Its really crazy to take a look at Farming sim 25, vs Flight simulator 24, and how the flight Sim has better ground/vegetation than a game based on farming and vegetation. Puts in perspective how CRAZY this game is going to be.
21:16 Looks like they need to fix the traffic AI when entering roundabouts. Look at the car immediately switch directions when it entered the roundabout in the wrong direction. 😅
I'm scared. 4 times more detail = 4 times more polygons = way higher GPU load. I'm not sure multi core optimization will help a lot, since all work regarding polygons is sent to the GPU. It seems I need to collect money for 4090. Also, the part that is more important for me is the LOD, which is still catastrophically bad, all the nearby mountains are completely blurry.
...Finally again. My prayers have been answered. Career mode with flight licenses. Just like before. So I had to buy the Collector's Edition straight away, and not "just" fly in the Game Pass like with the slimmed down 2020 version. I'm happy to support something like that^^ Thank you ♥

Geez I hope they haven't just gone for scenery again. Almost none of the guys with full rentable Sims went 2020, a few in Sydney are still on FSX because 2020 is just too unstable. Let's not forget the first year of fs2020 where we lived without wind! I may as well have hooked up the honeycomb to a train simulator. Soooo many bugs I am very very much hoping are resolved in this!
@@tj_mcdonald21 How about turning the quality settings down a notch so it's on par with what the xbox does? Nobody says you need to crank everything up to ultra and then be disappointed about your performance.
@@tj_mcdonald21 Then you are either doing something wrong, or your idea of a mid range PC is something from 2010 (then you may be correct). I've seen 60fps on what I would consider a low end system. Maybe you've got a mid range system hooked up to a 4k monitor, or the system you're thinking of is starved for memory? Go below the minimum RAM threshold and even an otherwise high-end system will choke. In my experience the problem is more related to keeping MSFS' running well. Loading it up with add-ons, to name just one of many examples, can easily kill performance.
I feel like my grandad (born in 1878) must have felt when he saw his first aeroplane about 1910! I started with MSFS 5, I can hardly believe where we have go to it's INCREDIBLE!
I wish more people would understand that instead of nitpicking every detail of everything. This is truly incredible and I have been flying sims since the Janes ATF and Falcon 3.0 days
Yes it is a "giant leap " . The new version looks like a massive improvement in all the rendering and dynamics with the much needed physics that was always missing. It's making the older 4 year old version look really ordinary , especially with the depicted foreground detail pixilated meshing. It was like MS was giving customers a temporary fix /version on the older sim all while in the background they worked on this superior version. It just took 4 more years to come to fruition .
The developers at Asobo have clearly put a lot of care and talent into this new installment. I am amazed by the quality of the realization of FS 2024 to offer an unparalleled flight experience. The realism is taken even further, the images are worthy of paintings or watercolors, it’s stunning. The immersion is total thanks to this new opus. You will really need a valid excuse to leave your flight now😉😉. I can’t wait to get my hands on this FS 2024. Really, congratulations to the Asobo team.
So about 30s about flight model improvements. Cessna felt solid? That’s it. This is the new flight sim we’re talking about and all anyone can talk about is everything and anything else but flying itself.
@@jfavignano just a little more on flying part itself. One of the biggest complaints on FS20 has been its flight model. Yet no one really goes into any details on the flight model of the new platform. I just hope someone would do it.
If they are using i9s and RTX 4080 Supers with 64gb of Ram, and still getting the stutters I've seen in most of these preview videos, then I suspect quite the backlash from the community. Keep in mind there is no GSX running, they are using default airports, default planes, and no traffic.
nah people are not factoring us capturing the footage from a atmos (used for DLSR cameras) onto a SSD drive. I wasn't happy with the capture vs what I saw with my eyes.
I just hope they keep the feature on start-up when you get the "press any button to continue" and you press every button but nothing happens until you restart a couple times. Its like playing the lotttery, maybe it will let you play, maybe it wont, its anyone's guess!
walk around first person view in msfs 2024 must be a visable character we all users can see during doing walk arounds or seeing them flying and interact in the sim or even walk in your plane as a gast in your plane who wants to fly with you for sightseeing and even speak to them this makes the sim much more livingly like a first person shooter idea thats so much fun in multiplay combined in discord talking to eachother
Boom. Still severe micro stutters 17:31, but hey. Look at those giraffes and cows. Amazing. If you only knew how many times I have asked for that in my A320 on final. "Damn, the performance is lagging. I wish they added some pretty cows to compensate for that".
you are judging the game by one video already smh. They said it gonna use multithreading meaning the sim is gonna use multiple cores which improves performance and not be cpu bottlenecked
It’s your take albeit not a great one, you didn’t play it so I get it but you are wrong. This was hotel internet on a dev game build and I would never capture footage the way they did here. Mind you this was captured in 4k. I don’t upload videos nor game in 4k myself. I didn’t see micro stutters at my station nor in VR.
