Honestly baits your best shout but the jigs do work with the right conditions. I would use anything live like a yakka or cuttlefish if you can get one

Live bait yakka or slimy s or gar and mullet and squid all these live will catvh kingies really well but only live if the diced or dead bait u will be back to chasing illusive fish thier not that illusive I lived in Bondi for 30 years I'm in gong now and it's the same here they won't eat dead baits thier quite smart anyway saw rhe question sorry to but in I find this works well but

@@scottfsh I’ve been failing to catch bait reliably from the harbour, I can get a squid or two but not enough to last. Do I need to be going in the mornings instead of afternoon/evening? Should I try burleying for yakkas?

That's a yellowtail kingfish. They look very similar but are not the same species
