Praying for a full recovery for Tyler. I had what he has and took chemo and radiation. Happy to say, I am in full remission. I have faith in the doctors and medication. I have faith he will come out fine. Yes each treatment is expensive!
My wife and I are very sorry to hear this. We will keep Tyler and your family in our prayers. I'm in remission a year ago of stage 4 lung cancer. I'm still doing treatments every 6 weeks with Keytruda. The medications these days can work miracles, and prayers go a long ways. 🙏
Just to give you a little bit of encouragement, my husband was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, stage four in one lung due to Agent Orange. He had 6 treatments every 21 days of RCHOP. With a lot of prayer and an amazing medical team at the VA in Houston, he is now considered cured going on 6 years. There is power in prayer and your son will be in my prayers. I’ll try to contribute.
I'm so sorry to hear what you're son is going thru and I'm glad his situation is stable. Try to stay strong and cheerful! I've lost 2 family members to cancer because they didn't have adequate health insurance and didn't get timely treatment. The US healthcare system is downright evil the way it's structured. This is the richest county in the history of the world, but we can't have universal healthcare when far less wealthy countries have been doing it forever? It's absurd and infuriating. Medical debt has ruined the lives of many people I know and that is inexcusable. We need to get our priorities straight in America, maybe spend less resources on endless wars and more on providing for the basics needs of our citizens. Colonoscopy prep is always a nightmare, but I can't imagine 2 people doing it in a van at the same time...yikes!
Dave and Irene, I'm a longtime follower and lurker from TX, but just wanted to say I'm sending every good vibe I have to your son and the both of you...I know Tyler will beat this thing. Speaking from my own experience, I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Colon Cancer last Spring at 59 years old, and went through the whole gamut - 30 rounds of radiation, 6 months of chemo, 4 surgeries....can't sugarcoat it, the treatments were tough and some days were awful, but happy to say I am now cancer-free and in "maintenance mode" where I have have blood checks and scans several times a year to make sure there's no recurrence. Tyler's got this! :D
There ain't no words that haven't been said already. We are down in Oregon now and headed back to WA in a few weeks. Home is in Tacoma so if you think of anything we can offer in the way of help please reach out. Sending all our Love

A normal policy is 80/20, but with a max annual patient payout of maybe $1,000-$5,000 annually. It’s the wages lost if he doesn’t have short term care through his employer, and the prescription co-pays can be tough. God bless his journey - the mental health part of any cancer or heart diagnosis can be really tough, so glad you are there for him. Thanks for sharing.
Good to stay positive, your son will need all the positivity he can get. Just lost my best friend two months ago, cancer sucks, keeping you and Tyler in our thoughts and hearts. 4 colonoscopies for me, not fun but necessary. You guys are great.
Thanks for sharing. Family support is tremendous help for him and you. Insurance is almost as bad as his cancer! Sorry for your son. We're stuck in FL this summer as our Best Friend had medical care at UF. Wife had ca tx several years ago when we began F.T. rv'g. She is my private nurse and knows all the insurance hoops to jump through and was a great asset to our friends here. Offer still stands to meet up at Satchel's Pizza. My apologies for not becoming a Patron....

Prayers for your son and Mom and Dad. My first born daughter's colon cancer journey was tough on all of us. We battle for 10 years. My cousin had the same cancer as your Son and she has been great since treatment was finished many years ago. She was in her 30's and now in her 60's. So keep a positive attitude and keep just being present for him. Please keep us updated.
I am so sorry that you, Tyler and your family are going through this. It is so very hard as parents to watch your child suffer. My daughter is a stage 4 breast cancer survivor and I recall how helpless I felt and how much I wished I could go through the chemo, surgery and radiology for her. Tyler is so lucky to have such wonderful parents who are there for him and maintaining a positive attitude which I believe is a huge factor in the outcome. We watch you having such good times on the road, it’s easy to forget that you are people too, with many of the same the challenges and ups and downs we all experience. I am so grateful you continue to share and spread that positive ‘Carey On’ energy through it all. Thank you! ❤️ I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.
Thank you so much ❤️🙏 You’re right, there’s nothing we wouldn’t do to take this from him. So sorry you had to go through that with your daughter. And so happy to hear she’s a survivor! 💪🏼❤️

It will be rough going and it’s a good thing that you two are there for him. He will get to a point with treatment that you’ll need to help take care of him. I'm sorry to hear this news, but am glad you're able to be with him, and it sounds like he has a great support system. I'm also sorry to hear about your brother, Irene. Losing siblings is its own kind of loss and heartache. I will keep you all in my thoughts and hope for only the best of results for your son and for you, Irene. I know it isn't the same disease, but my husband has adult-onset cystic fybrosis, (yes, it's a thing) and his medications are about $500,000 a year. But we found that there are programs that will help with the cost of the medications. Perhaps have Tyler ask his doctors if they can give you any information about any programs he might qualify for.
So sorry your son is having to go through cancer and at such a young age. Wonderful he has you by his side.....love your positivity! Wishing you all good news as you Carey on.
Your positive energy is always a great thing to see, and I truly believe it helps not just with mental health, but physical health, too. I’m sure it’s helping Tyler as he fights through this.

I love you guys and the positive energy you put out to the world, even in the recent months' challenges. So glad to hear Tyler's prognosis is good ❤.
Thank you, we just have to Carey On! ❤️
Thank you for the kind words. We will be looking into some other programs some have recommended. 🙏💙
So sorry your son is having to go through cancer and at such a young age. Wonderful he has you by his side.....love your positivity! Wishing you all good news as you Carey on.
Thank you!
My prayers for you guys along with your son. He will get thru this🙏👍
He will!!🙏❤️
Your positive energy is always a great thing to see, and I truly believe it helps not just with mental health, but physical health, too. I’m sure it’s helping Tyler as he fights through this.
We do think staying positive has helped us through a lot of challenging times. And it does seem to be contagious. We’ll get through this! 💙💪🏼
Sending so much love and virtual care to you and your family. Thanks for sharing as sad topics are not easy to bring public. ❤
Thank you ❤️
