I so agree. I love reading my Bible in the morning. And I enjoy to exercise and think about my Bible as I do. God is a wonderful way to start the day. Completely removes any worries as I cast all my cares on Jesus. My father, who's 81, does the same thing. He's very fit, incredibly alert (like he's in his twenties) and as calm as calm can be because he knows Jesus.
I do start it still in bed while waking up. I put myself in God's hands and read the daily readings. In prayer I go through my to do list for today and adjust the priorities and then check the weather (for clothing). Then I stand, speak a small morning prayer including some simple movements like opening my arms, kneeling and bowing and only then do I start my bathroom routine.

You are a great soul, my friend. You are so awake. Thank you for bringing all the information you so freely give to the world. Thank you Be blessed dearest one
I love my mornings to myself .. it is such a huge part of my mental health! It’s ME time . I have my French press coffee, tend to my pets, listen to violin while doing yoga. and then crawl back into bed and read while my husband snuggles me until his alarm goes off 🥰
You have bridged the knowing gap ---doing gap brilliantly! Repetition rewires your brain and your body creates a new program, performing as autopilot. Discipline! I myself is a 76 years old senior GP, convinced that simple, smart selfcare is key. I hope young doctors now can learn and manage their own stress and have your tool 3 M in their toolbox. I believe I can live younger longer. When you gave a lecture in Stockholm I was there and bought your first two books. I also gave you a note about redox signaling molecules when you hurried to catch your flight.Thank you for your inspiration, passion and practical approach. Winners never quit ! Love and Blessings from Lajla Olsson, Sweden.
Didn't know about the knowing gap - doing gap. I've always had the challenge of reading& knowing a fair bit about wellness & mental health related but not being disciplined about making it a practical part of my life ! Thanks for this, Lajla
Great advice, yet absolutely doable. Thank you, Doctor Chatterjee! Today is 31st December. I want to put these 3Ms in action from tomorrow to deal with chronic stress…hopefully I succeed🙏🏻😊 Have a great year ahead.
Amazing advice, totally agree you can't be helping others, looking after your children, working, etc, etc, without looking first after yourself, we live in a world where people don't enjoy the journey because they think that they will enjoy it when they get the destination, mindfulness is one of the main keys to enjoy life and be happier.
I used to run 5 min every morning and then increased it by 10 percent every week until I reached 30 min. My migraine headaches significantly reduced during this time in addition to other health benefits. Following this podcast since reading your brilliant book Happy Mind Happy life. Keep up the good work Rangan.
Rangan, you are one of the best out there. In a sea of well-meaning people dispensing heath and wellness advice, you truly stand out for your approach, your levels of genuine empathy, compassion, and clear understanding of people's real lives, their limitations, and helping them move towards the lowest-barrier things they can do, right now, that will actually work. Bravo.
How do you manage to make it sound so simple and light instead of complicated and heavy. Probably because I can really relate to the coffee brewing bit but also the way you bring across your message in a non pushy, give it a try, way. Si I did, this morning and straight away I feel more at ease. I made an affirmation list in my Keep so when I struggle I can read it and say it out loud. Thank you ever so much!!
Dr. Chatterjee, this is EXACTLY what I've started doing in my life again. Already been doing the warm beverage and Journaling for a while, but now am starting to re-incorporate morning movement, which I tend to do in evenings. I also do timed eating. A little too soon to see results, but am expecting the best!👍🏼💕
So great to hear your encouragement to breathe deeply and thoughtfully, do a fun exercise routine, and have some grateful affirmations. I start every day with "I love you, God," reading the Bible and some inspirational books, and prayer for my loved ones and the world. Now I can try to work in some of your effective kitchen exercises in while my green tea is steeping and awaiting cocoa, turmeric and half and half! Thank you for your great suggestions. God bless you.
Wow! I have been struggling for a very long time to find a way of making changes in an effort to improve my stress levels. I know first hand the damaging results of long term mental and physical stress on the body. I have anxiety, CPTSD and stage 4 liver cirrhosis which I feel without any doubt is a direct result of continuous stress. I also have realized the tremendous impact it has on my arthritis, fibromyalgia and general pain throughout my body. I was at the point of accepting there really wasn’t anything I could do to change my situation and felt very disheartened. However, after watching this video, I immediately felt a sense of peace and excitement because I now have a plan of action that I know in my heart is going to help me. I am also very excited to pass this information on to my family members to include both my grown children and my teenage grandchildren as obviously the sooner this becomes a part of your daily routine the more positive the outcome. I cannot say “Thank you” enough for the blessing of sharing this knowledge and I am forever grateful. May you continue to be abundantly blessed 😊❣️🙏🏻
I loved this video! I try to follow a morning routine every work day of movement and mindset and mindfulness 🙏 It absolutely makes a huge difference in my day! I have two kids and one has special needs. My Anthony’s disability affects our sleep almost everyday so my morning routine has been a life saver for me! I’m also a first grade teacher who has 15 students to inspire everyday , so thank you for this video and your amazing 3 m morning routine model! ❤️ It absolutely makes the most amazing difference in your life!
Thank you so much for this talk! A lot of what you said is so true. I make movement/exercise a chore! I like stretching so I am going to try that while my coffee is brewing. Maybe that will help my attitude toward body health. I have been reading with my coffee for over 30 years. If I do social media first I get anxious/ stress. Positive affirmations, daily readers or prayers help my mindset the most. Have a wonderful day, it’s up to you!!! 😊
Definitely if I pick my phone up on a morning and start scrolling, we start comparing ourselves with unreal expectations of others. However I don't do it often because it sets me up for a negative day. You're right no ones going to do it for us 👍
