The Cliq chair fits a specific use case. For me, I just bought two with the 15% Black Friday discount. It also came with a bag to hold the two chairs. For me it’s about the compact size. I have a small convertible sports car, and space is at a premium. Having two comfortable chairs that store in such a small place fits my use case.

I personally can’t recommend the chair at the current $99 price point. We bought two for watching our daughters soccer games on the weekend. If you have a club soccer kid you know that is a lot of weekends. Just this past weekend one arm broke and two of the plastic feet cracked and broke off. I feel $75 is a fair price point.

I actually just bought one i love it but yes it is to heavy for any hiking trip but for just camping out around the fire pits its great 👍

This chair has interested me for a while. I'm not 100% sold on buying it yet because of its price, but I do like the convenience as well as the size of it. Weight doesn't matter quite as much to me as we travel with a camper or do car camping. It's mainly that I want something that doesn't take up a lot of space, and is easy to set up and take down. Cliq ticks those boxes! I'm still on the fence though. We have 2 of the Ozark Trail backpacking chairs, but they aren't the most comfortable or the easiest. I'll probably eventually buy Cliq! Thanks for your review!

Have had it saved in my Amazon cart for many months. I refuse to $100 on this chair but if it drops, I’ll get one. $100 is just way too much for a hiking chair

Yeah, even at the $90 price it's too much.

Really like your idea of a lower price point if you buy multiples. Would love to get one for each member of my household which would be four chairs. Paying full price is way too expensive.

Cliq actually already does this, but they only shave about $10 off per chair. The best bet if you MUST have one is to regularly check Amazon for open box or used chairs at a discount. The chair we show in this video was an open box we found for $70.

The "average person" isn't going to go backpacking. And, maybe there are backpackers who take a chair like this with them - but I'll stay with my Crazy Creek for pack trips. These chairs are designed for car camping, outdoor concerts, a day at the beach, maybe watching a kids game where an extra 1lb won't be noticed. To compare ANYTHING for $25 from Walmart to a similar item for $100 seems folly. Those little spindly legs on the Walmart chair seem like they would push right into soft earth and sand in seconds (much like the REI Flexlite does which is why few backpackers use them). Those content with a $25 Walmart chair for backpacking are likely the same people content with a Ozark Trail backpack. "Hey Walmart has a 50L backpack for $40 why spend $350 for an Osprey?" You get what you pay for - to each their own.

Speaking as someone who goes backpacking and has many friends who are avid backpackers, Walmart's $25 chair is very popular and unusually affordable for what it is. Comparable products at REI start at $80, and don't offer any unique design or durability advantages. This is truly a case in which paying more money for a "quality brand" isn't necessary.

@@slickdeals Walmart is filled with shoppers who like their prices and quality - that's great, to each their own. And, as I mentioned I don't know any backpacker who takes an REI Flexlite back packing either. They're not really considered all that great of a chair from what I've heard. I've noticed that some people just need the REI brand to feel like they're hip outdoors people....kind of like people who buy North Face from Costco.

Are those other two chairs (REI, Walmart) really comparable? Their thin frames sure don't look like they can support 300lbs. In all seriousness, I wouldn't trust my pet panda on either of those other models, but I think this one can do the job.

Both those chairs support up to 250lbs. So not exactly the same, but certainly comparable.
If we're talking about bigger individuals, the Cliq certainly accommodates more bodies.

too expensive and heavy for hiking and they don't even give you a bag for it

So f****** what... If you dont have 30secs to unfold a chair on your hike, then you are doing it wrong... 😅

Just not worth it. Why pay that much for a chair that you carry around. There are far better and cheaper alternatives.
