The whole 'spider story' made no sense as soon as we saw that Bruce was looking at a glass door on a balcony. From that moment on, I knew this was just another of Bruce's dial-it-in-and-collect-the-cash type movies, where it seems like he'll star in anything if he gets paid.
Sure wish this movie had subtilties for us deaf folks.
