Oh my!! You were just talking about your Polish farmer's market goodies and then I see Pistol sitting on a huge bowl of green beans. I was thinking - that's a lot even for the Green Bean Queen. Until I realized she was sitting on her special blanket. Hahahaha! Love your videos, thanks for taking us along for the ride. Safe travels.
We carry GCI folding rockers for camp (yes, we're older:-) ) and Helinox One chairs for the beach or carrying around. For sitting around the RV we both want something with arms, so all these smaller folding chairs are out. I made cross braces out of plastic pipe for the feet of the Helinox chairs so they don't dig in and sink in the sand, which work pretty well.
I just ordered a pair of the new Cliq Lounges today for a little Christmas present for husband and self and our little B van. Fingers crossed - they look really easy & comfortable and there was a YT video with a 6’3” tall guy and his head hit the pillow. (My husband is 6’2”, so I’m hoping it will work for him. ) They had them on a Black Friday 20% off, which pushed me to finally give them a try. Previously, we have tried the REI chairs you talked about - specifically the Camplite Dreamer, which requires way too much work to put up. Those little tinker toy shock-corded frames are a nuisance and it’s just physically hard to stretch it on and off the frame - regret that purchase. Got one Pico, husband likes it I hate it (too upright, no lumbar support), but we’ll keep it. And I have one large, heavy, but very comfortable Eureka! Highback Recliner. It’s bulky, but it’s also stable and sometimes one or the other of us has a back issue, and we just have to have something with sturdy arms to push up from and get in and out of. (We just do 2-3 week travels - we’re not van dwellers, so we don’t have to be quite as careful with what we bring along. So I will keep the four chairs for the two of us and ditch the REI chair. But, yeah, it’s a process.
I still haven’t found the perfect chair! Like your scenario Save likes a more upright position like the Pico offers but that’s too uncomfortable for me! Let us know how you end up liking the loungers!
@@CareyOnVagabond The Cliq Lounges arrived and my husband loves them; I am somewhere below neutral. It just doesn’t hit me right. I’m short and squatty and he’s tall and thin. He is 6’2” and the pillow hits him just right. For me it doesn’t. And the front edge doesn’t hit my legs in the right place. Like you, we have different sitting styles, which may have something to do with it, tho oddly, I am a sloucher and he likes our Pico. I can’t stand it unless I want to sit at a table. And no back support unless I put something in that gap. But he loves the Cliq Lounge much more than I do. The amount of reclining is very easily done with a couple of straps behind the head. They’re really an ingenious design. NB: the Cliq company has great customer service and they provide a prepaid return label and give you a month to try out your chair. So there’s really nothing to lose. I have nothing but praise for their customer service. We have a Winnebago Travato, and it has limited time garage space under the Murphy bed, and it’s clear that one chair is not gonna work for all occasions for us. But I have been thinking about getting us each one of the basic Cliq chairs like yours for the same reason. Just a little chair to have handy to toss up as an all purpose chair or you want to stop somewhere and have lunch and you put the chairs out and enjoy the view, eat your lunch and pull them back up again. I know, but I’ve had it with the tinker-toy shock-corded poles. Cumbersome, a handful to corral the legs; my hands are arthritic, and I physically cannot stretch that fabric over the pole ends.
Gci road trip rocker is the most comfortable chair I've found to relax my other chair that you sit up more in is a ZipDee. I bought it over 40 years ago and it will last the rest of my life. My parents bought there's in the 60's and I now have those and they are still holding up. Fold pretty flat. They cost a little over $100 now but they will outlast anything you can find. It seems like in the 60"s only Airstream dealers sold them. They're easier to find now.
"Now click it into shape, shape it up, get straight, go forward, move ahead, try to detect it it's not too late, to click it, click it good!" Now that I got that out of the way, my wife and I have a tri-fold crash pad for climbing that we use as a camp couch. Let me tell you what, lounging on a couch out in the boonies is grand. Otherwise, we have three legged camp stools. We are using our Pathfinder as our hard sided sleeping rig when we go climbing (griz country). So space is limited. Great video as usual! Carey On!
Polska kielbasa and real fermented sauerkraut...heck ya!!! I'm from Wisconsin originally and you just nailed it. Thanks for review on the chairs my friends. Carey on...
