Hurricane Insurance for Hawaii Condos

Have you heard recently that the soaring hurricane insurance rates have left hundreds of condos in Hawaii under-insured? Hurricane premiums are so high that approximately 390 buildings renewed their policy with less than 100% replacement coverage. This makes it difficult for insurance agents to issue condo insurance policies for homeowners and lenders to offer mortgages or financing. Without the ability to lend on these properties, sales have slowed down since financing is no longer an option to purchase.
