The AA mine is literally the best gadget against heli farmers because when they try to swoop over you it hits them and slows them down and you can smaw them while theyre on the ground.

Facts
Judging by the thread, people dont know how to use it. For anyone that says they're bad, you literally wait for the heli to get into range and place it down. There is no lockon period, the thing just fires and the heli cant react. Once you get the mobility hit, its game over unless you're actually piss at aiming or your teammates are lobotomites
Hard disagree, the AA mine is good you just have to place it while the chopper is flying over you. The Decoy is 100% the worst gadget in the game.

Yes, you can spot with both the MAV and the SUAV, but the SUAV has another trick. It has a laser designator that can be used to direct fire from various portable and mounted missile launchers.
Yes. Especially useful for designating targets behind cover, or further than 500 meters. Only if you have a teammate ready with guided munitions though

You need to be really good at it though. That being said, most people are good enough with tanks now that they can easily avoid lasertags by PLM and SOFLAMs, so the SUAV can help with that if your team is struggling with a tank that just doesn't want to die.
While a lot of those gadgets are situational, they're definitely not bad and can be fairly useful.
The LVG is really useful on Metro or Locker where face-checking someone can get you a load of buckshot to the face. Even if it doesn't kill, it flushes out enemies and weakens them for the next push.
The smoke launcher is great as it frees up the grenade slot. In 1 match we've broken through a solid enemy defense on Locker A point because I fired a smoke to obsure sight, and threw a nade near where I knew the enemies were camping (suppressed FLIR Lmg with bipod) to throw them off, opening them up for a breakthrough.
The SUAV is useful for laser targeting helos trying to break line of sight by hiding behind cover. It can help you clear the sky by harassing them constantly, and you get infinite amounts recharging over time.
The claymore is especially useful for chokepoints or ladders.
Lot of times I found snipers using them near ladders in areas like the Firestorm towers, forcing you to either jump from above (which isn't always possible) or engage them head on as a sniper yourself.
AA can be useful to disable helos, opening them up for a direct hit from an rpg, but that doesn't always work
I agree the rest are fairly useless though, or so niche they won't really see any actual use late until you've put several thousand hours into the game
claymore and m320 lvg are pretty useful in metro or locker, u can always get free kill just shot a lvg down to stairs
You can really farm kills with that thing on those maps for sure lol especially if you got smoke to blind them while running into it
The shield is fun and sorta useful in locker. I’ll have it equipped while my buddy has an LMG over my head and it works decently well. It’s sorta like an extra second or 2 for him to mow anyone down in a hallway while I soak up a couple dozen bullets
Oh yeah very useful and fun when you're with teammates. I like drawing the all the enemies' attention to me, freeing up teammates to take em out.
AT mines are really useful in golmud railway, specially inside the dirt holes, it's hard to spot them in those holes

Claymore is great on pearl market when you have the squad upgrade and can deploy 3 of them.
SUAV + Javelin is golden
air mine is good on top of buildings and gives little time to react, after it hits it disables the vehicles making it easy tarket for rpg/smav's

SUAV is useless if nobody on the team operates javelin or spraw. It can be used to roadkill but it you need alot of skill to do so. Ucav is better than suav for taking out enemies, but it is extremely hard to unlock nowadays
Nah. AA mine literally the best secondary, taking the Slam spot in my gadgets depending on the map. Well placed Claymores are A MUST in rush gamemode, especially when ur team disorganized. The gl smoke is kinda situational, but sometimes really useful in rush also, been times that w 3 well placed smokes from that sh the whole team rushed and we won, just like the ballistic shield... Idk if you think those are useless and is only thinking of kills or what, but these saved lotta games for me. Also there's the fun factor from some when you learn how to use em hehe

You forget, the SUAV has a laser designator. It's too fast for ground vehicles, but perfect for tailing choppers. I've helped me team shoot down a fair number of little birds and attack choppers using my SUAV.

