I swear you're psychic! Everytime I slow down, there's a video to teach and inspire. Thanks, now I'm off to finish painting the RG Sazabi conversion kit I've been procrastinating with.

Haha, maybe we are building and painting at the same pace? All the best with The Sazabi , that is such a nice kit!

I have a Jesta in my backlog and this is great inspiration and informative, thank you Lincoln! When you mentioned the planning phase, I've found that some of my models come out looking better than I expected when I use the "let it flow as you go" method instead of meticulously planning works really well too

There's a guy in a Facebook group for model car builders who said something like "just going where the sprue takes me"

    This kit must be cursed!
This was the kit that I found out top coat does the fogging effect on years ago! I've been needing to repaint it ever since, didn't know it was the humidity until now. I just got an airbrush as an early Christmas present so I'm sure I'll be running back to your vids to figure out why my first 3 or 70 kits look terrible haha

Why is Bandai plastic not compatible with mineral spirts? I've seen many miniatures, especially the plastic polystyrene ones like used in 40k painted with oils exclusively with oderless mineral spirtis, besides there is a primer but that is for the oil to stick and not slide about. Is the plastic different? Granted I've seen enamel thinner eat plastic though. I have some extra spru so I can soak it in gamsol as a test.

Bandai doesn't prepare their plastic to resist solvents, in truth they don't want us to paint their products. It's a cost saving for them.

@Paint on Plastic by Lincoln Wright I just tested some Gundam parts, clear and standard blue parts, that were both in part form and small sub-assemblies in Gamblin Gamsol odorless mineral spirits for 10 hours. They are not cracked, and no joints were weakened. I wrenched on them for a bit, they did not crumble into pieces. They have the same joint stiffness and mobility as the parts unsoaked. It was an easy test to debunk. Where did this claim even come from because I see a couple forum post saying the same thing and a different UA-camr said something similar.