Dr. Chatterjee, this was absolutely incredible! I could almost cry. I needed to hear this. Thank you. I am going to give it a go! You are awesome! Thank you for what you do here on UA-cam for us all❣️ Have a great weekend! 🙏🏻
Excellent video, and I look forward to watching more. I suffer from chronic pain, and I have a rule that when I can't sleep, I hit the exercise bike or do some step aerobics. I particularly clearly like your 3 4, 5 breathing technique. Very calming and helps with my asthma. Thank you!
Recently I was in the hospital and was doing something like the 3M regimen. I recovered and now again the anxiety and worries have taken over my decision-making. Thank you Dr Chatterjee for reminding me what I'm missing. Going to incorporate the 3Ms.
Hey Dr. Chatt. I love ♥️ your broadcasts . I listen often. I love your pool of guest you bring. I really do listen to your podcast. I have been diagnosed with Ataxia Cel. ( lil brain). Thank you for your knowledge @ this video. I do love it. I love the 3, 4, 5, breaths . Thank you 🙏🏾 . ♥️. USA 🇺🇸.
You nailed Dr Rangan Chatterjee, daily routine is very important. I am 59 years old and I have my daily early morning routine and it is very helpful and effective to succeed and to be healthy and happy but I will try your prescribed routine because I find it logical and practical. I am interested to buy your book. Kodus to you!!!
Dear Dr Chattergee, thank you so much for you easy to achieve wisdom and encouragement. I'm still doing a few body weight exercises each time I boil the kettle (at home) I think it was a lockdown tip. Tiny habits done every day do work. Now I need to build on connection and touch. Touch and warmth to me are in my top 5 basic needs and I know my stress levels/anxiety/sense of wellbeing can go down quite dramatically without them. Thank you for all you do, seriously, thank you. Love from North Yorkshire x
Thank you for this fantastic video. I have chosen motivational reading, a movement yoga practice and the affirmation "I am happy, thankful to G-d for everything and I am not angry." I have discovered that I have been angry at my entire family because covid forced me into retirement. So I'm home 24/7 and I am stressed out by all family members' behaviors. Thankyou for making me aware that "me" time is extremely important! I found that the affirmations work best for me to remember to say them a few times throughout the day. By doing this, I still do get angry but I don't stay angry for hours anymore. Now it's only for about 30 seconds. Then I can smile again.
Thank you so much for this beautiful video! If only there were more doctors like you! You are so personable, warm and caring. What practical suggestions you shared! I plan to put the three M’s into practice! Thank you!!!
I am so inspired to start my own 3 M routine and stack it with the positive habits I have established already in my morning! You are such a blessing thank you Dr.!
What an amazing video thank you. I started my 3 M's this morning with some breathing exercises the 3, 4, 5 followed by some sun salutations and finally Louise Hay's Gratitude Prayer. It made such a difference to my day I found time for ME I felt rejuvenated and nourished😊.
Would you consider a new patient. You are so much like my previous doctor, that bedside manner! He has retired and we miss him. He took care of us for about forty years. He seemed so happy with his profession, which in turn made us happy. You were pre-ordained to be a Doctor I believe, just like our Dr Brown! God bless.
Rangan Chatterjee I love your postcards and your books. Thank you for your work. You had a big impact in my life. God bless you for the work that you are doing. I am going to start my morning routine with the 3 M’s. I will let you know how I am getting on.
Thank you so much, Dr Chatterjee! That sharing of your patient doing all 3 Ms within 10 minutes motivated me to do my weightlifting just 5 times after I got up today, when I had thought I was too tired to have a proper weightlifting session. I hadn’t weight-lifted for so long for that reason! Much appreciated from Hong Kong
Great video thank you 🙏🏽 I wake up praise God, have a light breakfast, do a workout, but I’m definitely gonna add the rest of the things you said also.
Thanks so much. Few mention about the falling back. I won’t beat myself up anymore. Few mention the good results of regular meditation too & how this gets lost when you get a bit lazy about it. After a few days of not meditating, I notice my joy & success fall off. Great to have these other options 🙏🏻
Yes! Definitely a great video! I can see you put your heart and soul into it. One slight correction: a 44 year-old woman is not middle aged:-)) Thank you!
I have attempted to meditate many times in my life and prior to this CD the only success I've experienced is with live guided meditation. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxzpa8CIfZcihW4Z0F_ja0QF3W9KIatrsq This is the first CD I've used that cuts through my unmedicated ADHD and enables me to truly relax and experience a quiet and energizing interval. The instructors voice is very soothing and pleasant to listen to. I am easily able to sit successfully through the entire CD, and for quite some time after. I cannot adequately express how tremendously helpful this CD has been on my spiritual journey!! Two thumbs up and 10 stars!
This is so true. I started writting down every might before going to bed. It was not anything fancy or long. Just the things I wanted to accomplish the next day and how I felt that day. All of a sudden I was more motivated, more focus and things we're getting done (that bye itself was awesome cause I hace always struggled with ADD). A couple of weeks ago I had that terrible idea that I did not need that anymore..🙄 The last two weeks I have been feeling completely lost. I Will definitely go back to writting tonight. BTY. It has to be handwriting.
Thank you so much for sharing such a great video with us. I feel inspired to have my own 3 Ms routine and I can already feel it will be life changing for me. I have been looking for a meaningful and sustainable routine to kick start my days and I have finally found it. I have been listening to your videos since last year. Your honesty, depth of knowledge and courage to show vulnerability is commendable. 💚☺ I can't wait to read your book.
I've allready read the book. Congratulations!. As it states at the end, I'm gonna try one of the ten practices for a week, just to start right now. I hghly recommend this book. Even if, like me, you are not an English native. You need, of course, some level of English language, but it is written in a way that it is very easy to read. Greetings from Mallorca!.