What an awesome review! This looks breathtaking. My comment and question is this: While I am excited for all the upgrades to be more sim-like, I am also concerned that it will be too complicated. I am an avid simmer, but I am 47 and I am not using this to learn how to be a pilot. While I love third-party add-ons, planes like PMDG are so complex and not what I am looking for. From what you have seen, will 2024 still cater to the aviation enthusiast who loves to do real-world flights in an A320 or 737, but without being too overly complex as far as systems go? In the same way that I used to love Madden until I felt like I needed to be an NFL coach to understand how to play the game. Again, awesome review and I can not wait for the launch!!
24:12 "Glass scratches" - Maybe whoever you talked to didn't explain it well, but this is almost certainly a texture. Probably the normal map but maybe also roughness. It's not a texture maybe in the sense that the effect isn't baked into the diffuse, but it would be crazy to try to do this procedurally, when it can be achieved very efficiently in the PBR materials.
@@jfavignano You showed a controller talking for 5 seconds and some liveries. But will it be better managed than 2020 or as good as a third party ATC app? We will see.
At first, I thought about staying with MSFS, especially during the earlier months since there's usually a lot of bugs, but 4 minutes in and I'm already impressed
The tech is finally here and detailed enough to be immersive. A solid career mode that incorporates any of these tasks anywhere in the world is will be the final piece of the puzzle.

Hopefully they did these things: 1. Fix crash to desktop / overheating problems 2. Reduce load times 3. Fix ATC to be less robotic (and more accurate) 4. Fix the taxi lines to be accurate 5. Fix the flight physics and simulate crashes 6. Fix the inop's in the cockpit 7. Include Preflights (walkarounds) Nice to haves.. G1000+ flight plan loading with foreflight/garmin pilot (just like the real world), ATC with accurate dialog (nobody says switch to 121 decimal 5), on approach don't have me climb to 25000 feet just to have me descend to 2000 ft 3 seconds later Looks like only a few of these will be addressed. They did focus on improving graphics and detail which I never thought was an issue in 2020. The reason I stopped playing 2020 was due to load times
Those comparison shots are awesome. It could turn into a hiking simulator. Imagine landing your bush plane on a gravel river bank, hop out and go for a hike and after that fly to another location
How about a replay function improvement? The one thing I dislike about FS2020 was that you had to rely on add-ons for that... which are not that user-friendly and so-so in performance. Has this been improved? Wish they had one like X-planes...
These comparisons have me left speechless! This is a major step up in just about every last category. Folks, i think in two months, we're going to see yet another ground breaking evolution in flight simulator history. The sky is calling, definitely.

Its really crazy to take a look at Farming sim 25, vs Flight simulator 24, and how the flight Sim has better ground/vegetation than a game based on farming and vegetation. Puts in perspective how CRAZY this game is going to be.
How drunk were you when you wrote that
MS can afford 800 experts to work for years on one product...a 10 man team never can come close no matter how hard they try
@@krz9000 they did sell 6 million copies of there last game (fs22).... moneys not a problem. at all.
WOW! Just incredible! Thanks for the video, looks amazing!
Thanks man, hope all is well down there! You are gonna love the new sim
Amazing meeting you finally Jeff! Awesome event and love the video!
21:16 Looks like they need to fix the traffic AI when entering roundabouts. Look at the car immediately switch directions when it entered the roundabout in the wrong direction. 😅
Awesome Jeff! I must say I haven't clicked on a video this fast in a while, but this is just sending my excitement levels through the roof!
I'm happy to support something like that^^ Thank you ♥
you will need a video card that cost like a good used car
Nope
Do you know if ATC is going to be improved at all?
Im personally psyced for the Cessna 404. I work for Cape Air and I work on and with the 402 a lot, sad to not see a 402 yet in the sim but Ill take the slightly longer 404 with geared engines anyday!
