I consider the oura scammy too. They gave you one month of subscription before, now they give 6 months. I sincerely believe the one month is exactly because that's the time you can send online bought devices back for a full refund. So you will only realize you have to have an expensive subscription after you can't send it back... And the base price is already super expensive. If they make an android app, they can take on the oura's market for sure.
These don't make sense. A small metal ring on a finger shouldn't be able to accurately determine sleep patterns and heart rate. There's a reason watches make sense because they are on the wrist where your pulse is. If you've been to a doctor they can get pulse rates from your finger but it's usually your index finger with a bulky clasp that goes over your entire finger applying pressure.

I have tried Evie twice. My first ring, the battery died way too quickly. The second one was defective too. It started to separate. Like the edges became rough. I’ve decided to try another smart ring. If that one doesn’t work for me…I’m done.
Same here. I'm always forgetting my Galaxy watch at home because its charger is in a different part of the house from where I leave my keys and wallet because I don't have an outlet near the door. If I put it on in the morning before work and wear it until it dies, it dies before I go to sleep the next night. So I either have to focus on it and when to charge it and when to put it back on or I miss nights of sleep data or big chucks of the day so the data I do get from it is mostly useless. Devices that track health and sleep data really need to have at least 6 days of battery life to have the best chance of logging accurate and helpful data.
@@stevecole90099 I've been considering getting an extension cord just so I can have the charger for my Garmin watch right by the door, because it's so inconvenient to charge it
I literally just use a Fitbit Versa 4, it does steps, sleep, 24/7 heart rate, etc. and I only have to charge it once a week, I feel like no big tech UA-camrs talk about them. They’re cheaper, have better battery life, and do all the basics that you need. And you still get notifications if you want them
Yeah I use a Sense that I got dirt cheap back when it was being replaced by the Sense 2. Paid something like $175 for it, and it does everything I need. Could do a bit better with floor tracking as I'm *pretty sure* I don't go up 30-45 flights of stairs a day like it claims (maybe 10-15 at most), but other than that the sleep tracking is accurate, the smartwatch features are good enough, and the health data is meaningful without being overly complicated.
If you're in or moving to a state (since it's US only at this time, but if they go global, also country) where abortion is illegal or very restricted, please save yourself the trouble and avoid or discontinue using the menstrual tracking functionality of this device, or any other app that does that. It's disgusting that has to be said, but here we are. Be safe.
I purchased a knockoff Fitbit for $25 that I have to charge once a week. Paying more than 10 times that amount for a ring that you have to charge twice as offten seems quite insane to me.
I have always loved how the whoop solves the charging problem. It has a portable wireless charger that attaches to the watch its self. Such a smart way to make sure you never have to take off your watch.
but doesn't this not take care of the problem stated at the beginning of the video? you still have to charge it and remember to put it on. the only difference is this has a case like airpods, which if you forger to charge the case once it dies, you are back to your original problem
USB-C is required by EU law, so it’s just easier to manufacture to fit that. Also, your watch should take a relatively short time to charge. I wear it while sleeping for sleep tracking and charge it during my morning routine
Sarah was a great host for this, as someone who wears rings and can speak to the woman's health portion of the product (even if she didn't care for this implementation at all). She clearly struggled with the negative recommendation at the end and should probably have been even more negative, but she did say she didn't recommend it and stated some good reasons for it.
The first 4 minutes really feels like this is an ad for the ring which might just be because Sarah is not used to presenting especially since the conclusion is to not recommend the product at the end.
My experience has shown that if you want a piece of smart fitness tech and you don't want to spend a lot of money, get a Fitbit. Mine typically lasts 5-6 days on a charge. It's not particularly accurate for things like step counting though. If you want something that's top of the line, and money is no object, get a Garmin watch with the solar charging.
Shout out to the editor throwing some polite shade, writing out what USB stands for. and yes, I am old enough to remember the DB9 DB15, and DB25 ports.
Wait, the app asks you "how you Identify". I'm open on what people want to be, or feel. But on a health based situation like this, shouldn't this be the Biological Gender, due to body differences? I mean if you select, you want to select your cycles, and then pick "Male", isn't that like counterin that question? And your Body-Metabolism is completely different if you are Male/Female. And yes, probably after you went through transistion, whatsoever, then things are bit different, but You are still biologically one of those two options.
Blood Oxygen is just in all of these devices because it is easy too measure. Not because it is usually super relevant. And most metrics are so inaccurate because these rings do only a few checks per day. Some let you set the frequency, but less then 1 per hours is fairly normal for battery life.
