Only 2 differences between buckshot and flechette that damage output going to buckshot but darts have a faster velocity and they go through enemies

My only problem is hawk 12 not being S tier.
I agree the explosive rounds are a bit cheeky. But there is one instance where i use it. On Hainan Resort when one team camps the roof and the elevators. Spawn as recon, get DBV 12 with frag rounds and place a spawn beacon on the side of the building. Respawn and parachute down with DBV and blast the campers to bits. One of the only ways to truly get rid of the parasites up there.
The beauty of shotguns is no matter which tier they are, they're all basically equal because a shotgun will do shotgun things in shotgun range.
Used to dominate lobbies and anger snipers on Golmad with a UTS using Slugs. So much fun, I love using weird ass loadouts in Battlefield. I got the Harpoon gun in Hardline Gold, that's a couple thousand kills!
Try a saiga with a full choke, Lazer sight and flechette. Even hip firing it makes it a beast. Used to run it all the time and topped the leaderboard every game.

Buckshot is very effective and a very good standard for testing however I'd like to point out the values of other ammo types..... Flechette has higher bullet velocity less damage but less damage drop off it also negates the dreaded defensive perk allowing for longer range kills super useful on the lower damage per shot shot guns. Frag rounds are just poor mans airburst and actually do less damage than slugs have slow bullet velocity good for suppression I guess idk. Then there is slugs my personal favorite basically a sniper round but flies slow and can sometimes miss.
On our RUSH server we have a tradition to use mainly shotguns on Pearl Market. Very good players with their trusty 870s can bring Armagedon upon any foe dumb enough to face them. That said we always destroy hit reg. Mainly on this map so I really believe this is due to abuse of shotguns.
