  • Did you know pesticides are not actually effective against mosquitoes? So, if we can't use chemicals, how can we work with nature to disrupt a mosquito's life cycle? Trudy Rilling-Collins has spent years dedicated to the fight against mosquitoes, successfully replacing chemical pesticides with environmentally responsible solutions. Trudy shares shares her knowledge and simple solutions that can be applied to eradicate mosquitoes wherever you live. Trudy Rilling-Collins, better known as “The Mosquito Lady”, is the founder of a global consulting company dedicated to replacing chemical pesticides with environmentally responsible solutions. Rilling-Collins studied biological insect-control at U.C. Berkeley and researched mosquitoes before becoming a high school science teacher and County Science Specialist. While living in the Maldives, where toxic fumigation chemicals are sprayed across the island three times a day, she founded “Mosquito Lady Solutions” as an environmentally conscious alternative to common pesticides. Rilling-Collins’ passion for science and the environment continues to shape her career path.

So... The question still there... How?

Mónica G. Carbonell She said that you stop them by eliminating standing water... also right after she says the point of the talk is to illustrate that pesticides don't work against masquitos and to find a chemical solution would do more harm than good so alternatives are a must.

Bravo, Trudy! Your work is vitally important. It seems to me it requires education and and a long-overdue paradigm shift away from relying on the chemical industry, which is poisoning everything, and as you so clearly demonstrated doesn’t work anyway. Thank you for tackling this massive problem. The approach is to take the time and effort to scout out and perceive one’s immediate environment to find the breeding sources, to be aware of the macro world outside of the immediate busyness of life, and to create and sustain teams to maintain the hunting and eradication of the breeding sites. Plenty of job creation opportunities here for mosquito larvae hunters. Thank you for your work!

At last a sensible logical and environmentally sound approach to mosquito control and elimination..... Well done Trudy! Amazingly simple and hugely cost effective... education and support.... to direct us away from toxic pesticides and tackle the source of the breeding grounds... Brilliant!Every single one of us can apply this knowledge around our homes and gardens. Thank you Trudy ... the Mosquito Lady !

Wow--- Bravo Trudy for stepping up to tackle this! You've delivered content and message on point. It's great that someone is willing to take the common sense approach instead of continuing on the same ol same ol path that has proven to be ineffective. Please continue your ground breaking work in this field....the world needs more people willing to take on established "solutions", when they don't work. Thanks again and best luck going forward with this amazing project. Roger Guggenheimer

MISLEADING! She never says "HOW to biologically control mosquitoes." Great, find stagnant water. NOW WHAT?