That is not when you went to sleep but one of your sleep cycles. So you were in the deep sleep cycle at around 12:08. Of course, does readings are not exact across all devices that measure sleep so it will fine tune based on your use.
love seeing Sarah in videos and love the videos :D would love to see you guys review a garmin watch like the: Garmin epix pro gen 2 Garmin instinct 2 (this one has really good battery life can last forever if you go outside for more than 2 hours a day) Garmin fennix 7pro you guys allways criticise smart watches for only having a day battery life ect and every time i think of the Garmin watch ive got and the amazing battery life you guys may want to cover garmin watches or do something with them
Yeah this rings are not for everyone. The reason is blood flow in fingers and palms' different reaction to different arm positions. Wrist devices are more accurate for health monitoring.
With or without this review, there is no chance I would have ever bought this. I am not a woman and I don't wear rings, and I don't wear "smart" accessories. I watched the whole video and enjoyed it just because of Sarah.
My (Huami) Amazfit GTR-2 has accurate sleep tracking and I need to charge it every 2 weeks, and it's like 4 years old now. And it costs half of an Apple watch, sheeple.
0:07 I charge mine right when I get home from work, because work doesn’t let me access my phone as much as when I’m home. I’m just trading which screen I’m using. By my bedtime, my watch is charged, and I wear it through the night because the vibration on my wrist is so good at waking me up. The Apple Watch 6 that I own today, will last to 8pm each day after wearing it all night. Just take yours off right when you get home.
i bought a Garmin smartwatch because of the battery life problem. i charge it once a month as it lasts 20 Days. when your watch lasts 3 weeks in regular watch mode it really does well.. of course if you turn all the options on it'll last a couple hours but that's because it's got not only GPS but a map, and music, and a million other things you're likely not going to use.
Without trying to defend it too much, but to be fair, activity tracking usually becomes better, the longer you wear the device, as it learns and adapts to your movements. Especially when you adjust manually here and there.

Ok shoutout to the instagram sleuthing and discovering customer service problems! Them turning off comments is super sus and it touches on such a key part of owning a device, feel like all shortcircuit unboxings and main channel reviews should include this where applicable
What about Garmin vivomove series? No need to charge often, elegant and.. okay not really for night probably. Pretty good stuff.
Exactly, I replaced my apple watch with a forerunner 255, and it´s a huge step up
I have tried Evie twice. My first ring, the battery died way too quickly. The second one was defective too. It started to separate. Like the edges became rough. I’ve decided to try another smart ring. If that one doesn’t work for me…I’m done.
Sarah with glasses looks 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
I appreciate LMGs honesty here. While not female, I do like to see LMG professionally recommend their community steer clear of a product. Well done.
“I cannot be asked to charge a device and remember to wear it” lol 😂
@@stevecole90099 I've been considering getting an extension cord just so I can have the charger for my Garmin watch right by the door, because it's so inconvenient to charge it
This. I loved the concept of the vital bracelet but I kept forgetting it at home
I don’t wear the Apple Watch anymore either, stupid charging it all the time. Bleh

3:29 "swimming" with a weak 1m water resistance? I wouldn't even trust it to resist to wash the dishes...
That is very disappointing for a ring.
I have always loved how the whoop solves the charging problem. It has a portable wireless charger that attaches to the watch its self. Such a smart way to make sure you never have to take off your watch.
This was an awesome review! Thank you for the honesty!
but doesn't this not take care of the problem stated at the beginning of the video? you still have to charge it and remember to put it on. the only difference is this has a case like airpods, which if you forger to charge the case once it dies, you are back to your original problem
I was confused by this as well lol
Do not let apps track your cycles.
USB-C is required by EU law, so it’s just easier to manufacture to fit that.
Also, your watch should take a relatively short time to charge. I wear it while sleeping for sleep tracking and charge it during my morning routine
My garmin watch has great tracking and the battery lasts over a week.
Maby Sarah can also try the Galaxy Ring when it comes out?
I wish there would have been a comparison between the Apple Watch as well to see if it would have picked up some things the ring did not.
"made specifically with women's health in mind"
3 minutes later: "you can wear it while washing the dishes" 🤦♂️😆
Garmin watches offer around a week or more of battery life, many style options (including analog hands in some models), and no monthly fees.
Yaaaayyyyyy, sarahs back
The first 4 minutes really feels like this is an ad for the ring which might just be because Sarah is not used to presenting especially since the conclusion is to not recommend the product at the end.
Its short circuit, its a product showcase.