Most of these gadgets are useful in Metro and Locker, but on open fields they are effectively useless

Honestly, i kinda have to agree with the mortar after all these years using it. The only mode its useful is in is Rush or Chainlink and those are already rare to find. Its not like in Bf1 where u got 15-20 enemies defending 1 objective. Still fun af tho, love the fact u can actually move away from it and remote control it unlike other bf titles
The underslung bouncy grenade is actually kinda broken on operation metro.

I’d disagree with the SUAV’s placement on the list, it’s a great tool to help remove that annoying heli player, they can’t escape from the tiny plane and can only pop countermeasures, except the SUAV can and will outlast the countermeasures. If your team isn’t braindead, that heli that escapes to the back of the map will eventually get smacked by your teams ground/AA lock-ons due to its ability to designate targets. It’s usefulness lies in its ability to chase that heli nerd for an eternity until it gets killed.

We could say the Ballistic Shield is poorly made, or you know, they learned from CoD's mistake, and made sure it's not just another invincible tool used to troll enemies, the fact that the glass can break in it is its best feature, and I feel that Warzone should at minimum copy that mechanic
The lvg can be used to spam grenades at locker and metro, many people use it for that unfortunately.
Mortar goes hard! Even better in hardcore giving you basically a mimi map
I'm abhorrently late to this but the suav is a much better way of locking onto aircraft than the pld so there's that

AA mine is actually not thaaaaat bad. Its actually kinda hard to flare because the distance it fires is so short. If there is a heli torturing a server it kinda helps to throw down and prevent them from strafing you non stop.
What servers do you play on in Australia that don’t have +180 ping? Also this list reminds of a lot of the low tier gadgets on Martincintopants BF4 tier list
Great list, only one I disagree on is claymore.
I still think claymore is BiS to run in gamemodes like domination and Rush with set objectives where you can predict flow patterns easily. In fact claymore is in my top 10 weapons for total kills with like 800 kills. And I predominantly played domination and Rush when I played. Claymore is easily an A tier gadget. In fact I don't think I've ever ran any other loadouts then airburst and claymore when playing support, because on larger maps like conquest I'm playing engineer or assault. Claymores are for close quarters, and they excel at close quarters

The SUAV is the only thing capable of lock flying thigs under radar; a low fly tactic commonly used by competent pilots to avoid lock ons. Imo, the SUAV is a top tier gadget

M320FB can one hit kill anyone at any range with a direct hit. It’s actually the funniest gadget in the game for memeing. Pesky sniper 250m away taking pot shots at your team? Lob a softball at his head and watch as the hang time allows him to consider his mistakes before he gets booped to death and his screen goes white after he dies. You can even get kills if it banks. I’ve gotten a kill before on Flood Zone when I knew someone was around a corner, I banked the flash off the wall to try to stun him, and booped him to death instead. M320FB is comedy gold and S tier for that alone
In my opinion SUAV is a cheap UCAV. Its a tuff one to get the UCAV, and surely UCAV is more fun to use against vehicles, although i've found SUAV fun to, especially ramming enemy team. Once skilled - can be used to ram multiple persons at once or fly away after ramming the 1st enemy. Difficult tho, but so much fun, love it
Fun fact the riot shield can block enemy AA rounds if they are using the lowest mm some will get through and hit you from the glass but you get called a hacker for using it also it can stop a rocket dead on i think its a bug but theres also a bug where it deals 5 damage instead of 50 so eh evens out
I'm surprised the SOFLAM is not on this list. Nort because of its function, but mainly because it's more often than not so easily destroyed and works only over very large distances. I never use it for lasertagging enemies, it's just not worth the hassle. Add to that that its laser is a small sun, gets spotted instantly and is vulnerable to MAVs. The PLD is just the better tool for the job in every way, especially on Rush. And you can use the PLD as a replacement for the range finder as well as to spot targets, both things you can't do with the SOFLAM.
tbh the suav can actually be pretty fucking useful, i managed to keep a viper out of our airspace for a good majority of a rush round just by chasing and scaring it away with a suav, because the suav can match the speed of the heli unlike the mav
Ive surprisingly fucked with a ton of people with the decoy lol, place it in a building near some enemies and watch them search it
The M320 FB can kill other players in one shot if you land a direct hit. So you can use it for trolling purposes.
The M320 LVG is the most cancerous thing to ever exist on operation metro or locker.

