THANK GOODNESS I FOUND YOU! Same problem, but great solution!! I thought all that work that I put in on my very first build was a complete waste and have to buy another frame. Again, THANK YOU VERY MUCH! You definitely saved my sanity. OOORAH!!! 🙂
Thanks for the video, I bought a Gen 5 slide to run on a P80 and your video answered my question about the G17 locking lug issue. I will probably run it on a PF940C frame with a gap filler and try to use the marksman barrel. Poi changes with different barrel gens..
I saw someone else comment and I will agree with their comment that this works because you’re using an Polymer 80 CL frame (Custom Long Slide). I would imagine if you are trying this with a P80 full-size or compact frame (None CL Frame) you will end up having to remove material in the channel as others have told you. Please do a video on that and let us know. I build as well, but I’m not jacking up frame just to see.......... 😂
CL frames are perfect for G4 G5 slide mod. 940C and V2 not so much. I did the mod couple years ago with the 940C and OEM G19 slide Gen4 . The rail blow apart in the first blm trip. I manage to glue on the two little strips of polymer that I cut out from the frame with some two part epoxy. So far still holding strong, no problems with hot round either. Probably CL where designed with dual compatibility in mind. Thank you.
I shoot way better with a gen 4 recoil spring. I like this review because it showed me why I should use a gen 4 slide. I don't want a weaker frame. Thanks man 👍🏽
The only difference between the gen 4 17 barrel and the newer gen 3 17 barrel is the lug on the gen4 has a wider cut to accept the wider footprint of the newer gen4 guide rods. So since you could run a gen4 barrel in a gen5 slide, you could also run a gen3 barrel in that gen5 slide. I know gen 3 barrels fit in the 4 slides as the dimensions are essentially still the same. I just didnt know about the 3/4s in the gen5 slides, and you answered that question nicely.
You can also run a Gen 5 19 or 45 slide on a polymer 80 26. Without changing anything. They both run the same spring. You just need that spacer thingy to cover the spring.
You’ve done this yourself, this is exactly what I’m facing now . I have. Gen 5 g19 slide and barrel . Would I still need to use a gen 4 barrel as he stated in his video?
Hear me out, the Poly80 PF940sc (G26) with an Gen 5 G19 slide using the gen 4 to gen 4 adapter from Lone Wolf as well as the reducer to accommodate the Gen 3 recoil spring. Thoughts?
I’ve got a Glock 23 Gen 4 complete slide on a Polymer 80 Subcompact frame (For the 27 or 26) and run the Gen 4 guide rod with spring and the only thing I added was the Lone Wolf dust cover adapter to take up and cover the space. Shoots like a champ. Now I use 27, 23 and 22 mags.

I think the guys that commented on removing more of the frame is in reference to a P940V2 and P940C. The P940CL frames were made differently than the standard P80 frames, giving it a complete round inside the slide area after the nose which corresponds to the Gen 4/5 slide nose. The regular P80 full and compact do not have the full round, which means you will need to remove the interior of the slide area - not just the nose. My guess was that they designed it to nudge-nudge-wink-wink to the requests of a Gen 4/5 P80 build which is not viable because of copyrights still in effect (Gen 3's copyrights are expired which is why P80 can do Gen 3s). Also might explain why they discontinued the CL line, if Glock caught wind of how easy it was to 101% the 80% to a Gen 4 model. Helpful video. I have 1 CL and it is in need of a new slide, so I might buy a Gen 4 slide and try your technique. Cheers!
Kevin Jackson Sr. You might need to do specific things for the Gen 5. I do know Tactical Toolbox has a video about how to convert Gen5 to Gen4 (remove ambi) but I’m not sure if trigger requirements are the same or different since the safety plunger is different. Based on his video I believe your frame internals need to be Gen4 which might pose an issue for the trigger housing group (Gen4/5 is larger than Gen3). This needs to be confirmed and reviewed with someone who has all three gens and can confirm. I would say until someone can confirm, plan to build the P80 separately and not use Gen5 parts.
How can I learn how to get everything I need to put all the parts in the frame I really want to figure out how to do a frame and what tools I would need
Thank you for the informative relief and parts selection. Ordering up what I need now. This happy accident was due to deltateamtactical miss shipping me a gen 5 slide with my gen 3 parts kit. It just would never fit to fully to the rear unless I kept sanding the channel more and more and once started you aint going back. The V2 G19 I have won't work.
I thought the same too. I cut the entire rail section off just to see what would happen with the PF45 frame. Never had any problems in the 200 rounds sent downrange. I 3d printed a new rail section (siraya tech blu resin) for the PF45 with a lower rail section.

