Absolutely LOVE the QSB-26. It's easily my most used modifier on-location; a tough choice between it and my 36-inch octa...but the 26 usually wins out for portability purposes.
Para snap glow all day baby !! It stores flat and I can't ask for anything better. The second one you showed was actually my first softbox when I started
Just picked up (3) Godox 47" 120cm Octagon Umbrella Softboxes & grids myself to upgrade from my (3) Godox Speedlite Softbox 40*40cm 40x40 kits. Flexibility to go small or large with (2) Godox V1-Ns and a StellaPro S. So now I have Key, Fill, Backdrop, & Hair Lights covered. Strip box with grid if needed. Nothing wrong in my view with having the 40cms for emergencies just sitting in my trunk "just in case". Makes a nice "compact" alternative to my Elinchrom Style 500/500 BX Ri To Go Kit when I don't want to cart around a powerstation for my corded 500BXRi monolights and those "klunky" Portalight softboxes. (Nice thing about the StellaPro S is that the same flash works with both my Elinchrom and Godox flash controllers!) Only thing I'd recommend is that if you're shooting outside, BRING C-STANDS. (Sorry, I know... "The weight".) Sandbags "help", but a good breeze will make your "travel" light stands unstable or even snap with large octoboxes if they catch a gust even if you weighted them down.
Yes I have, but since the MagMod system is primarily for events and I don't do those anymore it's not a system that I utilize often. I also wish the MagBoxes had two layers of diffusion instead of one. Or at least the option to add one inside.
on the SMDV Beauty Dish, do you have to remove the beauty dish piece when closing, storing, traveling ? is it safe to leave on ? what material is the beauty dish plate made of ?
I still have the cheetah 26 qsb. Bought it when it was $99 before inflation made it $149. I have not used it since I started using the smdv and angler flip boxes. They are so much lighter and easier to setup.
Just wondering .... Why does Ashley have a phone in her hand and to her ear when You two are shooting???? Only reason I ask is because the phone is always there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe it is none of My business... I enjoy most of Your videos :) :) :)
She should be focused for sure. I think in that video she was talking to a family member about nothing important so I told her to put it on silent after.😅
SORRY !!!! Here I am being a jerk again,,, BUT I look at where the flash is pointed(in some of the videos)OMG ,, Luckily light tends to have a pretty good amount of spread (without a GRID)...(My Wife acts similarlly, sometimes) :) :) :) I DO LUV Your Videos (It may seem that I do not) You are Very Talented !!!!!!!!!@@fjhphoto
I been following you a long time & im seeing your views drop since you stated doing more talking head vids over your older vids of shooting on location . be great to see some more location shoots . I guess you may be bored with doing that , just a suggestion . I do hope you are doing OK as I know its not easy earning a living & consistently doing UA-cam for many years . as for modifiers Ive just got a new one for my Ulanzi 40w led , its a mini godox mount its 30cm with double diffusion & a grid & looks super cool. Im gonna try it out on my next night street shoot ..
I have more BTS videos planned but the editing part takes up so much time because I want the photos to look a certain way so that causes less of those types of videos. I remember talking to Manny Ortiz about that a while back. The editing taking forever.
a long as you are doing ok , I don't watch many of your vids now as I find them a little boring & I feel looking at your views recently sadly a lot of your subs do also ... sending good vibes & positivity don't be offended by what I say as Im actually trying to help you @@fjhphoto

Very cool - thanks for the recommends!
No problem!
Have you ever used the Magmod products? E.g Magbox or Magmod XL? Any thoughts? Great content brother!

I like the SMDV beauty dish, i may check that out!
Thanks for money worthy tips and hints. Your camera tends to focus on your hands when you are speaking with your hands 😁
Whats the name of the Bowens adapter to the foldable softbox?
Great Video! have you noticed any sag with the 24" Softbox?
Hmm maybe a tiny tiny bit but aside from that not really.

What about the SMDV Flip Speedbox? Thoughts? Have you tried it?
Hi what speedring size is that that works with the foldable softbox?
Will you be at wppi this year?
Yup! Teaching two photo walks.😁