It's so amazing how it's a flight simulator at its core but they took the time to perfect the details on ships, terminals and cows
I love that developers nowadays are finally letting creators get hands-on experience first to give us honest, transparent feedback
Also, the trees look so much better. They were such a disappointment in 2020
@@SilentSimulations Yes honest I believe he was honest in the fact that he got to get flown out to play the new simulator with a asobo I don’t think he lied about that
Tell me where I lied?
@@SilentSimulations And you're a paranoid delusional.
You didn't lie. You just didn't have anything bad to say.
@@joeynuggetz well it also didn’t look like it was a full cover to cover review either. It was a showcase. He probably didn’t even have access to the full sim
It was a pleasure to meet you at this event, buddy! Fantastic video you made and I look forward to seeing you again next time!
Absolutely man, good times!
Standard Edition 79.89€
Deluxe Edition 109.99€
Premium Deluxe Edition 140.09€
Aviator Edition 219.99€ 😦
Ahhh I'm so excited for this. I haven't played Flight Simulator since like... 95? I was mulling over getting 2020 for a couple years, but once I heard about 2024 I decided to wait a bit longer. Thanks for the video. I always appreciate your thoughtful overviews.
Looks amazing, down right awesome and dirty. All we need now is Combat Flight Sim to return and Crash Dynamics
god november cant come faster
Geez I hope they haven't just gone for scenery again. Almost none of the guys with full rentable Sims went 2020, a few in Sydney are still on FSX because 2020 is just too unstable. Let's not forget the first year of fs2020 where we lived without wind! I may as well have hooked up the honeycomb to a train simulator. Soooo many bugs I am very very much hoping are resolved in this!
They’ve gone for both scenery and physics.
Some of this stuff is insane. My PC is going to explode lol
It runs on a lowly Xbox. Most likely your PC will be fine.
@@a5cent msfs 2020 struggles to run at all on anything below a high end system but runs great on xbox. Most likely a similar story with this one.
@@tj_mcdonald21
How about turning the quality settings down a notch so it's on par with what the xbox does?
Nobody says you need to crank everything up to ultra and then be disappointed about your performance.
@@a5cent the game can’t run at 20fos on low settings on a mid range setup. It’s a very intensive.
@@tj_mcdonald21
Then you are either doing something wrong, or your idea of a mid range PC is something from 2010 (then you may be correct).
This is truly incredible and I have been flying sims since the Janes ATF and Falcon 3.0 days
yeah X-Plane is giving up 🤣
and how many pounds of uranium 235 are required to run this at 30fps?
THE REAL GTA 6
Yes it is a "giant leap " . The new version looks like a massive improvement in all the rendering and dynamics with the much needed physics that was always missing. It's making the older 4 year old version look really ordinary , especially with the depicted foreground detail pixilated meshing. It was like MS was giving customers a temporary fix /version on the older sim all while in the background they worked on this superior version. It just took 4 more years to come to fruition .
Interesting that they are calling it 2024 when we're almost done with the year. You'd think they'd give it a 2025 version for marketing purposes.
It releases in 2024. If you have a birthday in December would you round up your age since the year is almost over?
@@Laurton Marketing a product and birthdays aren't exactly the same thing. 😉"New and improved" sells better than "old and inferior".
Does is matter to any of us if it is called 2024 or 2025? I only care what is in the sim and how it plays.
@@aavvv_ Would you buy a 2024 model of a vehicle so close to 2025 releases? Just food for thought.
@@ExpeditionOverlanding I would and have! Why not?
The developers at Asobo have clearly put a lot of care and talent into this new installment. I am amazed by the quality of the realization of FS 2024 to offer an unparalleled flight experience. The realism is taken even further, the images are worthy of paintings or watercolors, it’s stunning. The immersion is total thanks to this new opus. You will really need a valid excuse to leave your flight now😉😉. I can’t wait to get my hands on this FS 2024. Really, congratulations to the Asobo team.
are those stutters i see ?
An atmos system capturing 4k yeah the capture wasn’t smooth. Other than the crappy hotel internet I didn’t see any
This is not what I was expecting..I'm speechless. Looks like I'm gonna have to upgrade my computer now.
I hope there will be an option to download the scenery etc, Cloud seems like it’ll be very stuttery
So about 30s about flight model improvements. Cessna felt solid? That’s it. This is the new flight sim we’re talking about and all anyone can talk about is everything and anything else but flying itself.
This is a preview with extremely limited time with it. I don’t know what you are expecting.