Looking to make my own polymer80 glock. I have a gen 4 slide and great to know its an easy modification to make the slide fit. Do you run gen 3 lower parts kits on these P80 Frames with the Gen 4 Slide or do you need GEN 4 lower parts kits on these p80's to properly operate on a gen 4 slide?
Just checked the clearances on my pf940c frame with my gen 4 slide. The inside of the frame has too much material for the front tang of the slide to cycle through. Just clearing out the very front like what you did on your 940cl won't work.
Hey Johnathan Brand I have the same question as two others who asked, is it possible to run the ambi gen 5 slide locks with the gen 5 slide gen 3 recoil spring and bushing?
I wanted to run a Gen 4 Glock 20 slide on the PF45 but only my PF940CL has that inner channel rounded inside the front of the frame and I don’t want to weaken it and have the rails break off. So I got an aftermarket Gen 3 slide I’ll run. But I can put a Gen 4/5 slide on my PF940CL frame and never noticed it was already rounded out. So I’ll get a Gen 5 slide for it.
Has anyone figured out a way to get the Gen-5 barrels to work with the frame? Being able to use the new factory marksman barrels is really the main reason why I would want to try this. Otherwise, it's almost better to just mill the Gen-3 slide and leave the frame alone.
So to run a glock 22 gen 4 would you have to still use a bushing along with a gen 3 recoil spring? Stumped on my build taking my time becuse it is a .40caliber.

It most certainly will work. You’ll just need to adapter from Lone Wolf for Gen 4 to Gen 4 to cover up the exposed sling, plus it makes it look better than having a gap there.

how were you able to use the gen 3 springs on the gen 4 or 5 slide???
wITH THA BUSHING THAT HE SAYS KILLER INNNOVATIONS AND ZEV AND A FEW OTHERS MAKE.
So I can buy a p80 frame and use a Glock gen 3 slide and it will slide into place? Perfectly?
Yep it should the gen 4s and 5s have a bigger nose of the gun that’s why u have to trim some out
Will a Glock 31 gen 4 work on my polymer 80
Just bought a PF940sc for a G26. Wonder if I can adapt a new Gen4 26 slide onto it?
It most certainly will work. You’ll just need to adapter from Lone Wolf for Gen 4 to Gen 4 to cover up the exposed sling, plus it makes it look better than having a gap there.
Nice video, very informative.I’m just sick and tired of RMR
Hey Brother thanks for the video helps out alot, a couple questions I purchased a Statement Defense Overbite Glock Slide w/Trijicon RMR Optic Cut Glock 17 Gen 4, are there any more mods needed to be done besides the removal of the extra material in the front you showed i.e. to the Lower parts that you assembly to the rest of the frame if not which lower parts kit are you running rails etc.and what trigger system are you using with the polymer 80 lower gen 3 with your gen 4 slide? Second question do you have any experience with modifying the 80% arms GST-9:MOD1, Pistol Frame to accept the Glock 17 Gen 4 slide to fit on that GST-9 frame? I know under their disclaimer it says does not accept Glock 17 slides. Thank you. Sam
Thank I’m going to get a gen 4 slide now for my p80 17
So with the gen5 slide what gen internals do you use like trigger housing gen5?
All the lower internals are Gen 3. Gen 5 slide. Abs Gen 3/4 barrel
My home team is the Mountaineers and I like P80 /G19 so had me from the start👍
Would this work for a completed PFC9 lower?
I ask because I already have a gen4 g19 slide with the optic cut, and like the look of the pfc9 lower
Did you ever get an answer or figure it out? I have a gen 4 slide and a p80 lower I'm putting together.
@@djrathbone788 I never found my answer and moved onto different projects. Good luck.
Does this work on the gen4 g21???
Your the man bro! Subbed!
where can i get a p80 frame i havea g22 gen 3
Can you put a Gen 5 19 slide on the Pf940c?
I have, yes. Gen 4 barrel. Gen 5 slide. Gen 3 lower parts.
Do you see any issues running the G17Gen 4 frame with the same set/up, i think the dremel may not be necessary, thanks, Great Video!!!!
I don’t see there being any issue if you’re talking about the Glock OEM frame.
What comp is that?
What trigger components are you running on it?
Thanks
Very cool new to ur channel bud. I got a question I'm getting a budget polymer 80 glock 9mm choice but.....what do i get parts wise
Really good Zacapa 23 rum back there
I'm a bit confused does this work on the PF940v2 or is it a different frame?
How to gen5 slide a p80 exactly??
Have you done a gen 4 34 slide on a 940v2?
This was fantastic.
Are you running a gen 5 trigger as well?
