@@t1uan98 not when flying in the UK. You can retrospectively apply for the C1 certification however if you're taking abroad with you from, DJI. Some of the classics were incorrectly shipped with C1 labels but were EU stock apparently. Got my original 3 certified which will be handy for taking abroad this summer. It's an amazing drone, handles wind so well too.
I upgraded from the Mini 2 to the Mavic 3 Classic and was blown away. It’s literally better in every way. The part I like the most is how it is unbothered by higher winds. And the camera is amazing. Really happy with my upgrade.
Nice. The telephoto lens is one of my favorite features on the standard Mavic 3..that dreamy soft focus as you gather parallax effect on a tower a mile or 2 away is unique among drones. It is pricey though so there's room for other models.
@@DMProductions For the consumer? Brilliant move. More choice is always a win-win for manufacturer and end user! Surprised you used some of DJI's stock clips of APAS with that bike through the woods. If it could ever be that good at OA. My biggest disappointment is low sun, bright ground (snow, white sand) seem to flare the wide angle OA sensor lenses. Early FW would have it climb to highest set altitude, and my Mavic 3 still stops some hyperlapses towards setting sun with "obstacle detected" -when its 50 meters above everything. Glass lenses flare in certain lighting.
Thanks for your comment! I'm a real estate photographer in the USA. Of course I like the zoom lens on my regular camera because I don't have to move my feet so much when composing the shot. Also, in tight spaces, I can't always back up, so zooming to a wider focal length is needed. But on a drone? I couldn't understand why I would need a longer focal length when I could just move the drone closer. It doesn't seem worth the cost. But yes, having a lens with a longer focal length will help to provide shallow depth of field when you need it. Most of my work has everything in focus, but there are times when adding "that dreamy soft focus" adds a nice mood to the shot.

There are tons of opportunities and this seems like a perfect tool. In the meantime it seems possible to get started even with the Mini 2.
Unless someone is intending only to provide photo/filmography services with their drone, I really cannot see any great benefit without 3rd party app support like Litchi or Dronelink. For anything else (at least in a beginner level), my opinion is better start off with the Mini 2 as it is supported, has amazing abilities and weighs less than 250g!

I love having the zoom feature on my Mavic 3. I honestly didn't think I would use it that much but I was wrong. I use it just about every flight. I can't imagine not having it now.
Personally, I think it's a hard sell over a Mini Pro 3 and its advantages. I am an amateur with other Sony/Nikon Pro video/DSLR equipment using the 10bit Mini 3 Pro for drone footage; the Mini Pro 3 holds its own admirably.
Well, this is more cinematic drone, 200mbps vs 150, quite bigger sensor and more advanced in some aspects like colour science, has omnidirectional sensors and better transmission , oh yeah also had LOG versus cineD, it’s hard call in my opinion

Fascinated by the pricing. On DJI Website the Care refresh price of the classic is exactly £100 lower than the standard Mavic 3. Even though they are saying the classic doesn't have gimbal lock which apparently helps protect the gimbal. Have to say, I'm confused and slightly put off the standard mavic 3 was hoping to get hold of later in the year as today it seems over priced when you do the number crunching on DJIs own site.
the mavic 3 classic is really good value, esp if you have a rc from the mini 3, I hardly ever used the zoom/explorer camera as it was limited to 4k so this drone having all the same other features is very good

I love this drone. Got the Mavic 3 with telecamera and the thermal one. Great drones. Good image quality and amazingly stable in the air. Btw big update today for the regular Mavic 3 (1800mb) with c1 label support.
Does the Mavic 3 support the smart controller at all, or is that where the RC Pro comes in to play? Tempting, but the DJI RC is so light to hold. Potentially means shelling out for the RC Pro I suspect to be completely happy.
hey it doesn't, the rc pro is really good but ive been really liking the DJI RC, I like the small weight and ease to bring it along with you, the 300nits less doesn't seem to be a huge difference either, but that said the rc pro does have a brighter screen and is faster. You can use this with the N1 controller too with a phone
I would prefer to have the tele-lens option available, and would buy just the drone because I already have the RC, but I wonder whether the latest stock of the M3 will be sold with a C1 label.
Thanks for the awesome review, Darren! I’m sure glad I didn’t sell my kidney for the Mavic 3!😂 I’m still flying my old Air 2, but this looks like an awesome upgrade. I’ll definitely use your link when I purchase. Thanks for the great content!
Thank you Mike 😊😊 it’s a massive upgrade I’m so glad the released this esp with the c1 label and cruise control / night video , but with the massive battery life ! It’s brilliant !
This is what I've been waiting for! Finally an "affordable" upgrade to my Mavic 2 Pro. There was never a situation where i would have needed the zoom, so this is perfect for me.
