callmehoo he doesn’t look like his living a dream job I mean bus driving puts a lot of stress and tbh I think he had to much stress I mean look at him he looks like his in his mid 30s
The Official Come to think of it, there's really no right way to say if someone is living their dream job or not. If he likes it, then he's living the dream. I'm sure most jobs have its ups and downs.
Generally Many Of Our Bus Drivers Are Polite. I Always Say, 'Thank You' To Them When I Alight At Bus Terminus Interchange, This Show To Them Your Appreciation.
Being a bus driver is definitely not easy and hence they deserve more respect and appreciation from the public. It may be a profession that many do not want to join but he knows his passion and works hard for it. Keep it going!
Is very heart warming to see Singaporean younger gen took up this job as his passion. No job is too low to pay them their well deserved respect. Thumb up for this young man. I'm really proud to have see a true blue Singaporean driving a SBS buses.
This is the question I asked myself a while ago, can someone be happy driving a taxi for life? can someone's passion really be driving a cab? Mom would have slapped me in the face (literally) if i told her something like chauffeuring people is my dream etc. I finished a master degree and with an okay job right now but still cannot be as happy as this dude. I think it is a blessing that to be passionate about what you are doing.
About a year ago, I meet this really nice lady that gave me a ride in her didi. She told me that she studied psychology but wasn’t able to find any jobs related to her degree, so she became a cop like her husband, but quit after seeing how corrupt the system is. She then decided to become a cab driver because she needed another source of income and that one seemed simple enough. She said that was her favorite job so far because she enjoyed talking to new people and as a woman, she said it was super safe and she didn’t dealt with harassment from her bosses or coworkers. She also got her cousin to work for the same company, since she has just got out of an abusive relationship and had no means to support herself. Her cousin was as happy as she was and neither of them had any intention of changing jobs for the mean time. So the answer is yes, even the jobs we sometimes don’t bring enough valor to can bring someone happiness and wellbeing.
Benjamin just want you to know how important your job is. Most Singaporean taking public transportation and it's good to see a Singaporean driving us around makes us feel safe and sound. Respect
Reminds me that at 24 (i started working here at 21) i'm possibly one of the youngest full-time singaporean fair price aunties in sg. Haha... people dont understand how much passion and commiment it takes to work in such a physically demanding job. The worst part of all? I love my job but my customers arent always nice. The best part? All my uncle and auntie colleagues that treat me like their own. Haha. Overall, it's been an awesome ride.
Wow! Very impressive young man! He has the dedication and commitment to get the job done right. The world needs more people like Benjamin. The best part of this video was when he said that he wants to pass on his knowledge to the even younger generation.
Kudos to Benjamin Lim! 👍 He certainly takes great pride in his job and that is all that matters! His work attitude, dedication, articulation, interpersonal skills and problem solving ability say it all. Most importantly, he has aspirations and goals and works hard to bring them to fruition. We need more people like him in the work force, one who genuinely sparks the passion of one's profession regardless of its monetary rewards and status and shine like a star.
What a guy. So proud of him’ I want to be a trainer so I can pass on my passion to younger Singaporean’s!’ Yes more Singaporean’s should take up these jobs. We will be less reliant on foreigners
This is in fact the right job for a youngster. The sad thing is when this is taken as unusual. We praise kids getting their degrees, but this guy everyday helping hundreds of kids on their degrees transporting them to college.
This is why you should always hire people who are genuinely passionate about the job. If they're passionate they're going to work hard and go the extra mile to do it well. Whereas if you if hire just some random guy they'll just clock in, do the bare minimum then leave.
I salute you. You, and many others like you, make Singapore great. You display dedication, commitment, and passion for your work. You are an unsung hero of Singapore.
I have so much respect for bus drivers. Thank you for taking us to where we need to be safely on a daily basis, I often like to sit near the driver so I can watch them drive and maneuver narrow roads, their driving skills are really top notch, being able to control a long vehicle and even double decks!! But honestly, I always wondered what if they needed an urgent trip to the toilet to 💩💩💩. Thank you heros
Wow it's one of my dream too when i was a kid, before my family try airplane in the past we always use bus when i go tou my grandparents house, because i live in Indonesia and it is archipelago country, it takes us 2 day and cross island, I'm from lombok and then go to bali and the go to Java island, it's very fun ride a bus because you can always see the scenery of every island, and that's make me want to become bus driver so I can see it everytime I go to work, but now i work in DJP or engslis DGT it's a taxation division in my country, but it was fun to have a dream even if you cannot reach it hahaha
At the end of the day it isnt about how much you can study or how much you earn. It's about how happy you are. This man is happy achieving his dreams and driving buses How many can really say they have achieve their dreams. Start pursuing and hearing the voice in YOUR heart to pursue what YOU want. Not what your parents or society wants for you!
On the note of "dont make us invisible", I have recently started to consciously greet the bus driver when I board the bus and also tried to get their attention by giving them a nod + wave before I alight. The latter was harder. Not only was it a little awkward at first, I wasnt sure if it would work in Singapore cos nobody does that (and do the bus driver even look at us?) But a friend who returned from abroad said she continued to do that and the drivers always return an acknowledge - and guess what? I ALWAYS MANAGED TO GET A RESPONSE BACK FROM THE DRIVERS! Now, that's my step of making them visible ❤ try it too! Try it!
Not jumping but personally have been in the service line for 7 years. Now i am still doing it from time to time. Its hard for Singaporeans to be grateful to you. Thats the reality in Singapore. Yet he still could be so excited and cheery. Really not many people can be like that.
My respect to them. True that there are some bad ones, but it's also the same as other professions. I don't think I can be like them. The job responsibility is very high and one needs to have a good temperament to be a bus driver. Hats off to them!
Chasing after your passion is great. Chasing after your passion despite it not being well received by the society, thats my respect you've earned. I too have a passion that may not be something a society defined as success (because it doesnt bring in a huge paycheck) but this really inspired and motivated me. and hes my age OMG just realised
The poor lady with the lost comb. I’m at a loss of words. I don’t think anybody would want to pickup a dropped comb, let alone thinking someone actually lost it and looking for it.
Good job Benjamin. This auntie always looks at the driver, to acknowledge him. Most of them nod in return. A few in bad mood don't even want to look at passengers!
He kinda blends well with the other middle aged bus drivers. I would've guess he is 30 years old if CNA didn't told me he's 23. 😂 (Don't take this seriously)
Good for you if you like to drive the buses you enjoy it. Good thinking young guy like you I know you speak like. Singaporean Bless you all bus driver thank you for sharing.
i think this guy quite zai, can see his passion. hopefully there are systems in place in sbs to groom him towards leadership positions in future, he will have a great experience of what's happening on the ground.
My greetings to all the bus drivers in Singapore! The vast majority of you drive really very well, with very few exceptions. You are polite and give even tiny motorcycles way when they actually have not the right of way. Thank you - your job is not an easy one!
Heres someone who doesnt care about the salary and is very satisfied with his job. Hope one day i can find something that gives me a purpose in life just like this man did.
Wow it's a beautiful thing following your dreams. I have a degree in Mathematics. Became an statistical analyst. I make loads of money BUT I'm fucking depressed and hate my life. I get really jealous when I see happy people. There's a cook at my cafeteria In the office building I work at...she's been working there for 35 yrs. So happy and loves life. I'd be glad even if I become 50% as happy as she is.
My bad time was when My brother lost his wallet which contained his IC, money, and other important belongings. He lost it in the bus in Malaysia, he forgot about his wallet because he was sleeping. He woke up and left the bus without taking his wallet. We still got it back with the help of bus workers.
At least he achieved his dream. I don't even know what is my dream. Mad respect for this guy.
callmehoo he doesn’t look like his living a dream job I mean bus driving puts a lot of stress and tbh I think he had to much stress I mean look at him he looks like his in his mid 30s

