People being fed to the statue of liberty really gives it's quote a whole new meaning: "Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me"
It’s never been literal it’s always been “give us the people you throw away so we can exploit and capitalize them” feeding people to the statue is a great representation for that. They only see people as blood, a resource for their own use.
I'm gonna die laughing if alternate Washington got flash frozen and transported through time because a 'cherry tree' he tried to cut down was actually a weird transdimensional portal tree
Even so, he's probably human. Bcuz if he were reptoid, you'd see his nostrils a lot better! Plus, he would never engage his audience in comments, either...
minor note with the Maize Movie Maker episode: the fact that the first at-home computer says "Ahoy-hoy!" on its screen implies that, unlike our own reality in which people decided to say "Hello" when answering the phone, Mr. Bell got his wish in that people instead say "Ahoy"
That could imply Thomas Edison didn’t exist, because Thomas Edison suggested that the word “hello” should become the universal greeting instead of Graham Bells “ahoy”, and someone else invented the light bulb.

I HATED the freedom valor story. the eyes, the fact that the father most likely had to watch his daughter become murdered due to the fact that they're still alive and it used his eyes specifically, its just genuinely terrifying to me.
Your dad. Oh my goodness. What a sweet and supportive dad. Very cool way to integrate him. I want to buy that wallet just bc of how how supportive he is of you. His nodding and yes while you gave your info. Such a good soul.
The most farfetched part of that tree story is that she had 10 friends willing to form a human ladder. I can’t even get one friend to help me move a couch.
Also the fact that one kid was able to hold 9 other kids up, that's gotta be alot of pressure on the spine. Either these kids are light as a feather or the kid at the bottom is as strong as an ox
The ship that got stuck in the Suez Canal was actually called the Ever Given in real life too, it's just that the company that operated the ship is called Evergreen Marine and everyone seeing the company name on the ship mistook it for the ship's name.
43:12 I would just like to point out here that, the daughter (Nina) of the sculptor is weirdly alive in a grotesque animated statue, cut and placed "inside", comprised of multiple beings like a chimera, by her father. Is that...is that... a Fullmetal Alchemist reference?
I find most of monument mythos more fascinating than scary, but the freedom statue and floating heads genuinely terrify me. I have to leave my house and walk to the fridge in my garage to get drinks late at night, and I’ve walked out there at like 3 AM dreading a huge head peering in at me when I’m in there.
whenever i find out about scary creatures, my first thought is "would throwing hands at this bitch work" it almost never does and im afraid, this is the one scenario im happy i can feel safe in
It's amazing they nailed this kind of scare for the Freedom that it uses the fear of power that shows on something that can rip you apart, kind of like how insects feel when they see huge animals.

This man is the king of "Sorry, babe, a UA-camr just posted a 4 hour long video on a weird thing I've never heard of before, so I'll be busy at home for awhile" content.
One of my favorite little details in monument mythos that I find hilarious is that Walt Disney is a famous Doctor in the Deanverse. There is even a hospital named after him mentioned in the Deandisaster episode.
it's probably been mentioned somewhere but the Lincoln Memorial looks directly at the Washington Monument. So the Lincoln Looker could be placed there to observe the special tree.