Useful review as always. I have the Mavic 3 Pro, will that get a retrospective give C1 via a software update ? I see that the latest software update also gives Cruise Control and Night mode etc. Any views on the C1 for the M3 Pro ?
I've been flying the Mini 2 and Mini 3 Pro for a couple of years now. I have a flyer ID. This drone looks to be a good additional drone. You imply I can fly it anywhere I can fly my Mini 3 Pro but do I need to have additional certification before I can do that?
Can somebody explain why the price is only 100-200$ less than a regular DJI Mavic 3. Also DJI Mavic 3 is an old drone which is usually on discounts or you can buy used one very cheap...
@@thomashardy9994 In the stores in Sweden. The regular Mavic 3 costs around 2200 USD and Classic costs 2000 USD. The same difference goes for Fly More combos 2800 USD and 2600 USD. And I saw a few times Mavic 3 Cine almost new for 3000 USD on Marketplace. All this doesn't make sense for me.
Wow, I'm so glad I didn't get the A2S now. Especially if it can hover for the battery life (please tell us how long it takes to recharge the battery on the review), that is why I couldn't decide on the Mini. It makes it sound like there is no room for an Air 3 unless it is better than the Mavic 3 🤔.
the mavic series is the top line so any future air series will always have less features, normally the lack of sideways protection is a key one. I was getting really good battery life 40mins plus and about 90mins for a full charge
Great video, It's my only alternative because I need it for Real Estate photography but can't afford Mavic 3Pro. I like all your videos well explained to beginner in this new industry
Seems that they removed the gimbal lock that the Mavic 3 has? (That’s a pity). Wonder if they’ll add the night mode (which I believe requires different licensing to fly at night), and the cruse control to the older Mavic 3? - or are they simply to sway you to the new classic?
Hi, I wanted to know if the Mavic 3 / Cine filters can be mounted on the Mavic 3 Classic. I saw you use Freewell filters, I would like to take the PolarPro ND/PL Vivid collection (obviously those without the division between the two cameras).
Very nice video Darren. I will be getting one if these. What would happen if you set Cruise control to fly straight ahead and then you totally lost signal ? Thanks.
Hello! Could you answer, does DJI solved those issues in M3 Classic? 1) Longtime satellites search, upto 2 min each flight, and GLONASS not used again 2) Raw (DNG) photos have black corners as used lens dont cover full sensor area 3) Flickering while hyperlapse, even in full manual settings (WB, shutter etc.)
Watch ‘All About Drones’ on UA-cam, one of his friends knows a lot about the ins and outs of rules etc, he has stated at the moment there’s a loop hole, and the C1 label can be effective if stopped by the law etc.
@@Lee-zg3gx aye, seen that one. Good news that. Classic can be flown under new C1 rules, bad news is CAA have recommended a review of C label system and associated rules.
@@grahamniven Reviews can also mean good, not always negative. Fingers crossed whatever happens, the UK needs to get their fingers out their arses, because this has been dragging on way too long!
I am considering purchasing the M3 Classic. The Mavic 3 and Mavic 3 Pro do not interest me. I have a Mavic 2 Pro Hasselblad, and it does all I ever need. I do more photography than video and the 20 MP res is still the same on M3. I dont need the digital zoom feature either. However, the Classic longer flight time and night photography features are appealing. The downside of my Mavic 2 pro is the battery. I have had several batteries replaced due to swelling. DJI has replaced them for me under warranty. Its a common problem caused by excessive heat. I live in Texas and its very hot during the summer. I do not fly when the temperature reaches 95 degrees F. to keep my batteries from getting to hot. My question is. Does the Mavic 3 battery have the same problem with the battery swelling or expanding?
Hi Darren does the C1 clarification mean you can take it to say Majorca without needing to apply for permission now. Brilliant video once again as always very well explained Thanks
I fly a Mavic 2 and use an iPad mini, the larger screen is helpful due to my older eyes. Is it possible to use IPad Mini with a 3rd party mount with these controllers?
I just did a search about the Classic and you showed up first. I gotta tell you though, until you spoke, you looked like an average guy I'd see in the grocery store here in Alabama. The flannel shirt and the baseball cap are a great disguise. Awesome info on the Classic btw!
Were you able to find ND filters for the Classic? New new camera housing doesn't appear to be compatible with other Mavic 3 filter mounts and I haven't been able to find anything on the market yet.
The mavic 3 has a 28x zoom the classic has no tele lens just 3x digital zoom but if you don’t need that zoom save some money it’s a very good drone ! More to come
New DJI RC update in today, I have the Mini 3, after I checked settings I have Hyperlapse cruise control now as an option for C2, will this work on the Mini 3?

Apologies for separate comments; trying to avoid huge multi-issue one. Current ND Filters using a single piece of glass, with no dividing line will work, correct? Are mounting locations identical? The camera housing dimensions LOOK identical to the dual camera setup, and you have ND filters mounted here. You tried several? hey it doesn't, the rc pro is really good but ive been really liking the DJI RC, I like the small weight and ease to bring it along with you, the 300nits less doesn't seem to be a huge difference either, but that said the rc pro does have a brighter screen and is faster.
