I am 73 years old. I started learning fishing last year and quickly fell in love with this life. I go fishing at least three times a week. Although I catch very few fish, I still insist on learning to fish. I have watched many of your wonderful UA-cam videos, very good! Subscribed to your channel. Thank you for passing on your fishing experience to us. Thanks!
❤
Keep going fishing is so fun ❤🎉

I don't think you come across as awkward, people seem pretty stoked to spot you in the wild!
When I was a kid , we fished the public docks, always something under the boats. Childhood memories. Thank you for making me feel young today.
I’m glad I could give you that experience mate🙌
Anytime I go to my local tackle shop they always ask me questions and their always impressed from how much I know, I then tell them I learnt everything from my favourite fishing UA-camr Josh D
Aw your a legend mate!! 🙌🏼❤️
Love the vids when I wake up in the morning and it says you have posted a new vid I already know it will be a good day
aye thanks bro :)
Same feeling
I am amazed how good your production is (the b-rolls, and the build-up towards the fishing is so good). You totally deserve 1mil+ subscribers man.
Best fishing UA-camr out there. Love watching your videos because you are very relatable for the average person
That’s what I aim for👍🏼🙌🏼
Hey Josh, "Cod" looking thing is was most definitely not a cod. You were very lucky, it was a juvenile stonefish. Just giving you a heads up.
I've been watching your content for a week or so and dude you're incredibly talented, very chill fisherman. You've inspired me to try some soft plastics as Ive seen you land some pretty big dogs. Keep up the good work man
Bay is beautiful. Great vid. Get em next time. Look forward to next trip. Live in Florida. Like vids of other places to fish. Thanks.
Congrats on 7k I have been watching your channel for a while and loved every moment of it. Great video hope to see more soon.
Thanks bro❤️
Hey Josh, another great vid, just my experience with wind knots. Especially with braid, don’t pull more line off the spool, try and seperate the knot by teasing, might take 5 minutes or so with some patience. Even tight knots will come undone, once you have the knot and the loop separated, then pull the line off keeping the loop and the line seperate if that makes sense. I have managed to untangle some really gnarly knots doin* this. Hope this helps, keep up the great work. Cheers
Thanks mate. I’ll be sure to give this a try next time
good video josh always love watching you congrats on 6k yewww
Done ya self a mischief, keep them coming cheers Josh
My #1 inspiration right here, Thank you for the videos you post, they make my day
🙌❤️
Congratulations Josh on your continued growth of subscribers….. like me, I am sure many have been talking up your channel and your professional productions. What a great change up to your fishing this week with fishing around the harbour. Totally enjoyed this one and looking forward to your next. Josh, I believe that little “cod” you caught is what us Victorians call “cobblers” they are in the fortescue family and those spines cause excruciating pain…..and I am speaking from experience.
Saw a guy pull one at mordialloc pier last week. Wasn't watching real close but I think he crushed it as he tossed it between the planking. He was moaning about it eating his bait :\
Mate the video is perfect as usual as a young fisho it’s great to see someone relatable showing the real side to fishing the ups and the downs always makes my week when I get the little notification each week thanks again keep up the good work.
PS congrats on almost 6 k feels like yesterday you were on 3k
(Edit: would be awesome if sometime in the future you could organise a day where you meet up with a heap of fans at a nice fishing spot (a town or two up from you) and just fish with fans for a day)
Thanks eli. Cheers for the kind words and I’ll keep the videos coming the best I can!! And also that sounds like a cool idea fishing with fans. Definitely could be something I do in the future👍🏼
Awesome video as always & that bloody stingray was huge!
Yeah they get massive!!!! In that harbour
Nice video dude! My sticker looks sick on the back of your car, good to see people supporting 🤙🏽
Ngl this is the person who inspired me to get out there and start fishing, thanks so much
❤️🙌
I think the cod was a little red rock cod, pretty common in Sydney.
Good stuff young fella! So many new lures for me to test out, haven't had the boat out in 2 months. Got some little stick minnows that I am keen as to flick under some hulls PS the sound of you pulling your drag its like finger nails on a chalk board to me but I put up with it :)
I feel your pain with those birds nests, keep up the great vids mate!
Loving the videos Josh, keep up the good work mate 👌 🎣
Will do mate glad your enjoying:))
Great video Josh no bad language very encouraging I think that fish you caught was a small gurnard
👍🏼
This channel, in the words of the late, great Darrell Eastlake (RIP), 'is gonna be HUUUGE!'. Such a polished production for such a young man. You produce/edit everything your self? Very likable and easy to listen to. Love the Jewie cap. Keep em' coming.
I’m not just saying this cause I’m a fan but mate you are the most underrated UA-camr out at the moment
Thanks mate😅🤙🏼
Awsome vid again josh loving your vids lately
hahahaha the old wind knot man,
makes me want to give up fishing all up 🤦♂️
another great vid man, keep it up and stay safe brus!
This bloke is the one ive been looking for, ive been searching for a fellow youtube angler with both millerods and infeet 20 ex rods and hes got both watta dream!
