Window tint is absolutely a game changer in sunny climates. I have ceramic window tint installed on every vehicle I buy, including the windshield. It not only makes the interior of the vehicle more comfortable, but it blocks the harmful UV and IR rays that damage your skin, eyes and vehicle upholstery. It must be ceramic based tint for proper UV/IR blocking. Good move!
We've been talking about tinting our van windows for a couple years now. Same as you - "oh, it'll be expensive, etc., etc." We're in the Keys right now and we are absolutely going to get ours tinted as soon as we get back to Central Florida, later this week. Thanks for the nudge!
We just bought a car with all rear windows tinted. I never gave it a thought till I realized no one can see our dog in his back seat bed. Excellent! Now might get rest of windows done. Enjoy
When I got my Jetta tinted I also had them do a 90% strip about 6" or 8" wide at the top of the windshield. It cut sun glare and the need to use the sunvisor by 80%. Safe travels!
Can you please share the info for the person who did the tint? Also what ceramic product did they use? Did you do clear for the front windshield? I need this done ASAP. Thx. I'm excited to hear about your next adventure!
Tint Actions in Ocala, Florida but there are plenty around Florida. I believe the legal windshield stuff is called non reflective but still blocks the same heat and uv as the tinted. Each state has different laws on darkness of tint. Any tinter should be able to help you out.
I did the lightest ceramic on my three sprinter windows so it would match and it wouldn’t look tinted. I feel like that was a mistake. Should have went darker but I was concerned about night driving. As you get older this is an issue.
i jist watched your vid from 3 years ago about your sumo spring install, really helpful. I started to look further at your page and so cool to see youre still doing the van life thing and pistol is still there too. Different hair do's as well!😎
Hi travelers, we’ve been back in Florida for the last month enjoying Anastasia, Gamble Rogers and Tomoka SP. Thanks for the window tinting lead. Looking forward to your next adventure. ☮️❤️
Yup ! good move for sure. Another thing i've installed and love is the Eclipse Sun Shade for the wind shield . As long as you don't have any internal mounts on your windshield its great. Excellent company and serviceable parts. ~peace~
Been to BArberville a few times as I drive from ohio to the villages and cut across from Ormand beach to the Villages. Crazy stuff there. Lots of cool looking pottery. Funky is right! Safe travels.
The info on the ceramic tint is very timely for me. I'm getting ready to have old tint removed and replaced on RT door windows and didn't know about the ceramic for windshield! I want to get it on my Prius too. I swear the windshield and hatch window are as long as I am tall....and HOT. Missed those spoons again. You keep carving and I'll keep trying.
@@CareyOnVagabond Aw...thanks. I really look forward to your videos. You are such an easy going couple and I enjoy your adventures....and Pistol, of course! Happy travels.💞
Hi to you all! We had our Hymer windshield replaced for the 2nd time last week. The van mileage is 75K. Did you tint the front window also? Thanks for sharing 👍
Ceramic window tinting seems like a must for van dwellers. Glad you guys got it done. Can't wait for details of your new adventure. I'm on pins and needles. Still can't do much physically because of my broken rib and surgically repaired collarbone. Sat on a recumbent bike for 15 minutes Friday. My rib hurt all the next day. I'm guessing Dave, after your bicycle accident, it was hard to sit still and just heal? So... I'm relying on you guys to take me out and about on adventures till I'm cleared to get out and climb this summer. Carey On!
@@CareyOnVagabond Thanks, I bruised my hip pretty badly in the fall as well. But as it heals, I'm able to walk a little further each day. Be safe out there my friends and ... Carey On!
Any chance you can film the van from the outside to show us how well it blocks the view of people trying to look into the van? Not having to get out all the window coverings would be a huge time saver and make the van much more stealth. Thanks
Yes uv-protected Windows really do work. I can hardly wait for the Epic surprise next Sunday and it's probably going to be, I'm guessing, an epic scone recipe. Yeah!
SCORE # 13 🤗🤗🤗And I use every single one Dave and a couple have been wounded with a little burn But no mind that's the patina! Oh man...can't wait to hear about up coming journey 😃 All hale the Green bean Queen🎺 now no one can spy on you 😉 Carey on 😃
Can’t recall the percentage. The windshields not really a tint but a non reflective material that blocks as much heat and uv as any dark tint. The sides are dark enough that night driving is not effected.
Both front and side windows. For the front the non reflective doesn’t really tint the window but it blocks as much heat and uv as the tinted stuff. Really impressive.
@@CareyOnVagabond Went and had this done. Being in the Northeast haven't had a chance to really try it out yet, but already feel the difference going into the van on a sunny day.
@@CareyOnVagabond that’s so cool. I didn’t even know that existed. We will have to do this bc our dog sits in the front when we leave too when she could be sitting in the cooler back 🙄 🐶. PS. I absolutely LOVE the new logo!!!

I did my topside of the windshield. That also is a game changer in South Texas.
Game changing for sure. Especially on the Promasters barn door size windshield:)
I tinted my Promaster windows, tint color and doors windows and Clear ceramic on the windshield... it is probably 40% cooler. Great Idea to share.

Yes but with non reflective. Stops the heat and uv as good as any tint tho!

Yay!! Didn’t I send you my first risotto spoon? How’s it holding up?
What percentage tint did you get?
What states are now illegal for your vehicle?
How does it affect night time visibility?
Can’t recall the percentage. The windshields not really a tint but a non reflective material that blocks as much heat and uv as any dark tint. The sides are dark enough that night driving is not effected.
I've been thinking about this. What windows did you do, windshield and front doors?
Both front and side windows. For the front the non reflective doesn’t really tint the window but it blocks as much heat and uv as the tinted stuff. Really impressive.

I’ve driven a car with a tinted front windshield before and I found it to be too dark at night. How is that going for you ?
The windshield is what they called non reflective and not really tinted. But it has the same heat and uv qualities as any shade of tint.