Me using DB9 today 🤡
Can we have more Sarah videos, please? She's so pleasant to listen to.
Given the phrasing used, it would suggest it's more likely to be just used for how the app refers to you, etc, as opposed to the things you mention.
Hormone replacement therapy
Blood Oxygen is just in all of these devices because it is easy too measure. Not because it is usually super relevant. And most metrics are so inaccurate because these rings do only a few checks per day. Some let you set the frequency, but less then 1 per hours is fairly normal for battery life.
We missed you Sarah!
That is not when you went to sleep but one of your sleep cycles. So you were in the deep sleep cycle at around 12:08. Of course, does readings are not exact across all devices that measure sleep so it will fine tune based on your use.
love seeing Sarah in videos and love the videos :D
would love to see you guys review a garmin watch
like the:
Garmin epix pro gen 2
Garmin instinct 2 (this one has really good battery life can last forever if you go outside for more than 2 hours a day)
Garmin fennix 7pro
you guys allways criticise smart watches for only having a day battery life ect and every time i think of the Garmin watch ive got and the amazing battery life
you guys may want to cover garmin watches or do something with them
Yeah this rings are not for everyone. The reason is blood flow in fingers and palms' different reaction to different arm positions. Wrist devices are more accurate for health monitoring.
More Sarah please!
With or without this review, there is no chance I would have ever bought this. I am not a woman and I don't wear rings, and I don't wear "smart" accessories.
I watched the whole video and enjoyed it just because of Sarah.
Sarah! I missed you!
I don’t listen to Billie eilish music but i do love to watch the same Billie Eilish reviewing tech
14:20 The most truthful sentence of the whole video.
I appreciate Sarah's perspective. Good video.
Nice to see Sarah presenting! Great job, she could for sure develop into a great host.
Very diplomatic review, I liked it. I like Sarah's presenting style as well, and the way her energetic personality comes across. Nice work.
My (Huami) Amazfit GTR-2 has accurate sleep tracking and I need to charge it every 2 weeks, and it's like 4 years old now. And it costs half of an Apple watch, sheeple.
Sarah! ❤
How about this: Every time Sarah says but(t), we drink.
*Hiccup*
What did you just call me?
Wht does the oura ring give plus a subscription that an apple watch or garmin doesn’t do for free?
The title is offensive, what about trans and non binary women. Also I'm a lesbian man. So it's really offensive.
i bought a Garmin smartwatch because of the battery life problem. i charge it once a month as it lasts 20 Days. when your watch lasts 3 weeks in regular watch mode it really does well.. of course if you turn all the options on it'll last a couple hours but that's because it's got not only GPS but a map, and music, and a million other things you're likely not going to use.
buy your own corporate surveillance equipment
That's what your phone is for 🤣
@@justinbeamon6624So is the Ring it's a different company selling your data and tracking you so instead of 1 it's 2 🎉
Simple: Just get any other watch that has decent battery life. I have to charge mine once a week for example.
Ring for women's health, asks you how you identify - classic
the left eats itself
Not all those who menstruate are women...
@@United_Kangaroo1992 literally factually incorrect
Without trying to defend it too much, but to be fair, activity tracking usually becomes better, the longer you wear the device, as it learns and adapts to your movements. Especially when you adjust manually here and there.
Life needs a better naming scheme.
I always enjoy the videos with Sarah in them! She is always so lively and cheery!
Need more vids by her
I fear she has too much actual work to do to host that much 😅
@@jonhansson5199 I just like her attitude and straight forward ness. Riley... He seems a little egotistical now... It's harder for me to watch him and James
Since Sarah seems to like the ring form factor, I'd love to see her take on the Ultrahuman Ring
BUYERS BEWARE! The app exists only for iOS and only for US users. Disgusting!
have you watched video?
@@kahtyman7293 It's better to highlight this issue just in case
Sarah is one of my favourite hosts and this topic was awesome!
Are we sure we're pronouncing the brand correctly? Don't need another bitching out from a brand that isn't willing to take the L based on Ee-vee or Aye-vee or Eh-vee
Nice job Sarah. Appreciate your happy attitude and objective review.
does it vibrate?
pause
Why do you buy 269$ ring that does the same thing as 50$ fitness tracker?
Because it's advertised to birthing people.
What a society we live in, an app that allows you to identify as a male, then proceeds to track your menstrual cycle.
Sounds about right😆
You should always remove jewelry when cleaning your hands, or if they get wet. You need to clean underneath them and make sure there is no moisture trapped underneath them.