Can’t wait for msfs2024 to be released
Man talk about a massive difference!! 2024 looks outstanding! Incredibly detailed and very accurate!
Sim of the year coming up
I just hope they keep the feature on start-up when you get the "press any button to continue" and you press every button but nothing happens until you restart a couple times. Its like playing the lotttery, maybe it will let you play, maybe it wont, its anyone's guess!
I hope it runs well on the Series X but considering how flight sim 2020 ran I don't have the highest expectations.
I never had issues on Series X
walk around first person view in msfs 2024 must be a visable character we all users can see during doing walk arounds or seeing them flying and interact in the sim or even walk in your plane as a gast in your plane who wants to fly with you for sightseeing and even speak to them
this makes the sim much more livingly like a first person shooter idea thats so much fun in multiplay combined in discord talking to eachother
Boom. Still severe micro stutters 17:31, but hey. Look at those giraffes and cows. Amazing. If you only knew how many times I have asked for that in my A320 on final. "Damn, the performance is lagging. I wish they added some pretty cows to compensate for that".
Always one person.
you are judging the game by one video already smh.
I’m most stoked about the missions. 3 million missions that change daily? WOW. I hope there is a random button.
Ok but how’s the performance?
I seriously am looking forward to your content on here with this Sim Jeff. I can't wait
Great video showing the 2020 vs. 2024. This is exactly what I wanted to see. I'm very excited. Thanks!
Starting to bid farewell to friends and family now, theyre not going to see me for some time ! The hype is absolutely real
20:53 We got capybaras in a flight simulator before GTA 6
This is actually GTA 7. They just haven't named it that yet.
Just a friendly reminder. This is how the SIM looks at friggin launch! Give it 1 year and let's see how much better it is
Yeah but, did they make any ATC and traffic improvements?
I showed that in this very video, we had an extremely limited time to capture
@@jfavignano You showed a controller talking for 5 seconds and some liveries. But will it be better managed than 2020 or as good as a third party ATC app? We will see.
At first, I thought about staying with MSFS, especially during the earlier months since there's usually a lot of bugs, but 4 minutes in and I'm already impressed
Jeff, amazing breakdown of 2024. Great job!!
Appreciate it!
The tech is finally here and detailed enough to be immersive. A solid career mode that incorporates any of these tasks anywhere in the world is will be the final piece of the puzzle.
when i was a kid, and some time i lived with my grandparents, and when was close to go home, i did create my own calendar and drawing days gone for see how i close to see my parents and my home... that's was long long days. and this two month without 1 day so far will long, very long for me... i need this stuff here and now
In the Mt Fuji pic, you can actually spot the grid based weather system, as the cloud around the mountain looks quite rectangular rather than circular.
🤯 I'm so excited for MSFS 2024!!!! I love aviation and sim flying!!! going be nice to see you Jeff covering Vids on it, I enjoy any content you do where your behind a flightstick 🛫🛬🚁🛩
Cannot wait, this new sim is gonna be great
Hopefully they did these things:
1. Fix crash to desktop / overheating problems
2. Reduce load times
3. Fix ATC to be less robotic (and more accurate)
4. Fix the taxi lines to be accurate
5. Fix the flight physics and simulate crashes
6. Fix the inop's in the cockpit
7. Include Preflights (walkarounds)
Nice to haves.. G1000+ flight plan loading with foreflight/garmin pilot (just like the real world), ATC with accurate dialog (nobody says switch to 121 decimal 5), on approach don't have me climb to 25000 feet just to have me descend to 2000 ft 3 seconds later
Looks like only a few of these will be addressed. They did focus on improving graphics and detail which I never thought was an issue in 2020. The reason I stopped playing 2020 was due to load times
A lot of these were added, yes
Those comparison shots are awesome. It could turn into a hiking simulator. Imagine landing your bush plane on a gravel river bank, hop out and go for a hike and after that fly to another location
How about a replay function improvement? The one thing I dislike about FS2020 was that you had to rely on add-ons for that... which are not that user-friendly and so-so in performance. Has this been improved? Wish they had one like X-planes...
Better replay function
Awesome Jeff, I am excited to see content on this channel from this new game cant wait!
These comparisons have me left speechless! This is a major step up in just about every last category. Folks, i think in two months, we're going to see yet another ground breaking evolution in flight simulator history. The sky is calling, definitely.
Would have loved to see a side by side video clip between the 2 Sims over the same location.