Cruise control is game changing, I can now fly far more steady and Pan shots/ videos etc without worrying about accelerating by accident.
This is what I've been waiting for! Finally an "affordable" upgrade to my Mavic 2 Pro. There was never a situation where i would have needed the zoom, so this is perfect for me.
It really is such a great drone I love it, perfect upgrade for you
dude, you do very convincing sales talk! you make me wanna go out and buy a classic!
Awesome footage from lovely Mallorca and a great review. I think I have to switch from Air2s to Classic...Cheers DrDuu
Thank you more coming too featuring a road trip around Mallorca 😉
Useful review as always.
I have the Mavic 3 Pro, will that get a retrospective give C1 via a software update ? I see that the latest software update also gives Cruise Control and Night mode etc. Any views on the C1 for the M3 Pro ?
I've been flying the Mini 2 and Mini 3 Pro for a couple of years now. I have a flyer ID. This drone looks to be a good additional drone. You imply I can fly it anywhere I can fly my Mini 3 Pro but do I need to have additional certification before I can do that?
What country? Doesn’t take much to register in the USA.
@@ChuckD05 thank you Chuck. UK and already moved on to the Mavic 3 Classic and have my A2 CofC qualification.
Can somebody explain why the price is only 100-200$ less than a regular DJI Mavic 3. Also DJI Mavic 3 is an old drone which is usually on discounts or you can buy used one very cheap...
Where do you find that difference?
@@thomashardy9994 In the stores in Sweden. The regular Mavic 3 costs around 2200 USD and Classic costs 2000 USD. The same difference goes for Fly More combos 2800 USD and 2600 USD. And I saw a few times Mavic 3 Cine almost new for 3000 USD on Marketplace. All this doesn't make sense for me.
Great news!!! 👍🏼
Just can't wait to fly that beast! Hopefully will work with RC Pro soon💪🏼👊🏼
it sure will very soon with a firmware update :-)
New firmware came out today to allow RC Pro to control Mavic 3 C. I downloaded it today.
Brilliant review! look forward to more on this !
More to come!
@@DMProductions bit of a bugger on the 90 minutes, that means you might not be able to fly non-stop without 3 batteries.
How is it while hovering? Is there any heating issues?
I think I'll pass on the mini3pro and get this mavic !
I can confirm new firmware for M3 has added these features
Thx for this video! Cruise control is a great feature!👌🏻
Sure is thank you !
I don't see a link for the Mavic 3 Classic on yout description. You're selling it but don't provide the link to purchase it? 🤔???
I’ve never flown a drone before. Is it a bad idea to get a Mavic 3 classic as a first drone?
is that Honister Pass (Lake District) you were flying the M3 Classic at one point
good spot !
I love your video. Does it still have Geofencing? Thank you.
Good first look Darren. I think I will try to sell my Mavic 2 Pro to get the Mavic 3 Classic.
Would be a great upgrade for you
Hi, I wanted to know if the Mavic 3 / Cine filters can be mounted on the Mavic 3 Classic. I saw you use Freewell filters, I would like to take the PolarPro ND/PL Vivid collection (obviously those without the division between the two cameras).
Unfortunately not very slight difference I had to stick them on for temporary solution
@@DMProductions Thanks! 👍
Just reserved it through your link. Oh… and I’m off to Mallorca when it arrives!
Nice! Watch my next couple of videos will give you some Mallorca inspiration 😉
I cover the sat issue in the video, hyper lapse was working great for me on flickering in the example I showed
@@DMProductions big fan, what about black corners in dng photos?
That C1 label is easily this drone's killer feature, DJI will shift tons of these.
I was so happy when I saw that label
@@DMProductions hopefully UK will use the new C-label rules, but its not guaranteed at this point. 😒
I am super happy still with my Mavic 2 pro!!! However the classic is certainly tempting me right now!!
Very tempting! Thanks for the review -- looking forward to tests, especially obstacle avoidance in challenging environments.
Awesome footage! Indeed no doubting a Mavic 3 when it comes to cinematic quality.
Next video will be nice 😉
Excellent review as always. Awesome drone. However all your trips are giving me some serious post holiday blues!
Wait till the next couple of videos 😉
@@DMProductions I know! I’m kinda dreading it and looking forward to it 🤣. I love Mallorca, it’s my favourite place ever 😊
Hi Darren does the C1 clarification mean you can take it to say Majorca without needing to apply for permission now.
Brilliant video once again as always very well explained
Thanks
Love this drone more my price range , thanks great video 👍😎
It’s such a good drone
Where did you get that Classic filter?
