  • Hello everyone,
Today we bring you another awesome Porsche interview, yes, we love Porsches around here! What is there not to love, especially TURBOS! Raff brought out his 997 and it was a very enjoyable story on how he came to own the car. I am glad he has continued to pursue his dream of owning cool cars and inspiring others in the process. I hope you all enjoy this awesome build and story. Thank you for the time Raff and thank you to everyone who tunes in. #automotiveanatomy

Facts! It's 80% Honda/Acura. Don't get me wrong I love a good Honda build, but yea different cars are the spice of life lol

Couple of mistakes and pointers. First its 3.6 not 3.8 unless you bored it out. Second it's the coolant pipes (not oil but coolant) that WILL EVENTAULLY fail. Doesn't matter if you track it. Keep it long enough and enough heat cycles will undue the cheap epoxy Porsche used. They've upgraded the epoxy if you fix it at the dealer or you pin it with specific coolant pipes that some modding companies sell. Also, keep it long enough and eventually you will have the cam sleeve slip and not allow oil to pass through properly and that will be a minimum $5000 repair for just one side of the engine. It's a great car to be sure but it does have some known issues.

Just a little FYI and a piece of advice. Pin and weld the coolant lines as soon as possible. I was driving a gentle cruise one day and the coolant lines decided to come loose leaking coolant on the highway causing me to emergency stop and tow it to my Porsche mechanic. I drive a 2008 gt silver 997.1 turbo cab tiptronic with a Giac bench tune. My car currently has 45k on the odometer. The lines are guaranteed to come apart due to age and Porsche using glue to hold them. Safe driving. Your car looks amazing.

I had a 996 turbo stick & now a 997.1 turbo with Tiptronic which I absolutely love. Not only is the 911 Turbo one of the best sport cars ever made the 997 turbo is the best ever imo. And yes the DSC controller is awesome a must do & I have the save Depo rear LEDs. Put some aluminum pedals on it? And btw the guy who bought my 996 turbo pushed it to like 900hp & sold it earlier this year with 100K miles & never had the dreaded coolant issue or spun cam. Congrats & Nice video. Check my video. Cheers
