- Have you ever wondered about the sensors on your Android smartphone? Well, we have too and thus, in this video, we are talking about the different sensors in a phone and the 5 unique things you can do with Android smartphone sensors.
We are demonstrating this video on a LG Nexus 5X running Android 7.1.1. We tell you about the following sensors: Proximity, Camera, Magnetometer, Gyroscope, Accelerometer, Light, Temperature and Barometer.

The magnetometer is vital to gyroscope functioning properly. It, along with the accelerometer, is used to calculate the fused location of the device. This is why the 3 sensors gyro, accel and magnet are together known as IMUs or Inertia measurement unit.
Tomorrow is my Electronic Sensors exam so I searched related videos of it as part of my preparation and this came up in search results....Really explained well.

I have heard of using facial recognition and voice analysis to detect emotions . It's a work in progress.
You could code this pretty easily right now...there is lots of open source human emotion detectors on GitHub

Light sensor can be used to auto turn on / off torch and can be used a night lamp for dedicated older android phones. Find glowrify app on google play.

My Galaxy S4 has the rare ambient temperature sensor, I never understood why they removed it and why more devices have not added something that costs pennies and adds value, but here's me going and thinking logically again! :O)