Generally Many Of Our Bus Drivers Are Polite. I Always Say, 'Thank You' To Them When I Alight At Bus Terminus Interchange, This Show To Them Your Appreciation.
Mad respect, no dreams are laughable or small if one can fight for it and see happiness in pursuing it.
Well said
Then why would say it is "laughable or small" assuming people are laughing over his job? i didn't even thought about it being funny.
@@empower_english33 is the pay very low?
Yes 👍
Totally agree.
Being a bus driver is definitely not easy and hence they deserve more respect and appreciation from the public. It may be a profession that many do not want to join but he knows his passion and works hard for it. Keep it going!
Desiree Tan I think they also deserve higher pay having such workload on their shoulders.
Semewmaru Micka Whats wrong?
Semewmaru Micka ????? Did someone hurt you when you were small?
Scychotic97 Fuck U
Semewmaru Micka damn, I actually feel sorry for you. 1 like = 1 prayer
Benjamin will surely become a trainer! He works hard and has a passion for buses, he’s definitely going to get his dream job
Is very heart warming to see Singaporean younger gen took up this job as his passion. No job is too low to pay them their well deserved respect. Thumb up for this young man. I'm really proud to have see a true blue Singaporean driving a SBS buses.
Living your dream by doing what you love for a living. Good for you, Benjamin!

Well said CJ Yen. I have an engineering degree but I feel miserable working in an office. At least this gentleman enjoys what he is doing.
When u love ur job u wud be happy if not then it wud be very difficult to enjoy ur job everyday
Join FIRE movement. Once you're Financially independent you can retire early to do the job you love.
You will never be happy in anything if you care what they think bout chu boo

I was 19 when I became a transit driver. Very good profession, I love every day of it.
Good for you

Poor lady lost her COMB.
She went to the Lost & Found to see if they found her comb.
If she is my grandmother, I will blame SBS-Transit.
In Australia we say thank you to the bus driver before we get out from the bus.
ALWAYS THANK THE BUS DRIVER
I love the idea that even for a tiny comb you're committed to find it...God job bro...
