Hi
These 90s era buses truly have a certain charm and character about them that you don't get on the current fleet. It's like they are built with the intention of being faithful workhorses tirelessly bringing ppl from point A to point B efficiently and comfortably. They're not without flaws however. For instance, Scania ΕΛΒΟs were problematic. Leyland Olympian 3 Axles were always leaking badly when there's a heavy downpour. Original SBS 0405s were like saunas on a hot day . But if you're able to put all these little niggles aside, you begin to realise they have bodies that are built to last, engines of unquestionable sturdiness, transmissions that sing out and suspensions that iron out the bumps and dips on the road.

While I was in Hougang Depot SBS Transit I used to drive the Volvo B10M MK2/3/4,B10BLE,O405(IMF temporary transfer),Olympians,Tridents..With Bedok North I drive all the B10Ms,Scania CRB,Dennis Darts and Super Olympians..With SMRT all the O405s,O405Gs,UDs and the Lance..Training got chance to test the CRL & DAF..With Go-Ahead only Citaro & B9TL

Moving forward can be a painful process. I live in Scotland, originally from Holland and in my years growing up I've witnessed some of Britain's best built buses disappear from the streets with deep sadness and as a bus driver of 16 years it hurts even more. Old Volvo, Scania, Leyland, Dennis to name a few all consigned to the history books. It is a pleasure to be a bus enthusiast it really is and China has the best of the best. RIP to the wonderful buses of yesteryear.
Marc Veldman I'm glad this video was able to tug at your heartstrings! However there is something I have to clarify, China doesn't have any of those brands. Most of their buses are their own homegrown brands like Zhongtong or Yutong, and by the way, we in Singapore are hours and hours away from China, and not a part of it in any way. The majority race is chinese though, our ancestors that made the journey from China.
glitchFan2428 Forgive me my geographical knowledge can be a bit off at times. Forgive me for my lack of understanding. I always knew them all as China but I know that Kong Kong is a separate area and a lovely one at that but I'm more into the buses themselves and I don't see any buses any better in the world than in your territory. Die hard Volvo fan and the Super Olympian B10TL is my favourite.
Marc Veldman no worries, ohh Hong Kong has some amazing buses! It's about a three hour flight from Singapore, I make it a point to visit at least once a year.

Gives me good old memories used to like most of the old buses and in the past when I go to yishun I usually take 812 and I like the Hispano habit and the rest

I remember riding so many Hispano Habits when I lived in Yishun. I just recently visited Yishun interchange after the Tower Transit handover, and I was sad to see all the Habits gone.
SAME BRO it was the most common bus I rode but since it disapeared all those green buses doesn't seem to stand against the Hispano Habit

R.I.P those buses who is gone.NOW ITS 2019...
*ONE* of these ones still kinda appear... I ride them sometimes, sometimes I see the double-deckered yellow railing ones with white borders near the number and location.. Bus 45, I ride it to tanah merah mrt but the bus seems really moldy and barely new but it still appeard

The good old days where there was full advertising to make buses look unique and high speed travels with those 90s buses which have a faulty speed limiter.
The old busses are somthinng different they feel better in every way. LTA should have a museum in which every bus that served Singapore is kept , so to show the newer generation our past
That's what happens in most countries, in England where I'm based there's a museum here just for the area that I live, with 85 buses preserved inside.
I think we can all agree that old buses sound wayyyyyy better than new ones

I feel like I'm going to cry for those Legendary buses,The Good old days Which is the early 2000s which is always the best year for these buses wish to go back in time with time machines but now we just have to keep memories,photos and videos and move on to the future with the new buses we see now which will also face the scrap metal in the future time really flies fast😭😭😭!
Really wish Singapore has a big land to preserve these buses with events but unfortunately is not possible due to limited land and we're all scrapped into pieces which they left this world😢

2000-2009 was probably the best and the last good decade for buses in my opinion.
FastCarsNoRules220 well to be fair the new MAN buses aren't too bad :)
I'm not saying the new buses are bad, but the fact that the 2010s saw many scrapings of legendary buses such as Mercedes O405/O405G, Volvo B10Ms, Leyland Olympians, etc.

Mercedes O405G wasn't scrapped at the year of 2010, but if you meant the buses like TIB1074M that was burnt and scrapped or TIB1110S