Hahah 🤙🏼🤙🏼
@@joshdfishing honest opinion which do you like better for soft plastic the grubfreak or the infeet ex?
Just been watching some older vids and came across the vid that made me love ur channel
Hey mate, the cod you pulled there is a red rock cod, aka scorpion fish. They're commonly referred to as poor mans lobster because of their unreal 'eatability'.
Good stuff.
Just a tip: Take some rings out of that spool, to prevent the windknots, you want your braid to be spooled wider on the top than the bothem of the spool. Especially fishing weightless and topwaters, where there is low tension on the line.
Hey TT what do you mean about taking rings out of the spool? Can you elaborate a little for me please 😋
I like to see younger aussie fishing content creators (18-19), it inspires me to get out there and do what I love to do, I'm 14 and trying to really get into fishing although I've been fishing for about 3 years now I've only recently trying to really get into it and just have fun. Thanks for all you do, keep it up :)
🙌
Great session. Was interesting seeing that technique you use of tapping the base of the rod to get the subtle twitches. Never seen that before.
Best fishing yotuber ever you inspired me to get the Daiwa Revelry 3000 hd and i am really enjoying the reel. Your gonna be the next william powerfish matwe
The fish you wasn't sure about is a kelp fish also known as a rock cod josh great video as always love your content mate
Awesome session mate, that was a nice pinkie as well. Also if it's really humid then I'd be looking at doing top water Bass that night 😎
Yeah wasn’t a bad pinkie for the harbour. And mate I’ve been dyingggg to get out for a bass fish😭
@@joshdfishing mate ya gotta do it! They've been all fired up here lately which has been awesome to see as they usually don't fire until February-March. I can't wait to see how they are fishing then 😎
Keep up the great work mate, loving the content
Awesome vid Joshy. I’m absolutely stoked for you man your absolutely killing it and your growing like crazy. Can not wait to how far you go
Miss you bro😭
That was some wind knot dude 🤣🤣 Great vid as usual, keep em rolling 🤙🤙
Yeah I’m actually not to sure if it was even a wind knot🤔 never seen line come off a spool like that before
Good to see my mans got some new drip lol. Also love the lures on the keys
New drip🤣🤣🤣
Mate. No joke, I’m 37 years old and a UA-cam junkie. Your videos are as engaging as blokes with massive budgets and 20 times the subscribers. You’re on your way to awesome things bud.
One thing, Have you considered starting a patreon? You could end up with a nice little gear budget every month, even if only a tiny percentage of subscribers join.
You could hold votes on gear reviews, challenge suggestions and so on.
Side note, I spent my childhood fishing exactly where you were in this video. Mad nostalgia.
What a big stingray,nice video👍
Mate I got a 115mm double clutch and the colour is lazar red and it’s awesome
Down here in Geelong Victoria those red snapper are called pink snapper. Legal size is 28 and the smaller plastic munching ones we call pinkies. That’s the main catch along with flathead, whiting, trevally and salmon
best young lure fisho out there mate your a gun at it keep up the good content and get the dogs
Yew cheers klay!!
12:40 pretty sure that was a red rockcod (red harry) and they are the absolute beasts of the sea with like a 7 inch fish happily taking on 10 inch jerkbaits
Thanks mate. And are you serious!! 10 inch jerk shad😳 wtf
Staff discount...LOL...Then a few fish...Then the dreaded massive wind knot...a mixed up sort of day...cheers.
Well done Josh great video cheers 🎣🎣🎣🎣
Great video mate, should show us your favourite lures for certain species. Cheers
Hi Josh, great to see you coming up with a plan B seeing that you couldn't slay the bass!
Typical of the rain to blow away once it spotted your new rainjacket!
Nice work on the video mate, like you explaining your kit and lure selection and what species you expected to target.
Your just about to hit 6k subs too......no wonder with such quality video work and fishing champ!
Appreciate you Archie🙌🏼 always look forward to seeing your positive comments :)
Another crackin video mate 👍👍👍👍
Your very mature for your age and a natural u tuber. Your family must be very proud of you, greetings from the UK
How old do you think he is
yeess thanks so much for the new vid!!! keep them coming 🤙🤙👌
Cheers lachy
I love this guy he’s a legend keep it up g ❤️
Thanks bro👌🏼
He is by far my favourite UA-camr
❤
Looks like a red rock cod at 12 minutes. Actually great eating when they are bigger!
Surprised I wasn’t in this vid I fish the harbour all the time and seen those young fellas down there a few times. Only come across your vids recently good to see a local on yt.
Love the vids I going to do some fishing for the next two weeks
I can’t believe this man only has 5.87k subscribers. He deserves much more.
He is on the way up very versatile quickly won't surprise me if he has 8k in 2 weeks
🥺❤️
@@jackschiller8252 appreciate the kind words boys🤙🏼
@@joshdfishing Next video a bass one??
@@jackschiller8252 the weather doesn’t look good for this coming week so Idk. I hope so
Excellent video as always. Keep them coming.