You describing how you felt when you discovered who the 20th absentee was - was the same feeling I had when you suggest that the Everett in wonderland was the grown up version of baby Everett who had been trapped in wonderland since Virginia fell down the monument and lost the baby. 😮
i know this video is over a year old at this point, but dear god. having somebody have their own DAD do their sponsor segment and genuinely enjoy the product is incredibly convincing even though im not in the market for a new wallet myself. thank you very much, Mr. Wendigoon's dad
I just imagine like the most cinematic, epic shot of this ancient eldritch creature slowly waking up from it's trillion years slumber, displacing millions of tons of water, carrying a freighter on it's back without even trying, an awe of life, a living creature so incredibly massive that we are simply ants to it. It slowly walks and walks, through all weather, through any obstacle, almost giving the sense that this creature was far beyond us in every perspective, feeling that we can't stop it even if we had to. It walks through the desert, shocking anyone who sees it, even from a far distance away. It never tires, never rests, never even stopped. And it fucking trips on a banana peel or somethin'.
The most unrealistic thing about The Monument Mythos is the government apologising to someone after making a mistake. As I'm writing this edit it's only been 4 months since I posted the original comment and wow, do some people not know what a joke is. If you didn't think it was funny then fine, dislike the comment and get on with your (hopefully good) day; I don't see why you gotta start attacking people. Also, I'm not even from America so this joke holds absolutely no piece of my actual opinion of "the government".
I think it's very funny that the names of the people who founded Maize are Rob Careers and Rob Watroba cause it's a not-so-subtle nod to Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak founding Apple
When Wendigoon laughs I feel like he's practicing being human. He doesn't sleep, he doesn't eat, he just practices laughing more naturally in front of the mirror, doing impressions of you.
In our timeline the ship was actually named "Evergiven" too. "Evergreen" is a company, that owns it (they name all their ships "ever-something"). But I see how you can get confused since there are a huge letters saying "evergreen" on its side.
A passing thought about something you mentioned on the timeline: You said that Maize was founded by two Rob's, both with different last names. Considering Maize has some very specific connections to everything that is going on, I wonder if somehow two versions of the same Rob ended up in the same timeline, and their entire reason for founding Maize was to either merge the timelines together, or "fix" the issues caused by the trees, and all of the underground tunnels and weird sacrifice things were them trying to study how everything worked. That would explain why this company in particular seems to have the most intricate knowledge of everything that is happening, as it's run by a guy named Rob and his Doppelganger from the other timeline, giving them knowledge of both timelines simultaneously. It was mentioned in one of the earlier videos with the children being swapped that it's not impossible for Doppelgangers to have different last names, and that could be a hint that this is what is happening with the Robs.
Me starting the video: There's no way it's gonna get crazier than monsters in the Statue of Liberty. Me an hour later: WHAT DO YOU MEAN THE SPHINX WAS FLYING OFF MARS INTO SPACE??
Something interesting to note is that after Virginia's second lobotomy, her paintings became very simple and innocent, almost childlike. While this is meant to be a reflection of what she wanted her life to be, it's also true that lobotomies can massively affect someone's personality for life, including a childlike state of mind.
theres also a line that the first lobotomy failed the insides of her body are mirrored unsucessful lobotomies leave lasting, if not deadly, injuries her 2nd wonderland book still looks like if she were drawn it as a child. if this implication isnt horrible, i dont know what is
I think that the bombs used in the “Rockefeller” airships were just conventional explosives unrelated to the crowns, and said crowns were just a means of providing lift for the zeppelins themselves, rather than helium/hydrogen canisters as used by rigid airships in our own timeline
I think so too. The crowns would provide very stable and controllable platforms, allowing for ease of use during war. They may also be impervious to conventional weaponry, like AA guns, since Rockefeller had to fund the construction of a death ray in order to kill one.
That's also my opinion. If you have giant floating heads and you're making then into weapons, then building a giant floating boat around them sounds best.
So its basically meant that the airship isnt that effective so the people that controlled the pyramid managed to shot it as a sort of taking revenge i guess?.

What’s funny is that baby powder is made of talc, which is a base, and vinegar is a weakened acid. The acid makes the heads shrink, and the base keeps everything blocked out. Maybe the acid makes these Wonderland creatures stronger, and bases make the Wonderland creatures weaker. So what if you put vinegar onto a special tree or monument?
"The Lincoln Lookers don't seem to be suffering." They are forced to sit in one spot, drinking soup out of the eyeholes of a mask they are forced to wear constantly. They are forced into a cage that likely doesn't even fill the whole statue and just makes enough room for a body. This is all done without their consent and possibly for years on end. That is horrifying.
The mirror tree and Mister Squirrel may be references to Yggdrasil, the world tree in Norwegian mythology. It was said to span across worlds, which may assist the concept of each "tree" being in a different world. Also, a mythical creature shaped like a squirrel named Ratatosokr often played messenger as it traveled along the world tree.

I think that the Everett in Wonderland is Virginia’s son. When she “lost him” he ended up trapped there. He says “anyone could be her” as he is looking for his mother whose face he never knew. The fact that they flash around together might also be evidence of this. When she flashes back to Rockefeller Plaza, she feels sad that she “lost” him, mirroring when she later loses hik as an unborn child. Also, the fact that she has to give a name to a grown man tells me that he doesn’t know his own name, as in, he was never given one.
I could talk about Wendi’s sudden shift of “I don’t want to sound like a conspiracy theorist” to Tin Foil Hat Man, but I just want to mention the introduction of Wendidad
That tree being like "You can exchange a life for your own" and then teleporting her into a body that just fell off the washington momument for hundreds of years IN ADDITION to taking her unborn child seems scummy of the tree.

