Really looking forward to seeing this build progress.
I’ll have more videos very soon. Will be pulling the M51 engine and r380 box once the adapter is ordered and arrives and then test fitting the new engine to figure out mount locations and how to get the oil sump to clear the front axle and diff.

Waiting on the adapter. Worst case scenario I’ll be getting the ferry over to the UK next week to pick it up myself. Either way I’ll have the old engine, gearbox and transfer case out and the conversion started before the end of this month.

I should have the adapter by the end of next week so will be a few new videos up very soon.
Looking forward to updates. I have a P38 with the 4.6 petrol motor in the states and a house in Dingle. Would love to get a P38 there as well one day. Will this be able to pass NCT?
Yes of course. All I’m doing is upgrading the engine and gearbox so no problem passing the nct. Had a 2002 4.6 petrol when I lived in Florida 10yrs ago, loved it.
Hi Tom, how's the swap coming along? Is there a Part 3 coming? Got a P38 here needing gearbox works, considering the engine swap route instead of swapping/fixing my gearbox.
Just waiting on a friend of mine to pop to the UK for me this month to pick up the adapter and then it’s full steam ahead again. Part 3 will be before the end of this month and will be stripping the engine, gearbox and transfer case out of the P38 and then 4 will be a few days later which will be test fitting the new adapter, 6 speed box and engine. Engine itself has had a refresh in the meantime and I’ve replaced the entire suspension front and rear along with every bush and ball joint so have been working on her to get her ready for the increase in power.
Actually what I might do is take a short video of it driving with its current engine and box and put that up first so there’s something to compare the finished product video once the conversion is done in early spring.
