I had watch your videos on the CRKT TUETO back in 2021 and I remember thinking “If there is an detent issue with the knife just send it back for a replacement?” Well fast forward to 2024 and I found a good deal on a CRKT TUETO and couldn’t pass it up. I really like the knife design and everyone was talking on UA-cam about how powerful and smooth the spring assist was. When I tried to flip mine open for the first time the detent was so stiff the knife almost wouldn’t flip open. We tried to adjust the pivot screw but that just made the blade sloppy and didn’t address the lockup detent. So I went back and watched the review video here at gidensstuff and that when I learned about taking the knife apart and removing the spring to essentially make this a manual opening knife. It worked perfectly as I followed this video step-by-step. Thanks for the solution and I really enjoy my CRKT TUETO.
Mine is quite a lot of pressure on the release. I'm going to try to grind a thin spot on the spring load bend area or remove it altogether like the vid.
I agree. Assisted knives certainly have their place, but I think you should be able to easily de-assist your knife if you want. Best of both worlds! Thanks for watching!

Glad I could help, man! Comments like this are why I do what I do👍
I attempted to do this with the Flipper Squid. It turned out like LuvThemKnives' Lanny. I guess every model is different.

Does the blade have a detent hole?
Yes sir
This is how companies should do assist going forward. There is a kershaw I like that I hope will be like this.

Lock up ?, almost half ?
Thanks so much for this! Yes really bummed when I heard this was assisted, happy to see that this is an option.
No problem! Thanks for watching! It is a very easy and satisfying de-assist
