A sometimes useless Canadian home owner here. Did a quick YT search on screen door replacement and your was up top. This video is great. Giving me the confidence to do this on my own. Much appreciated, sir.
Do you have the part number or a link for the strike by chance? We installed the same screen door and found our old strike was too big for the door to close properly. Thank you for the informative video!
Can i install a 36" 80 high screen door on a glass door size 48" 80? I don't need to widely open but partially for air circulation. Thank you for a reply
It seems like I’m missing a top track. So there’s no way a wheel can rest on that slim track. But it seems to be working for now without it. How hard is it to put in a track and get it to the right length ?
How do you measure to get the correct size door? My sliding doors are missing the entire screen part, but I can see the grooves where one used to be and I was trying to buy one of the replacements from Lowe’s. I’m just not sure what size I need.
Hi!! I bought the same exact screen door but I’m having trouble closing the screen properly… it slides okay but towards the last 1” away from the latch it struggles to go through 😢 what am i doing wrong?
I bought the same door. Any tips on how to put the weather stripping back on?! It is not as easy as you made it look. There is no way it just snaps back on. Please help!
Thank you for this video. I replaced my screen door today. The new door did not come with a weather strip. Would I be able to find it at the hardware store?
He bought it from Lowes. I know this because it just so happens I bought the exact same door the day before I watched this tutorial and recognized the packaging.
You don't mention the little triangle piece of medal that is under the door when you are trying to adjust it. Can't slide it up to correct measure because of it.
So I'm installing this exact screen door. It's on the track but the top is loose enough that it won't perfectly fit close enough for the latch to reach. I did it just like you did but it's not fitting perfectly any ideas? Shot in the dark
@@DoItYourselfDad It's only possible to replace the sliding screen doors in first floor units at my condo. The tension adjustment screws are on the inside so that's not an issue.
@@caseyhartman7094 The issue will be adjusting the sension on the wheels at the bottom of the door. On the model I used, the adjusters are on the outisde of the door. You should shop around though, you may be able to find one with the adjustment on the inside.
@@srtb3931 lol. Went to check mine and it wasn't even completely in. But put it in as straight as possible and just use a small mallet of hard tool to tippy tap it through and then trim the ends.
@@uluv2c8 Thanks for the reply. It took some serious hand strength but I managed to get the weather strip on. I had to angle the outside edge of the strip into the outside edge of the door, then like you said, tap it with a tool, (I used the handle of my screw driver). Once you get a portion in you can press it in from that point. I started in the middle than worked my way up then down. It's absolutely misleading how this guy in this video totally glossed over the MOST DIFFICULT PART OF THE INSTALLATION!!! HORRIBLE!!!
So I noticed my screen door is accumulated with green algea from past storms. Can I just get it replaced with anther thin glass or would power washing it tear the screens? And whoever installed this patio doors before I bought this house must of forgot to put the weather seal on the bottom it seems.
I would try spraying the screen like a bleach and water solution. Powerwashing may damage the screen, if you did try it, I would try it with a lower pressure nozzle.
Our cat I agree. Our cat jumped at a bug and took the screen door right out of the frame it rides in. They're all plastic now. You used to get metal wheels
1:30 “Get the track up inside there” Inside where? Is there some kind of unspoken mandate that any screen door how-to’s showing the actual connecting pieces is illegal?
Bought the same brand today as your showed and randomly came across your video. Couldn't be simpler than that. Many thanks.
Thank you so much . Really helped me today to fix my rented apartment door . Thank you
Good job on the install. The weather stripping we usually call bug seal can be cut with a utility blade.
Ive been putting off fixing my screen door, but its come to that point.....Thanks for the tutorial~
ugh, gotta do this tomorrow. Thanks mate this-- saves me time and mistakes :)

Wow, so easy, thanks for the demo!
Thank you! This was super helpful
Thanks, the small tips about how to remove my screen door and then put it back on are very useful.

Ok you make it sound easy without using unnecessary "big" words and it really is easy. Seen other videos throw in spelling contest words like whaaa?
Would love to see a car detail/wash video!
Thank you! I just brought the new door home and realized how clueless I was - until now! :)

This was a great help. Thank you for posting!
Thanks for the video because I really didn’t feel like doing it. My wife thinks I’m the Handyman God everyday getting off work she got a new project😂
your video was one of the better ones that i have viewed Is the weather stripping the same as the fuzzy window cleaner? are they placed the same
Yes, it is

Would this work with a Pella Screen door which is on the inside of the patio door?
It should be very similar, yes.
Thank you for this video. I replaced my screen door today. The new door did not come with a weather strip. Would I be able to find it at the hardware store?
You should be able to pick one up at the hardware store, the weather strips are a replaceable item.
Clear and too the point! Thanks! Do you have a link to the door you used?

You're welcome!
Hey nice video can you do one on a French style door that has 2 sliding screen doors?
So I'm installing this exact screen door. It's on the track but the top is loose enough that it won't perfectly fit close enough for the latch to reach. I did it just like you did but it's not fitting perfectly any ideas? Shot in the dark
You will probably have to replace or readjust the latch from where it was with the previous door.
Thanks
Is there any easy way to install a screen door while being inside? It's challenging pulling the bottom of the screen door towards the track.
You would probably have to do it from the outside, that is where the tension adjustments are.
@@DoItYourselfDad It's only possible to replace the sliding screen doors in first floor units at my condo. The tension adjustment screws are on the inside so that's not an issue.
Maybe I can find a strong magnet or suction cups with a handle.

I picked this one up at Home Depot, so I don't have a link, sorry.

How about how to install a screen door on a regular door?
We’ve got one of those!
Mi riel creo q no es el mismo que puedo hacer es muy grueso el riel y se sale la puerta debajo
I dislike these height adjustable doors. I found them very flimsy and dislikable.
