Will be a massive sigh of relief to start the engine but even more so to get to drive it again after it being off the road since last October

Exciting times! how hard was the wiring on a scale of 0 -10 ?

Wiring is not that hard at all, the hardest part is getting things like the turbo and AC compressor to fit without striking the chassis rail. Outside of that I’d say the oil pan cuts and welding was the most time consuming of the lot. Compared to that stuff the wiring is straight forward enough.

orginal intercooler is too small for m57 , in my p38 have 600x300x76

The P38 intercooler is give or take the same size as the one used in the e60 so if that size worked for the e60 there’s no reason as to why it wouldn’t be sufficient for this setup.

@@tompage it's not quite like that - factory intercoolers from old cars like e60 are always too small - measure the temperature in the intake manifold during sports driving - at 1.5 bar it was 80 degrees, with the new intercooler it's maximum 30. The difference in dynamics is very noticeable

I’ll run it with what I have for now, it’s enough to get it started and running anyway and if needs be I’ll upgrade to a larger intercooler, it’s easy to change that out. What intercooler are you running out of interest?

I measured mine and it’s tiny in comparison to yours only 600 x 200 x 40 so I’ll be going with an upgraded intercooler. Thanks for the heads up. The downside is I know have to change all 3 radiator fans. So will probably end up going with one slim line 16” fan on the engine side of the rad.