Following
I fly a Mavic 2 and use an iPad mini, the larger screen is helpful due to my older eyes. Is it possible to use IPad Mini with a 3rd party mount with these controllers?
I just did a search about the Classic and you showed up first. I gotta tell you though, until you spoke, you looked like an average guy I'd see in the grocery store here in Alabama. The flannel shirt and the baseball cap are a great disguise. Awesome info on the Classic btw!
😂😂
Thanks for this video! How do you get your thumbnail titles with the background color? Thanks!
Just got this to go with my mini 3 😊
niceeee
D, you mentioned that the Mini 2 RCn1 controller works with the M3. Is that really the case? Occusync 2 vs 3.
Were you able to find ND filters for the Classic? New new camera housing doesn't appear to be compatible with other Mavic 3 filter mounts and I haven't been able to find anything on the market yet.
Some on the dji website, the mavic 3 filters are very slightly bigger than the classic
@@DMProductions Yes, looks like they're not shipping yet-at least in the US.
DM productions, at 5.32 in your video you do this cool rapid zoom out feature - I'd love to know how you did that! Looks fantastic
Hey I did a video recently on this called the pull away drone move
@@DMProductions thankyou so much 👍👍
Great review. Happy to see some key feature put into perspective. Thanks a lot for the good work.
Glad it was helpful!
Having the C1 label is a game changer, decent price too, love it!
Sure is!
Statement from the CAA you can fly the classic in the A1 category until jan 23, after that it’s relegated back to a legacy drone , real shame
I have the Mini 2. The Mavic Classic 3 will be my next drone. Great review! Thanks! 🙏
Great content, thanks! Question: do you know if the cruise control may be coming to the regular Mavic3?
sure its out now with a firmware update
I can confirm the new firmware for m3 added night mode and cruise control! 😃
🔥🔥
Great news. Are they going to put a label on the Original Mavic 3 ?
Great review! Does it do vertical? :D
unfortunately not sorry
feels like it will have good photos cropping i for vertical shots :D
@@domicreator the photos are beautiful tons of details ! So yes
Great video. Does anyone here know why when I hit the record button the Quickshots menu is deactivated and not clickable? Thanks
Question: will this drone function with the Litchi app?
I could not put it off any longer! Bought the CLASSIC last week! Now, if would just stop raining!
Really nice drone ! Did you get a good deal?
@@DMProductions
I think so! Purchased the extended warranty also… Now just waiting to put it through its paces!
Yet another great video from Darren that has made me go out and buy another drone. Take it the tele lens is better zoom?
And did I hear you right it’s A1? So same as my mini 3 that can fly over people? If I heard right that’s awesome!
The mavic 3 has a 28x zoom the classic has no tele lens just 3x digital zoom but if you don’t need that zoom save some money it’s a very good drone ! More to come
Please do a video showing how to put the ND filters on this drone
Amazing video. I want this drone!!!
Thank you more on way
Hyped about a cheaper Mavic 3 version, still costs a lot but worth investing on!
Absolutely
I just ordered one and I’m super excited.
New DJI RC update in today, I have the Mini 3, after I checked settings I have Hyperlapse cruise control now as an option for C2, will this work on the Mini 3?
DM. Production love your vids, watch this and the comparrsion ci with the 3 mini pro! I must ask is some of the footage yours as I have see two clips now in both vids located in the Trough of Bowland UK
Yes it’s a great place
@@DMProductions Well one was on the trough road on your bike, other clip id seen was back road near Nicky Nook. I have the Mini 2, which I have smashed up at least once, #thinking of a Mavic 3 Classic now and doing some follow stuff form motorbiking, go carting and a few other hobbies. Vids have been really nicely done, clear and quite enjoyed them as much as you can enjoy a review anyway!
Mavic 3 CLASSIC comes with ADS B?
Does it have an FPV mode like the Mini3pro has?
Does it need the FCC hack?
Apologies for separate comments; trying to avoid huge multi-issue one.
Current ND Filters using a single piece of glass, with no dividing line will work, correct?
Are mounting locations identical? The camera housing dimensions LOOK identical to the dual camera setup, and you have ND filters mounted here. You tried several?
Probably wouldn't a twin/dual/split ND filter with a bar between the top/bottom sections though! Unless you WANT a shadow blocking the field of view! ↕🎥🔝🎥⬇
I thought the same but no, slightly different but literally mm, so I did use some mavic 3 ones taped on as the mavic 3 classic nd's weren't available at the time
@DM Productions Thank you. This is critical info -some Amazon Sellers will know this, others will not. Hey Darren: Does cruise control allow multiple stick actions, such as descending while flying diagonally backward? I am curious because Mavic 3 hyperlapse for cruise control DOES work like this.
Does this drone shoot in vertical mode like the mini pro 3?
Really nice drone. And as always a great video.
Thank you 😊 it’s a very good drone