We still use the hard arm Cascade Gear chair from Bi-Mart. Very light, fold small, easy carry case with carry strap. Got first ones on sale for 9.97, now 19.97 but never paid more than 14.97 on sale. Have 6 total, one or 2 at a time. Like them so much we use them at home too. Keep newest in the van but still have a new extra. We take them in every day. Sun does ruin them around the seam tape. Also embers from the camp fire leave little holes when you get too close or the wind blows. 8 years haven't thrown one away yet but first ones are ratty at the seams. I love sauerkraut on Bar-S sausages in an outdoor roll. Grocery outlet has a great mild Polish salad. Mild enough to just sit down with a fork. Cabbage, onion and carrots. Strawberries are ripening in my greenhouse. Time for strawberry short cake....James
As a Polish person....when you have time try this! Peel and cube 3-4 potatoes and dice one medium onion. Fry the potatoes (add salt and pepper to taste) till 3/4 done and add the onion, cook till softened. Meanwhile slice some kielbasa and drain some sauerkraut. Once the onions are done to your liking, add the kielbasa and drained sauerkraut and cooked till heated through. Serve and enjoy! (You can add caraway seed or a diced apple to this dish) You can also pre fry the sliced kielbasa first, to give it a sear. Sit in your new chairs and yum!
We’ve been using the Helinox hi-back chairs in our Roadtrek Agile. They are expensive and there is a little setup work, but Im pretty fast now. They are comfortable, compact, very light weight and durable. Over 2 years with them so far. I expect we will have them for a long time. If we were looking, I would give your new chair a good look. Thanks for the tip on candied jalapeños. Got to try that. I found some caramelized onion jam at Whole Foods recently. Great substitute for the real thing.
That totally collapsible camping chair is really a nice chair you have. That chair would be great with enjoying some scones and favorite beverage. I also really don't use recliners.
Those chairs look great and I love the set up/take down. I have the Walmart Ozark Trail knock-off of the Helinox chairs. I’m happy with mine, but I’ll check out the Cliq ones if mine breaks.
Good timing! The boys just bought me yet another camp chair for my birthday (didn’t we just do that last year???). I’ll let you know if it survives my testing! My previous favourite I adore but way too heavy and takes up too much space in the RT. They also bought me an inflatable pillow for sitting on when only tree stumps or rocks around to sit on. Now time for the snow to leave and RV season to start! Will you make it to East Coast Canada this year?
Right now I have a Tommy Bahama (love the cooler) and Bob has a chair similar to the Iclimb. It works out when I sit to the right of him and we both use his table 😆. We are the same as you, I love to lounge, he likes to sit up, but I have the better view when the stars are out 😉. Hard to give up our system but we are looking for something more compact for the van garage. These look great for those long treks from Van to beach. No cup holders is tough. Can human innovation create the perfect chair?! Time will tell but love seeing everyone’s set ups on the road. Thanks for the video!
I have an Ostrich on your back chair and it's similar to the Tommy Bahama chairs. I LOVE IT! Only problem is they are NOT compact so they can't be a permanent resident in our van.
@@EricMarenyi woah woah woah. Just checked out the Ostrich chair you have. It looks super comfortable esp with the face hole 😂 and leg kick. But I see what you mean about it not being very compact. You win some you lose some with chairs !

Helinox makes a swivel chair. I haven't tried it but I have it on my list. Plus you can get a add on cup holder and feet to make the std Helinox a rocker.
We are using GCI chairs. Bulky and little heavy. We aren't full time RV'ers, but I consider getting rid of them when we are out. Lol. Side note: we tried the mustard sauce and it is delicious. Great find, thank you. Where did you find candied jalapeños? Those look yummy also. Carry On. 😊
Isn’t that mustard good!? The jalapeños we got at the Ocala Saturday market. We will keep our eye out on the road tho. Maybe a Whole Foods market type store. So good:)
My concern for the both of you is how much you two used the arm rests on both chairs, especially evident throughout the video, and the lack of them on the Cliq chairs.
Hi guys😃 so hard to pick out a new chair....like trying to find the right pillow...hope you like those chairs! Very compact. Now Irene about that quilt I saw on the bed...it's very pretty...did you make it? I got myself into a real pickle.