Should try tea bagging with a crankacrab next to the pylons
Cheers
Cheers mate. And Hilton funny you say that about the crab. I actually did fish the crab in this video but got nothing so I just cut it all out😅
This spot seems better than the previous ones.
We are In lockdown and I can’t go fishing and it is cold as heck man and I am just glad to watch one of your videos and I just can’t stop thinking about fishing! Hopefully I will get out soon I miss making my own videos!
You guys are in lockdown😭 I thought they stopped with the lock down stuff
Josh that little brown fish was a bullrout
hi Miss, greetings from Indonesia, the fishing rods are cool there, only fishing the edges of the fishing rods are very cool, in Indonesia the fishing rods you use are very expensive,
Hello my friend, best fhising , I like it, success always for you, I am from Indonesian 🇮🇩🙏
Ayeee love to Indonesia🙌🏼🙌🏼
"Couple of blokes on blokes" 🤣🤣
Amazing mate, I cant get over how precise you are with your casts... maybe a tutorial?
Seconded. Your casting precision is awesome.
@@clintonthorncraft2164 yea agreed
Just watched this man, and since then you’ve gained another 22K subs well done legend! Have a crack for a big flatty or burrill lake bridge (I know they have a new bridge there now, but from the jetty to the side) I caught a 1.4 meter flathead there years ago. Also, try drummer fishing of dolphin point. Love that spot. A lot of bream/whiting/snapper, another spot is the tubes, caught big Jew of that spot.
Enjoy watching your vids Josh , keep up the great work 👍
Thanks mate I’ll keep em coming
I love watching this guy
Good catch that second fish, it was a rock cod.
amazing video, ill be very scared casting into the spots you casted into today cause dont wanna snag
Hi josh fish that you thought was a cod and it is from the cod family it is called a red rock cod or poor man’s lobster but I call them a red rocky
Thanks for the help mate🙌
if u want more skippy/trevally use 3-15g micro jigs theyre unstoppable
Hey josh huge fan, u every thought of going camping on a river for a few days and go fresh water fishing and catch fish such as Murray cod yellow belly carp and red fin?
Thanks mate. Yeah I’ll definitely do that kind of fishing one day👍🏼 for sure
Well Done Josh. Keep up the great content
love your videos keep up the great work
Very natural Josh great video it's good to see everything go right and wrong. Keep it up and in years to come you'll be like Al Mgarth. What harbour was you at.
Hey mate I was just wondering how old you were since you were driving
Bro Ive been waiting for this video nice intro Josh I just got home from a bit of fishing myself and saw a notification saying you posted a new vid and straight away I got siked to watch this
You love to see it🙌🏼 thanks matey.
How was your fish? Any luck
@@joshdfishing caught a 50cm flatty and a 35cm brimbo
It didn't even rain in this video...
it was pissing down!!!! you need some glasses ;)
@@joshdfishing 😂 😂
These videos are awesome keep it up👌🏿
Great video josh do you think we could see some more top water whiting fishing on the flats
Yes mate for sure!! I’ll make a couple more videos then I’ll make another topwater whiting. I like to mix things up so the fishing I’m doing doesn’t get to repetitive
Fair enough can’t wait for the next one 👍
Hey mate if there are fishermen like my self u I always recommend ur Chanel u are just so friendly and nice btw if ur gonna get anything else I recommend saving for a Kayak they are amazing for fishing off
Cracking vid mate
What knot do you use to tie your leader to braid
nice video mate, would love to see you chuck around a heavier setup and target a kingy or tuna in the future
I’ve recently been chucking lures around off the rocks for salmon and kings. It’s been pretty slow going. Couple salmon here and there. But the warm water really hasn’t started hitting down here yet. Still pretty slow. Been trying to make a vid off the rocks but little to no fish
Amazing work keep going
Hey that cod looking thing is called a Australian rock cod
Mate your already almost 6000 so good job
its crazy how fast the channel is growing
I know
Hey josh! Great video as always - keep it up 🤙 just thought I would let u know that that weird cod looking thing is actually a scorpion fish 🐟
Thanks mate. And i don’t know what to believe. Some are saying cod, some say scorpion fish, some are calling it other names lmao
@@joshdfishing all good josh keep it up - I’m fairly sure they are a scorpion fish - I catch them all the time in theses harbours up north if u just look up scorpion fish Aus they should come up. And they are not poisonous/venomous (just thought I’d let u know) - they do hurt though
Keep it up bro! Love the content and would def like to see how the bass are out there! Cheers from California!
From cali yewww!
Wasn't the clearest shots but pretty sure that's a fortes fortescue an not a cod but could be wrong. Tight lines
Another good video josh 🤟🏿🤟🏿🤟🏿

Maybe take a unhook mat or something so you won’t damage the fish while unhooking it or filming. While one the stones or harbour, any hard surface. Keep up the good work from The Netherlands🐟🐠
rock cod caught a couple those beach fishing
Heheeeey! You are so cool, thx for the usefulllll time! Keep on!
