@@FearlessDIY what grit sand e do you recommend on each of the steps ? Thank you ..an with the stone coat...the second coat ..you say to apply light ? Not heavy !
Thanks Emily for this video! I am redoing my laminate kitchen countertops in the same natural white color. I think that this is really a great product 👍. I am nearly done - just finished putting on the 1st clear coat (step 3). What a huge improvement in the appearance of my kitchen!! I am going to apply three clear coats (instead of just 2) after waiting 4 hours between each coat for drying time. ** Thank you for that suggestion! **
Looks great but I have a couple questions and you may have already answered them. Which color did you use and how is it holding up? Thanks for the inspiration!
Hi Jennifer! I used the natural white color on this camper and it’s holding up wonderfully! This camper doesn’t get year round use though so it’s not a fair comparison. On the kitchen I used it on, I touched up an area at the front of the sink where people rub when they stand there and that’s it so far!
Hi Susan, I use the bright white in all the kitchens I’ve ever done. It’s available for purchase online or I believe some Home Depot’s or Lowe’s might carry it as well! amzn.to/3BVgL5t
Trust the process I haven’t used that color personally but I have seen several countertops redone online and the oyster color looks absolutely beautiful!
@@FearlessDIY I ended up using Stone Coat Countertops. I added crushed mica from a mine in Germany. The epoxy countertops are time consuming but doing veining with a heat gun was fun. I created cells in the veining with rubbing alcohol. They turned out beautiful. I got a lot of compliments when I sold my home and saved tons of money!
resourcefulgirl that is wonderful! I have no artistic ability when it comes to that kind of thing. I needed something that I couldn’t mess up. I’m so glad you tried something new and it worked out fabulously!
cassiopée You’re right! It does look bumpy but it feels completely smooth after you’ve sanded it. It’s the only thing I don’t love about this product, but it gives you a brand new look until you are able to replace it with the material you really want. :-)
Beware using a random orbit sander on this surface! I used the same ROS I use for woodworking, both with 80 grit and 120 grit sanding pads, and both times severely damaged my countertop, so that it had to be repaired. The stone surface is not all that hard! I used a sanding block (piece of wood to wrap my sandpaper around) and was done sanding in 15 minutes!
Jim Thornhill I’m so sorry that happened to you! This is the fifth kitchen I’ve used this process on and I’ve never had any issues with the random orbit sander damaging the countertop, but thanks for your input.
We are going to use this product on our kitchen next month
I love it, Paul!! Used it several times!

It is my pleasure John! I love this product too! It’s fairly easy and just makes such a transformation!
Good job. Very helpful video. You covered everything but kept it nice and tight time wise. Thank you.
Linda Jones thank you! I hope you have success with this product as well!
That turned out really nice!
Yvonne G thank you so much!

What grit sandpaper do you use ? Is it the same for both steps ? Or different grit each time ? Thank you great video
Use 80 grit for the top and 120 for the corners
What color did you use?
Hi, I used the natural white color!
If you mess up the spray. Should you let it dry and sand back down?
Yep! I have definitely had some areas that I put it on too heavy so it dropped a little. So just let dry, sand down and respray!
Nice! If you smooth it out, the less likely it will chip if something is accidentally dropped on it!
What color is this counter?
Thanks

Thanks for the tips! Is the color natural white?
resourcefulgirl yep! It is natural white! I’ve used that color so many times, but I just love the light countertop look!
@@FearlessDIY I was thinking about using Oyster. What are your thoughts on that?

@@FearlessDIY Their mica series looks glossy and smooth but is just 1 solid colour. Guess you can't have it both ways :p
cassiopée For sure!