It’s the best “ feed me Seymour” ever

minor note with the Maize Movie Maker episode: the fact that the first at-home computer says "Ahoy-hoy!" on its screen implies that, unlike our own reality in which people decided to say "Hello" when answering the phone, Mr. Bell got his wish in that people instead say "Ahoy"
Yep that's awesome he did his homework
That could imply Thomas Edison didn’t exist, because Thomas Edison suggested that the word “hello” should become the universal greeting instead of Graham Bells “ahoy”, and someone else invented the light bulb.
It can also imply Bell invented the computer.

Hear me out, the reason Virginia (Nixon) took so long in wonderland was just cause Virginia (Dean) hadn’t touched the tip of the tree yet, and she was trapped in a waiting room of sorts while the alternate version hadn’t touched the tip yet
Shit I guess that could explain why Everett is ther too. He was waiting for his baby self
Yooo that’s wild to think about
@@pezyg maybe he was there and was “protecting” Virginia when they met in wonderland because the baby Everett wasn’t born yet and he didn’t want to be stuck in wonderland permanently (no baby, no exit)
Oooo I like that. And since time is fuckey there, it stretched a lot longer than it truly was?
That'd also explain the apparent time travel. So "reality anchors" don't necessarily need to occupy the same point in spacetime, they just need to align at *_some_* point.

A passing thought about something you mentioned on the timeline:
You said that Maize was founded by two Rob's, both with different last names.
That makes sense, but I think the two Robs are just a play on Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak, the founders of Apple

“The 20th absentee has been recovered” shook me. This series is genius. This is now my Roman Empire

Oh-
HOLY- Is the Lincoln Statue a Sphinx?!?!

Someone please explain this to me like i'm five 😭💀
@@kristelbrok998 Because the Washington Monument is confirmed to be a "special tree", the president forcing someone to be trapped in the Lincoln Memorial (AKA a Lincolnlooker) is most likely to make them constantly stare at the aforementioned "special tree" for as-of-yet unknown reasons.
my favorite part of this series is that everyone is just ok apparently with Alcatraz absorbing half of the US and big ship crab.
Reminds me of the MFPNP universe lol
The fact that George Washington being alive is a minor part of the story is so funny

I feel so bad for Virginia, she just wanted to put a star on a tree but she ended up going through the in-between with a random guy and when she comes back her parents abandoned her because she was different.
Damn just got to the part where you said this 😭
I agree, the trees did her dirty, shits fucked up
Yeah, this was my first thought as well. That's really screwed up... But it also makes for a good story.

I’ve got the strangest feeling that androids started performing surgeries so normal surgeons wouldn’t notice that everyone’s organs are backwards
How backwards can it be and still be functional? I'm really curious...
@@OriginalGlorfindelGood question.
@@OriginalGlorfindel It's a real-life condition called "situs inversus"! Typically people die young when they have this, but a woman named Rose Marie Bentley is thought to be the oldest person who had it. She died at 99 and didn't know her organs were flipped. They only found out after death because she was an organ donor. Her heart was the only organ not on the opposite side, which is called levocardia when you have situs inversus. Interesting stuff!
@@chaoscrab Why, thank you! Was dying to know... all kinds of possibilities came to mind, including UPSIDE DOWN!
Ridiculous to get hung up on such a minor detail, but I ran the gamut of imagination!
I can personally attest that I almost died from appendicitis because my appendix was on the wrong side of my body so none of the scans were finding it was failing. The surgeon who eventually saved me was really excited the next morning and showed me scans and asked if she could use my surgery for further research.
Her guess at the time is because I played hockey as a kid maybe I'd gotten hit hard enough to bust my appendix under my bowels or something but she was leaning on the chance that I was just born with it on the wrong side.
Loved that you had your dad on, I kinda get the feeling he doesn't quite get what's going on, but supports his son enough to be onboard with the weirdness.

I think you might be overthinking the Crown's capacities as a war tool. I think that quite simply, they have the power to float, and nothing else. They're extremely good at it, so Germans are able to construct giant blimps out of extremely heavy but durable material, necessitating the special ray. The bombs are just that, bombs.
That makes a lot of sence tbh.
Your right wish we could pin this for wendi

The "Ever Given" ship isnt a parody of the Evergreen ship, because theres a lot of Evergreen ships. Evergreen is the company, the ship that got stuck in the Suez is called Ever Given. The same ship as in our timeline got stuck, but ours didnt have a giant monster crab sadly.

It's actually possible for all of your organs to be on the opposite side. It's a rare genetic condition, and can also happen in identical twins if they split with one as a mirror image of the other.
