You always been very informative person, nice job, Here I want to add something maybe no one take attention to it (((SPI receivers DO NOT support D(D250, D500), F(F500, F1000) and Full Res(100Hz Full Res, 333Hz Full Res) Modes (Packet Rates) and thus will not bind or sync with a TX module in any of these modes.))) so when you did above and the reciver not bound you need to change the frame rate from the radio to 500HZ

Drainman it was your video of understanding Channel mapping that finally clicked in my brain and now my Baby Nazgul 73mm is arming and its flying very well. The one thing i noticed it does not have very long range maybe 70' and it drops out of the sky so i increased the power from 25mw to 50mw and hopefully ill get more range. Thank you for the simple videos which helped me a whole lot!!! You are tbe man!!! 😅

I was listening intently and then noticed your background wall. 🤣 I'm like... wait wut! I am waiting on the arrival of my first RPV .
I tried to follow along. I just got the elrs boxer radio. And I am clueless to this stuff. I backed my stuff up. But I don't know where it is in my computer. And I messed my set up up or. Messed it up and never finished.. I don't know what to do. And don't know who to talk to about it. When I press my sys button. I have no tools. The radio now when plugged in... I hit USB. The one page comes up that I'm not supposed to touch. But not the other USB page . I've watched a lot. Tried 3 different videos.. and I messed it all up. And I don't know how it's supposed to be. Should I erase everything.. only thing I know to do.. but I don't know what is supposed to be there from the factory. Hope I'm making since..

Can you flash new ELRS versions to aio flight controllers to keep you transmitter updated to newest firmware?

I’m giving up on getting my whoop in the air. Haven’t flown in over 5 years and I guess it’s gunna stay that way as I am at a loss. Unfortunately I’m going to be sending it back and selling all my gear. I guess flying again will remain a pipe dream.

PLEASE DONT DO THIS IF YOURE A NOOB AT FPV. The video works, only if you know what youre doing. When you do this method you will get that error of “apply custom ports” or whatever when you re open beta flight. What this video fails to mention is, yes although you flashed to 4.4.2 you still need to attach the 4.4.2 DIFF file into the CLI in Betaflight otherwise your whoop will be all screwed up and not bind. The DIFF file basically tells your drone how to act and to be able to be bindable with your ELRS radio. I struggled for weeks trying to figure out what I did wrong from following this video, but it’s missing a whole other half set of instructions for you to do this successfully. Now that I know what I did wrong it’s easy, but if you’re new like I was at the time it’ll be a complete nightmare and you’ll spend 4 hours every night trying to figure out what you did wrong!
i think i saw it on another video (by luck) that you backup your current version, and you can restore that section from the backup
@@Langor yeah I had a group of guys on a discord who know their stuff who had me install the correct DIFF files back into the cli and it worked perfectly for me. But my rant was towards the newbies that have no idea what any of that means, just like me at the time it really sucked lol!

Can i use the easy method to bind more then one to the radio i plan to have 3 or 4 drones just want to be able to grab or or the other and it be good at all times
The only issue I noticed for those new to this, when you do this it somehow screws up the video transmitter section in Betaflight meaning you won’t get camera feed to your goggles, and if you’re new like me, you’ve hit a wall and don’t know what to do next, you’ll ask around and those experienced will say it didn’t happen to them. Or maybe I just had bad luck! But I tried it on 2 drones with this method and both did the same. For those wondering, I did it on the Mobula6 and Meteor75 pro

What if my board has built in elrs reciever but uses crsf?

So I just got a mobula 8 did the back up flashed newest b.f. put tried all 3 methods can’t get it bind I have ran through all the ep1 on kustom 5” worked fine also mobula 8 won’t go into Wi-Fi mode I’ve seen other do the WiFi binding fraise have reflashed radio a few time double checking binding fraise am I missing some thing or got a bunk kwad

Dumb Question.... I only have one quad with ELRS using a Taranis QX7 with module If I set it up The Easy Way and find I want more ELSs receiver's can I rebind the first quad later? Thank you in advance, Ben Herr

Really great stuff man! I got a baby Nazgul a few months back but I broke it and had to get a new board, I chose one with ELRS on board. I could not get the thing to bind no matter what I tried so I decided to start fresh and follow your guides step by step and it works like a charm. Subbed!
Mobula 7 1s with frsky spi.....took 4 days to fet setup and bound properly.(nothing was working) and then it falls out the sky every 20 sec and says rx loss....video is perfect but not rx signal....ordered a zorro and express lrs and hopefully i can get a serial rx to work on it

I am on betaflight "Firmware: 4.3.2 BTFL" . I do not see bind option while navigating to "Receiver" section. Therefore, I tried "bind_rx" on CLI which throws error as "ERROR IN bind_rx: Not Support". Any idea what I might be missing ?

Hey DrainMan... will this work if I have spi elrs RX's with v2.0 on them? A little gun shy as I am unsure about updating my TX module and loosing use of all my quads. Firmware gets me every time lol. I am looking to put a rig together to get friends into fpv.

I was given a RadioMaster TX16S loaded with EDGETX_tx16s 2.8.4 selfbuild 023-05-20 along with an Mobula6 900/915 ( dont know if its 900 or 915 ) Blueframe whoop with a CrazyF4 ELRS V1.0 AIO board loaded with Betaflight 4.4.2 STM32F411 CRAZYBEEF4DX f3f3a3c2.hex... this thing will not play nicely, it wont bind. What FW./SW do I need to use to get this combo to play nice, and who do I DL it from?? Express?, Radiomaster?, EdgeTX?, OpenTX?, Happy Model??? I now understand why this combo was given to me, the previous owner could NOT get it to work either... and BTW Betaflight "sees" the reciever and it moves the model on the screen when moved in real time... any help or direction to a solution would be greatly appreciated... forgot to mention, it also has a Happy Model 900 TX add on pack in back....
If your radio is talking to your drone when connected to betaflight the check the values min and max throttle when you fully deflect throttle stick. If not set right it won't arm? Just a guess.
Oh wait you are talking about binding. 1. Just upgrade or flash radio firmware to latest EdgeTx (may not be essential). 2. Flash the Elrs module (internal or external) to the latest version (elrs v3.xx?). 3. Flash betaflight to drone if SPI as in this video. Note elrs Tx v2.xx firmare will only talk to Rx v2.xx. If your radio elrs module had v2.xx then betaflight v4.3 and above have elrs v3.xx baked in? Maybe that's why it won't work. I am still on elrs v2.xx but will update my gear in a couple of months. Hope I dont fuxup 😂.

Tried the first two methods and they didn't work. The third way is absolutely ridiculous. Looks like I have a $270 paper weight.
Its a bit of a learning curve but stick with it. Will be worth it in the end. There are many points not covered in this video. I suggest looking up Joshua Bardwell's tutorial for things concerning elrs. Or Painless 360 is pretty good too.
@@vuchuong74 Figured out I had to turn down the packet rate. SPI receivers won't bind if the radio is set at packet rate for serial receivers.

Binding FrSky quads to FrSky radios or modules should be very easy. Should not need to mess with firmwares at all.

Sorry to hear that mate. Elrs is very elegant, has very good range and stability for the price, but does require a small learning curve. I am sure there are people near you that may be able to help if you stuck with it.
