    Just want to say that i revisited this video because i wanted to duplicate the effects on an HG Reborns Gundam,and it came out GREAT. i went heavier on a rusty wash (i used a gw acrylic brown and alcohol thinner) and I am just so pleased with the results. I've decided that I will apply the same asymmetry pattern I stuck to on every subsequent kit I produce. Thanks again.

    Nice glossy looks! How do you go about making it so glossy. Even after using mig's glossy lacquer it doesn't come close to what you achieved on the armor pieces.

    When you prime any model to paint do you always want to use white? For just standard painting, no effects and the like? As I see most people using white. For instance a green Zaku II? Thanks love your videos!

    I am mainly watching videos in preparation for me trying to do my own work. Thanks for the inspiration! I don't think I have seen anyone mention paint transfer between machines during battle, much like paint between to cars in a accident (color ends up on the other car). Anyone have thoughts on that? Just curious.

    You can also use oil paints and oil paint thinner that doesn't attack plastic. Plus it is cheaper than mig's washes and filter and you have way more variety. !(^o^)!

    Hey Linc, I'm about to put the outer armor on a Zaku an want to add some slight edging to accent the parts but I'm stumped on what colors to use. Most of it is white but some is kind of a tan color. Should I just use a dark grey for both or a lighter color for the tan parts?

    • @PaintonPlasticbyLincolnWright
      @PaintonPlasticbyLincolnWright  5 років тому

      Hey Nick, I'm really bad with text to colour conversions in my brain - are you in our Facebook group yet? I do use bother lighter versions of the base colours but could also use dark grey, rust on so on. So that's a soft "yes" if it helps?

    • @ascensionindustries9631

      @@PaintonPlasticbyLincolnWright Ya it does. I have an aversion to Facebook. But the model in question is on dalong's MG page as Shin Matsuaga's White Wolf Zaku. I threw away my extra spruces so i don't have any test pieces but I did test some paint on the internal parts. I'm terrible with colors so I don't know what will really look best an would rather get the right coloration first rather than trial an error.
      Thank you so much for you input.
      You're the best!

    • @PaintonPlasticbyLincolnWright
      @PaintonPlasticbyLincolnWright  5 років тому

      Yes... Facebook is a trial by fire and I'm very careful and measured with my time there. I do also run a membership site that you can post images to but that also costs munny. Hard choices, Facebook selling our eyeballs useless ads and our information or throwing Linc some bucks. Of course... I'm a fan of the second one and would love to run just that one!

    I would like to kindly ask You whan i should do the mat spray (mr super clear matt spray) ? I`m a little confused - if i am doing what u did on movie - painting with flat brush and spongering i should do this before mat spray or after mat spray??? ... i dont know what is a right order. I think to go by steps: 1. panel line, 2. matt coat, 3. weathering (painting, spongering and make model dirt with wash, oil, etc.) 4. another matt spray layer? Is this right, im beginner..... thx for ur help.
