In a perfect world where perfectly plumb door frames exist, according to the directions, it should only take approximately 20 minutes. However, in the actual real world where houses settle, door frames have strange measurements, the sliding track is broken, and the door from Lowe’s is bent, it could take at least a couple hours if not longer 🤦🏻♀️
*Never* use power tools on a screen door #1. It is easy to over-strip the screw. Put the top in first...use putty knife to pry under the base wheels so it moves into the track...then tighten the lower screws on the 2 ends of the door to raise the wheels and put the door at the right height. It is not difficult.
I use a 12V Milwaukee impact driver as a screwdriver for years, haven't stripped anything yet. For something more delicate use a real screwdriver. Just in case I have a full tap and die set.
It’s very common for the frame itself to not be completely parallel due to the way your house was built. Not really a fix for it other than rebuilding your frame.
Not an easy job which is why I am on here. Glad I am not the only one struggling. Problem I am having is the screen door doesnt slide great it sort of teeters and if its too tight it wont slide at all
The 2 screws on the bottom only need to be adjusted when making sure the door is plum and level on the track. UNLESS the height of the opening requires it like in this situation. Once it is established (Bottom) You adjust the top for a snug fit. That door SHOULD have absolutely no shaking motion when opening and closing.
Guarantee that screen jumps off the track every time it's used unless you very lightly apply even pressure at the top and bottom, then sloooowly open it.
Would’ve been a great video but the camera op never bothered to show closeups of your explanation on the “ridge” and “valley”, so it’s not really any use to show how the door aligns.
I've been having problems with my screen staying on the track. Come to find out, it wasn't even the screen. When Lowe's brought our updated kitchen appliances, they bent the bottom of the frame by repeatedly rolling the dolly over it.
Why'd you edit out the cuss words and you swigging a beer? I refuse to believe anyone does any house work without cussing or mother trucking something.
Yet another Sleight of Hand How-To video. The guy does a lot of mumbling into the screen door and manipulates those screws in some way, for some reason, he is not explaining.
Thank you!!! I’m a new homeowner and young so this helps a ton!
The New Balance dad shoes are the perfect aesthetic for this video
Lmfao x 10. Lmfao

How long did it truly take? I have the same door and over 1 hour and still cannot adjust correctly.
Well stop commenting on UA-cam you'll get it done quicker
This should only take a few minutes

Lmaoooo never done this before but I came to the same conclusion off observation 🤦🏾♂️💀
Not if you know how to use them. I'm a technician and I use my impact on everything but I'm experienced
Thank you Sir.
Those screen doors suck, they always jam on me every single time, i replace those often and its a hell to put up
Thank you!
Excellent intro tune :-)
Thank yo so much!
When you see a dude with those white leather New Balance sneakers on, you know he will get the job done.
Where does the rain water drain out when getting in the window bottom tracks ?
What is the (brand name) of that sliding screen door that You used for the replacement? I've been unable to find one of that particular fabrication.
Should the spring loaded wheels keep the door evenly in place? For some reason I have one inch of space at the top when I have the door closed

Yeah mine too
I like your video. I am looking for this same screen door. Can you please give me the model an maker’s of this screen patio door?
Thanks in advance
Are the wheels at the top and bottom the same? How can u tell whats up lol
These are the old style cheap screen doors that are just like that nowadays they have really good rollers not the plastic type that they used to have
I think you meant to say “how to put in a screen door”. Please work on your camera skills,it was a bit blurry. Anyways, glad I watched.
Isn’t the screen door backwards
thank you
you are welcome, we are always open for suggestions on new videos thanks
Kristy Home Solutions I got my door back on! now, I need to fix a leaky faucet.
i need the whole screen door replaced.
This was helpful!
If I want to shit myself I go to a Def Leppard gig ))))))
Screen door Schmeen door ! Hes cute !!!
Warning: audio only out of left ear bud if you only have on the right side.
Title should be "How to *install* a sliding screen door".
My wheels don’t meet the top by a freaking centimeter… it’s fully extended of coarse
That was painful to watch and I’m still stuck with my question
don't adjust the focus 20 times in the middle of the video. Just a tip.
I replaced mine and the door was too long, even with extenders minimized.
In my situation the screen is 0.5 inch short.
Any idea 💡 what to do.?
dude you installed it upside down... lmao!
no sound!
Nice

I don't have top ridge very bizzare
be nice if there was sound
you didn't show me how to remove the original screen door
Ummm..he didnt explain anything.
I think you need help you are not helping 😂😂
Hi suggest you set your camera on manual focus not Auto Focus
Step one don’t buy a universal one from a big box
Step 2 hire someone that knows how to replace it and pay them to do it
stop with the blur function!!!
Do dont have idea what do u do jajajajajajaja jajajajajajajajja crazy
Or maybe, "How to remain quiet while teaching screen door installation". Come on, how about the step by step?
horrible instructions - did not explain a thing
Useless I hope he doesn’t do this for a living.
...you don’t even explain what you’re doing.
Your camera person nees to take video of the actuall "ridge" and "valley" you speak of for newbies.