Every morning, first thing I do is put on makeup. It's a ritual. Cleaning my face, pretty colors, decided what kind of day it is. After, I make breakfast and brew my own coffee. That's my time. It's not rushed, it is wholly mine. In times of high work or life stress, I'll journal to remind myself that I am in control, my life is mine and I can handle what's coming toward me
Wow! I used to do the same thing! Work out in my kitchen, in my pajamas. Squats, jumping jacks, lunges, and stretching. It totally sets the tone for the day. It gives you great energy! Thank you!
Doc, I feel like it was me you met with. It’s 5:30 am and I’ve not even been to bed yet. My circadian rhythm is so whacked. I’m going to force myself to stay up so that I can get my butt in bed tonight. Number one I’m getting no sleep, so no wonder I can’t function. Then I’m going to give this journaling a swing.
Great work Dr Chatterjee.if only we all had a gp we could go to like you I swear so many of our chronic ills would disappear or lessen to a great extent and our wellbeing as a nation could improve. I know this depends on people taking those first steps and no matter how much you tell people its still up to us but I do believe if you give people the tools and show them the compassion rather than judgement then most people I believe will want to move forward and change their lives
Epicly accessible and practical in a mind boggling stressful life that aggravtes health conditions all wrecking your energy. All good habits have disappeared over last 6 years and im struggling to bring them back. This could e how i do. Thank you

