“From rockets to pockets.” It must have been some guy’s happy day coming up with that.
gps work with it as well...
These gyroscope puns are really making my head spin
🤣🤣🤣
no bad😑
Yeah, it really tilted me
what is puns?.
@@lerros8008 that's quite punny of you
Good report, just few notes:
1) Gyroscopes in your phone are not comparable in performance by any mean to that launched to spaces even in early days
2) Wineglass gyroscope is a mechanical gyroscope (IT HAS MOVING PARTS).
3)Wineglass gyroscope is still in research phase. It didn't outperform the optical gyroscope which dominated the aerospace application regime for many decades.
thanks man
Former title: "From warships to the iPhone: Evolution of the gyroscope
"
"rockets to pockets" Brilliant!
You should do same video for all sensors for phones
A lot of background and hard work during Covid shelter in place. Very educational. A must watch for all and especially for lovers of science, which should be all of us. It should encourage students to study science and physics in particular. Great job as always from the best presenter on CNET.
Very well made appreciate it
Really insightful. Loved it.
She says science fiction right as space pops up, based CNET
Very interesting and informative video. Great videos from Lexy as always
Great information. I remember buying a Gyroscope, as a kid, and was intrigued in how it worked. Thank you very much! 🙂
The only thing I knew about gyroscope was that it would help me scope well in pubg and COD and it's great for VR stuffs but never knew its origin!
wow cnet, putting out an informative, concise, entertaining video
Didn't explained what the heck is Gyroscope.
Uh, did you even watch the video?
0:32
@@Novuh1 That part was too quick for me. My bad actually they explained but I was out of focus.. I take back the blame..
An outstanding and incredibly informative video. Thanks.
Fascinating stuff!
Great video! Thanks a lot.
My Absolute Favorite Toy as a child growing up, so very fascinating!
THANK YOU CNET
7:28 is gyro used in Maps Navigation systems on phone too??? or is that just done via accelerometer?
Great video Lexy! Very informative. Never knew the gyroscope had these many applications!! 🙌
Happy to see you included mario, without doubt the best entertaining video game ever. suitable for all. Simply the best.
1:40 seems people are going to be saying that for a long time to come.
Fantastic!
They're good for VR tbh, especially now that we're in lockdown and maybe you'll miss being in a roller coaster, yeah thank you gyroscope for being with us. 😂
Thanks a lot
Lovely video!
Love technology history; love technology 🥰
Perfect information. Best channel I ever watches(really lol)
at 1:15 wheel start rotating in the direction perpendicular to gravity because of precession of gyroscope, gyro axis will move in direction perpendicular to the direction of applied force.
Very cool
Really interesting.
It's amazing that they changed the Title and the thumbnail of the video overnight 😄
Its all based on analytics every big channel does this. If a video isn't hitting view targets they'll change thumbnail and title to draw us in. Its a complicated art to get the combination right
This girl is so good at explaining
My Sony Ericsson W910i had a gyroscope and it came out even before the iPhone 3.... EXPLAIN plz
great video
5:16 what kinda stock footage is this
Yes my fav
That a lot
7:33 didnt know about that feature in insta
7:48 so, that uses the gyro of the phone? i thought that it was within camera itself.
8:03 the future of/with gyros
Hats off to the person who wrote this script
Interior crocodile alligator i drive a battleship movie theater
I wasn't expecting for a CNET video on technology to be inappropriate for kids.
Nice video
Thank you for teaching my 8 y/o what the mile high club is. /s
“The James Webb telescope is going to help us find the first galaxies”... 🤣 maybe James Webb telescope has been delayed before Edwin Hubble was born 😔
Lol
What? It can look into deeper space and can find therefore older galaxies then Hubble.
"... to help us find the first galaxies” ≠ "... help us to be the first to find galaxies"
awww man. great video. only note... the gyroscope has nothing to do with the leveling of your horizon in a photo you've taken.
8:20 She said James Webb to launch 2021 😂🤣😂
6:17 lol
6:58 niiiice, well done nintendo.
Wow
I just wanted to know how gyro works in phone but this video started a history class 🙄
0:21 "but it's not just space and ... " ?? what was said next? the captions dont make any sense
3:38 oh, the captions are correct then. but i still dont get the full story. what does mile high club mean?
I totally agree I have 10plus as well for 1 yr! Everyone knows I have it, i encased whole phone in clear skin and has 1 case on it. Was thinking of upgrading but instead I took off the case and skin and everyones like whoaaa?!, new phone? 😂 I say yep... NOTE 10 PLUS.
Phone gyroscopes are NOT. Phones use "accelerometer". Mechanical gyroscopes wear out and higher error. Military gyroscopes have lasers going in opposite directions rather than a spinning disk (based on doppler effect).
You can fool the phone accelerometers by moving the phone slowly.
Can we have a clean version of this please? My 8 yo wants to watch this but good thing I pre-viewed lol.
15 degree per hour drift
0:30
3:48
?
It always starts with an iPhone 😂😂😂
Just so you know there weren't Autopilot in 1916
ESP or electronic stability control?
Wtf lol
People are too smart, stop being so smart 😂😂😂
So apple made the phone with the first built in gyroscope
But who put the first gyroscope in a watch?
I’m dizzy 🥴
How can a gyroscope have no moving parts? I'm so confused.
Lasers
Yeah its true it was built on phone. but im not agree that iphone was the first..because nokia had it first..
There is enough historical facts but almost no science. I expect more physics by way of explanation
Why can't we just use water?
3 thumbs up! 😃👍👍👍
Iphone is making the gyroscope after that they are second in every thing and highest in price
Gyroscopes showes you the earth is flat.
Love the mile high club @lexy
They aren't hidden we use them all the time. This is why playing games can be informative since Gyroscopes give precise controls (Unless it's a Gyroscope from a cheap phone).
I judt realized, today is September 11th.
Gyroscopes helped the planes "land" on 9/11 too, if u catch my drift
Any pubg players here
Yeah
Pubg made me came here❤🙂😹
Don't buy the 2020 new Moto e no gyroscope 😢
One of the greatest proofs to a flat earth is the gyroscope. If you travel a straight level path as indicated on the gyroscope, you would eventually gain altitude if the earth was a ball. This does not happen. Also the “stunning images of space” are CGI. Cool cartoons!
this clip is-NOT about how micro-gyrscope works [thumbs down]
