hobonichi. After a year of bullet journaling in mostly A & O journals, I wanted to try tomoe river paper. I tested my fountain pens, gel pens, ballpoint pens, Tombows, and Midliners with absolutely no bleed through and minimal ghosting. I love them all! I already set them all up and have started some note-taking! I'm looking forward to a very fun and productive 2025! Hope you enjoy your Hibino!

      @@lalabeauty8121 I’m happy you were able to get the kinbor! Honestly I think it’s a great option because paper is nice and basically you get the same layout but without quotes on the bottom so you have more space to freely write or decorate. Sometimes I like the hobonichi quotes but sometimes they are weird and hard to relate to 🤣🤣🤣 I’ve also noticed the hobonichi pricing going up every year!!!

      @@tortagiallayeah pricing was the only reason make me choose kinbor over hobonichi :D in my country we cant get something above 30 dollars including shipping while buying from abroad and its already above that, plus we have to pay %60 custom fee so with shipping its around 80 dollars and some big stores sells it for 150 dollars :( just bought the kinbor one for 22 dollars (nearly hobonichi price for usa lool) im not sure how long i will stick to my planner, its gonna be my first one

      @@lalabeauty8121 Ahhh I can understand that it is a dramatic change! I am in Italy and we have 22% VAT plus any fees… sigh, there is nothing we can do about it! If their undated planners or notebooks have the same paper as their DATED papers, it will be really dope!! I just bought an 2025 A6 to try and so far I'm really loving the paper. I wished they have an AVEC A5 😊

      @@toastypandaco yes it is weird that it’s not the same paper but some people have undated weeks and said it is good paper - so maybe it’s a matter of understanding the listings properly! Unfortunately they don’t really have a cousin dupe - it’s daily pages only from what I’ve seen!

    I like your review! Regarding quality I think Hobonichi and co. has accustomed us to a really high standards. If I buy like an ordinary notebook or locally made planners, calendars they look like Kinbor and I'm fine with that. But then I think that Kinbor has the best layout as most of planners in my country have one page per weekends, add unnecessary stuff on the daily pages etc. It's clearly copied layout but it works best even as a notebook. And even though the quotes are Hobo trademark I think they have outlived their usefulness. I am most bothered by quotes in Day Free. I mean why??? I want a clear A6 or A5 page not 3/4 of a page!!! In this situation I prefer to get another Kinbor and have clean, full pages.

    • @tortagialla
      @tortagialla  Місяць тому +1

      @@mellodi Thanks for watching and commenting. Great point regarding the clean layout - I think that’s why people are moving to other options because so many people just cover the hobonichi quotes and that’s wasted real estate! I suppose standards are lower if the price is lower. If I paid hobonichi prices I would expect it to be perfect!