Thank you for bringing all the information you so freely give to the world.
Thank you
Be blessed dearest one
Watching this video is time well spent! It’s really important to know a doctor is living his own advice.
Thank you for wonderful explanation.
You are the best.
What a wonderful doctor. Wish every medical practitioner started thinking about their patients this way
Dr Chatterjee...your passion for helping people is amazing!
I needed this today, perfect, thank you for being a doctor for all people
Thank you, Dr. Chatterjee. I love the simplistic approach of your 3M practice and the incorporation of it into an existing routine!🙌
Many thanks from Canada! You are helping so many people with your kindness and great work. 💞
A video on dealing with indecisiveness please.
It’s my biggest obstacle, I think.
You are so inspiring!! Thank you!
The body is a container of the feelings and emotions! Movement is life!
Thank you. Today I going to get back to reading and praying and starting the day with a healthy meal as well as changing my bed time routine .
Journaling is such a great idea. So simple and so profound.
My morning routine: make bed, journal and cycling or walking. Makes me peaceful and ready for the day.
Best video to wake up to when life has become a tad overwhelming. I am going to give this a go. Thanks for the info.
Thank you.....
Doctor with a growth mindset is a true blessing for the society.....
You're right no ones going to do it for us 👍
So powerful! So inspiring! Thank you ❤️🙏❤️
Dr. Chatterjee, this was absolutely incredible! I could almost cry. I needed to hear this. Thank you. I am going to give it a go! You are awesome! Thank you for what you do here on UA-cam for us all❣️ Have a great weekend! 🙏🏻
Glad you enjoyed the video. Hope you find the tips useful
Dr. Chatterjee- You are amazing. Thank you for your compassion and all the wonderful wisdom you’re sharing. I can’t wait to read your latest book.♥️
Excellent video, and I look forward to watching more.
I suffer from chronic pain, and I have a rule that when I can't sleep, I hit the exercise bike or do some step aerobics.
I particularly clearly like your 3 4, 5 breathing technique. Very calming and helps with my asthma.
Thank you!
wish there was more doctors as true as you✊🏼💚✨
Recently I was in the hospital and was doing something like the 3M regimen.
Just ordered Audible "Happy Mind, Happy Life" for my reading coffee break! Thanks, Dr C.
I am so inspired to start my own 3 M routine and stack it with the positive habits I have established already in my morning! You are such a blessing thank you Dr.!
I do the 4-7-8 before I go to bed. Love it!!
What an amazing video thank you. I started my 3 M's this morning with some breathing exercises the 3, 4, 5 followed by some sun salutations and finally Louise Hay's Gratitude Prayer. It made such a difference to my day I found time for ME I felt rejuvenated and nourished😊.
Amazing ! Thank you for your care and dedication! May there be more light and insight your way ! And more joy and contentment to you !
Great video thank you 🙏🏽
I wake up praise God, have a light breakfast, do a workout, but I’m definitely gonna add the rest of the things you said also.
How old is middle age then
I have attempted to meditate many times in my life and prior to this CD the only success I've experienced is with live guided meditation. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxzpa8CIfZcihW4Z0F_ja0QF3W9KIatrsq This is the first CD I've used that cuts through my unmedicated ADHD and enables me to truly relax and experience a quiet and energizing interval.

I am a morning person, since childhood, thanks for the information...
Thank you for your fabulous podcasts. We all love your health and lifestyle wisdom
What a great doctor :) he is absolutely right about doing something in the morning. It has really changed my life.
What a lovely video. Thank you very much for the 3 Ms. You have motivated me enough to devote at least 15 minutes of my time in the morning
I’m going to give these a try. I will get back to you in a week. Thank you.
Super inspiring talk Dr Rangan! You couldn't have made it any simpler. The routine is most certainly doable. Thanks for this.

Dr Rangan please, please keep giving us advice. I'm stressed out. Love from Cyprus
I am going to change up my routine starting tomorrow. Thank Yu for those 3 things. God bless yu.
Brilliant, thank you. I feel inspired to start now with the breath work. I usually wake up around 5ish and snooze and I feel the stresses build up just as you describe, so I'm eager to put into practice these simple steps.
This video is extremely useful. Thank you Dr. Chattergee. Looking forward to reading your book.
Hi Dr think you're a great human and you're podcast are very genuine. I am hoping to be a better person and its people like you that provide great role models. Stay on the journey people need it.

Good luck and god bless you
LOVE watching your videos ! Thankyou so much 🙏🏻
I like how he said, “I need to meet my patients where they are at.”
Thanks for these life-changing tips!
Every morning, first thing I do is put on makeup. It's a ritual. Cleaning my face, pretty colors, decided what kind of day it is. After, I make breakfast and brew my own coffee. That's my time. It's not rushed, it is wholly mine.
In times of high work or life stress, I'll journal to remind myself that I am in control, my life is mine and I can handle what's coming toward me
I like the idea of keeping it easy. I also love your morning routine- with books at the ready. Thank you
Wow! I used to do the same thing! Work out in my kitchen, in my pajamas. Squats, jumping jacks, lunges, and stretching. It totally sets the tone for the day. It gives you great energy! Thank you!
While listening to what you said, i am already smiling. Thank you ☺️
Doc, I feel like it was me you met with.
I would love for this to be brought into medical education. As a soon to be doctor I’ll be teaching students and patients this framework!
Thank you so much ❤️❤️❤️❤️ much love and appreciation ❤️❤️❤️
This is great! Thank you so much for this life changing video!
I love it this compassionate and wise man.
I wish I had this knowledge years ago , ❤ love your podcasts and interviews , thank you x
Epicly accessible and practical in a mind boggling stressful life that aggravtes health conditions all wrecking your energy. All good habits have disappeared over last 6 years and im struggling to bring them back. This could e how i do. Thank you

U really look so dignified in these selected shirts/clothes so becoming of a young well spoken, well dressed doctor..! 👍💐🙂
Brilliant talk Dr Rangan. Please continue with more talks as they will definitely help a lot of people. I wish there were more doctors like you! So caring. Best wishes from Cyprus.
When I used to get migraines,in my 20, 30s I visited ENT specialist in india...Had to change my diet, and also those negative people and problems I can tackle now..