Uhh a few things to disagree even though it's been 2 weeks since you uploaded this and long comment here sorry but here me out
The aa mine is one of the more useful gadgets in the game they're really good to bait a heli and also there is a game breaking glitch I found with the mine is that if you use a TV missile while the mine is placed anywhere if you hit a aircraft it will track the aircraft you tried to hit or might of hit with the TV missile so basically you have a portable active radar missile
2. How is the m320 lvg and flashbang useless? While yes I can agree to a certain point that if you use this on bigger maps on conquest there is no reason to use this over the standard m320. However if you use this on metro or locker you'll see why it's mostly banned from most servers. How players use the lvg and fb is that they bank or ricochet the thing without having the need to peek out which for some that is cheesy way to get kills. Not to mention the flashbang instantly kills people if you directly hit them.
Same story with the claymore if you play locker or metro and especially pearl market you'll often die to claymores. People places them indoor in certain spots such as door ways or when you enter staircases. Most of the time you wouldn't even noticed the wires are there especially if you play the night verison of zavod where it's dark you might as well say that the tripwires are invisible
As a suav user I do agree on most takes but besides roadkilling you can also designate targets however I would say it's the worst at that since you have to do strafes to stay marked. They're also a great tool to deal with snipers that camp back of the map.
Honestly I would put the xm25 smoke in the list over the Dart variant. The Dart is very powerful as a back up shotgun. There is no reason to use the smoke variant when you have smoke Grenades that lasts longer and produces more than the m320 and xm25 combined

I’m going to disagree about #8. I use it to kill road kill snipers when they are perched on the roof of the tall building on the Sunken Dragon map
to be fair most grenade launcher are designed in this game to pick corners or get kills enemies who recently did go to cover themselfs
A lot of people don't know that the AA mine won't work unless the aircraft is SPOTTED. In which case it still has a very limited range
It works fine without spotting, you just need to be really close to plane to hit it and it recovers long

Dont know if you're doing some little trolling but the aa mine is top tier for hunting heliwhores. it locks on instantly so pop it down infront of a heli and they'll hardly have time to react. also the claymore is beast especially if you get the perk for 3 claymores. I know I have died by claymores at full health and I get tons of kills with them myself. They're great for tilting your enemies and covering your ass. they resupply fast and are easily deployed so you have no excuse to not put 3 of them down all the time for easy cheap kills.
Even though some of theese gadgets are pretty useless its still great to have them in the game as niche options !
Thats why BF4 is a superior sandbox experience!

Very bad list tbh. The AA mine is braindead broken OP vs Scout Heli and Transport heli, ofc not as useful against jets or AH, but thats because they fly higher if the Pilots are good. On the other hand tranny and scout are forced to fly low to get kills and thats when you catch anyone off guard by placing it in front of them, giving them 0 time to react and hitting an easy, unskilled shot, especially since 9 out of 10 times there is no lock on sound since the game barely works properly. The Mines can be used as a better alternative to C4 for kamikaze jeeps or placed inside holes in the ground in maps such as Zavod and go nearly undetected even with thermal. Claymores are clearly good and OP aswell considering you can place like 5 of them and most map locations dont have more than 5 routes. I saw ppl going around with 10k kills dogtags, if they were shit you wouldnt get killed by them every fucking match in locker. Mortar is also OP as fuck and annoying because its used outside of locker with no counter and for spawnkilling. Suav is good for harrassing with Laser locks. Smoke m320 while being pretty much used by nobody, is still useful. Same for lvg. Truly useless gadgets are the flash bang m320, smoke xm25, javelin and stinger. Sraw can laser lock like the Javelin while also being able to be used freely, Javelin makes you a sitting duck for easy AP shots from tanks, Stinger is easily avoidable by any decent pilot and the other 2 are self explained. I can go further but I already wrote too much.
