Remember when the phrase "real men wear pink" was popular? The new catch phrase now is "strong men talk flowers". As a fairly new viewer, nice to see the family. If you ever visit our area, a cold one is in the frig with your name on it.
Wow, what a story! That rose is close to being indestructible! LOL. This is a great format guys with the sit and chat about true experiences with these roses. Hey it's your garden and you want it to look its best...so if coming out and picking out the beetles is what you have to do...well. Such a floriferous rose! Thanks for sharing this!
Thanks for sharing. Now I know where to plant Harlow Car. Next to my sitting area on the patio so I can smell it. I just got three rosed in the mail today from David Austin. Harlow Carr, Olivia Rose and Roald Dahl.
I've been researching which is the best rose to get for my south florida gardening. The way you talk about this harlow crow convince me to give it a try. Thank you for that video.
Watching a video I'm always thinking about the next one lol no pressure there guys😆. I enjoy it so much. I love the stories being the roses and all. Ambrose always put on that smile talking about roses✌️just like when guys talk about soccer or MMA fighters 😂. Enjoy your coffee and enjoy the rest of this beautiful day.
Hello! Happy Monday! 💚 We will definitely have more rose videos to share. We are making sure we capture every single one. It’s been fun running around and making videos about them. Yes! Ambrose loves roses! When I first started to plant them in our pasts gardens he started to love deadheading them. After that he just fell in love with roses. Glad you enjoyed! Have a lovely day! 🙏💐💚
Angie/Ambrose thank you so much for providing us with all this information, I like that you guys get right into the discussion regarding the care, pruning. Speaking of, Ambrose was talking about shaping, how do we know which way we cut or prune to shape? Yours always look so well groomed, almost professional. Thanks for all the videos, love you guys ❤️
I love this style of video and your conversation about your roses. It's useful info for viewers interested in finding the perfect rose - for their zones or for more personal considerations like the scent! I only wish we could smell them... I remember very thorny roses from my childhood too(I am older than you guys), but I believe thorns were for the most part bred out of American roses. Along with the scent! Can't wait for more.
I am still having such trouble with black spot herein Florida! I used the bio advanced 3 times already 14 days apart like the bottle says in the directions and pulled of all the bad leaves ( stripped them completely... what a job!) You guys told me you use it every 14 to 21 days all year so I am gonna try that because blackspot is an awful problem here and it’s no fun! Your roses look just fabulous! It’s so nice that your both so into it! God bless!🙏🌹🙂
Ive ordered strawberry hill, bathsheba, lycida for 2022. I’m considering Harlow Carr. Harlow Carr is a park with gorgeous flower beds in Harrogate UK. I used to live across the street from it. The flowers were beautiful and there was always something in seasons year round. I’m concerned about the thorns, but I think I can manage with it.
Wow I’m so happy I found ur channel I love love hydrangeas as well I have ever kind except the line hydrangea but working on getting one .My hydrangeas go bad in a Container so I decided to put them on the ground and they there has been a big difference I haven’t gotten blooms but new leaves are coming out so can’t wait to see these gorgeous blooms Hope you can do another video on how dangerous.I’m in zone9 Texas
OMG! Thank you guys SO much for doing this video!! Harlow Carr was the first rose that I was going to order, but ended up removing it from my order, because my research found that it doesn't grow that tall and the area where I wanted to plant it needs some good height. Nevertheless, I have always saId that I am going to eventually get it. I didn't know when - and, truth be told - it probably wasn't going to be this year UNTIL this video. Your "boys" look absolutely beautiful!! I love your rose talk with coffee segments and like the last comment, I'll have to grab a cup of tea (my preference) or some hot cocoa to watch these going forward. I'm curious, what did both do to combat the aphids with this rose? I just ordered IV Organics today, thanks to your suggestion. It has great reviews online. Thank y'all as always! :-)
Hi guys, I’m in Jacksonville so any tips on black spots, diseases, and insect tips will be greatly appreciated!! Great vid, keep up the great work! We used to be on pointer st , we loved Quantico.
I LOVED the video with the two of you having coffee and chatting about the roses! The Harlow Carr roses are gorgeous where do you get David Austin Roses?
That is a wonderful idea! I’ll have to look into getting some. Sometimes those beetles fall to the ground when I’m picking them. Thank you for sharing! 🙏💐💚
@@GardenObsessions Before they can fly they're underground larva or like grub worms. At the end of the summer they lay their eggs in the soil under the grass. It might help that I have many moles in my garden too. In July when it's close to time for them to come out I prep all plants in my yard and even my neighbors to keep them from eating my Hardy Hibiscus, Roses, and hydrangeas. This at least slows their cycle down and kills a good amount of them so less laying eggs and breeding in my lawn. It's worked well so far
I love hearing your thoughts about the roses. I don’t have rose plants yet but recently ordered several ( more than 20 - I was on a rose rampage hahaha. Only one DA [Abraham Darby bought from Heritage Roses], because the soonest available shipping from DA is in February 2022 ☹️
Can you guys rate David austins by how quickly drop blooms? Thanks :) if you can include weather when blooms drop. I’m in zone 10b Los Angeles and my blooms dropped pretty fast. It’s a young rose I got Alnwick and lady of the lack :)
Thank you for this informative video! They are absolutely beautiful! I’m running out of room for roses. 2 questions: 1) what is the red container rose over Angie’s right shoulder? 2). What are (if any) some good DA climbing roses I can plant in shady area? Thank you!
Hello! Running out of room! Time for climbing roses! 😆 Always a way right?!? Or start planting some in pots. 😁 The red rose by my side is Oso Easy Double red from Proven Winners. Our favorite PW rose! Maintenance free, self cleaning, disease resistant, no black spot it’s the perfect rose. Always blooming! We will be talking soon about a shade climber. One we have that’s doing amazing is Gertrude Jekyll climbing rose from DA. That might be our next video. 🙏💐💚
Hi, i have a question about Harlow Carr rose compared with Gertrude Jekyll. I would like to know how similar their scent is, i know that both have an old rose scent, but is it similar? Is one more rosy or sweet than the other?Because i want to buy both but I don't want it to be equal lol. Thank you
Gertrude has a sweeter but very strong. Harlow is more zesty at times smell lemon with old rose. But it depends on the climate roses sometimes change fragrance depending the temperature. 💐💚💚💚💚💚💚
Harlow has descent base life I do have other roses that last longer but it’s a lovely rose to bring in. The rose blooms bouquet after bouquet of flowers ready to just cut and enjoy its lovely old rose strong fragrance. 💐💚

I use a beetle killer granule on my lawn during the Spring to get some of those monster beetles when they're like grubs in the ground
That is a wonderful idea! I’ll have to look into getting some. Sometimes those beetles fall to the ground when I’m picking them. Thank you for sharing! 🙏💐💚

That’s so true! They are already underground. It’s a wonderful way how you tackle things down before they start to come up. 💐💚
