- How to replace 2014 Mercedes Sprinter front brake pads with wear sensor. Easy job, no sweat, Other than the lug nuts so tight. Mercedes lug wrench head breaks off. Torx bolt set amzn.to/3qJlNi1 I also recommend possibly bleeding the brakes and adding new fresh brake fluid if your brakes are soft. Dot 4 or higher fluid amzn.to/3HpXLPv Bleed tool to make it easy. amzn.to/3Hwkjyl I later found OEM on Amazon. Amazon OEM Front amzn.to/3EMeeMq Amazon OEM Rear amzn.to/3FH5lF4 Amazon Front wear sensors 2 pack amzn.to/3qIuQQ0
I got the OEM pads from AutohausAz, Front www.autohausaz.com/pn/MB-9064... DON'T Forget 2 Front Sensors www.autohausaz.com/pn/BO-9065... Rear www.autohausaz.com/pn/MB-0084... In hindsight I would have done the Amazon ones. The wear sensors seem to be a great deal and they have a protective cover over the wires and mine did not. Not OEM but I think it doen't matter as its a simple component. Hope this helps, please subscribe. Thank you.

I like this video - particularly the summary towards the end. I too came across what felt like almost seized lug bolts on a sprinter...and yes I remember the noise as I loosened them.
It is tempting to add some grease when replacing them..but my understanding is that if you then tighten them to specified torque or just what most of us used to do ie. until it 'feels' right..., because there is less friction if lubricated, the stress on the bolt gets to be much higher than specified and they can then snap as a result perhaps now, or perhaps later (worse :) Many years ago someone told me to use copper grease...but after having watched some engineers demonstrate the above in youtube vids, I have given it up :)
Tip: when you're removing the lugs use a impact wrench while it's jacked up. They'll pop right off.
You wonna know why it's so hard to get off? Because they're lug bolts not lug nuts. All that weight is forced into that side of the bolt and trying to remove it is near impossible.
Good point. If I had one. What about changing on the road? Bring impact wrench? You have a battery one or air?
I just did a brake job on a 2016 mercedes sprinter and replaced front and rear brakes. Lug bolts came off easily with it jacked up.
Most stupid European vehicles have lug bolts. Try taking the lugs off a bmw.. same thing until you jack it up then all that weight on those bolts are gone and can pop right off with an impact wrench.
@@wetlifesportsI'm a mobile mechanic and have a few battery 1s
@@crunkwun its just now sinking in what you mean, bolts vs nuts, got it. Thx
@wetlifesports if you don't have an impact wrench you could probably try jacking it up just enough until the wheel is nearly off the ground. As long as the wheel grips the ground but enough where most of the weight is off those lug bolts so you can use your lug wrench. It should make it a lot easier.
I drove mine for over 6k miles after it came on. Still life left.
Is there a reason why you went with merc brakes pads?
The price was ok and i try to stay stock, they can be fussy..
What did the warning light look like
Brake symbol, manual shows
they are 'Torx' screws. also they are 'G' cramps, not 'C" clamp. the pad with the sensor should go to the pad that wears faster. agree to lube the wheel studs both the thread and taper. I do not like your vehicle support with jacks. ALWAYS pump the brake pedal several times before driving as you have no brakes until this has been done

Very scary!! 🙃
Minutes about tire bolts and two other behind rubbers, then the saddle which is the hardest part actually to take out and nothing about it but abracadabra it’s off. No hints. Not helpful.
Sorry, but if no mention usually means you'll have the same experience, magical. 🙂 its easy.
Man, this video made it worse, after going out and buying a star torque cause my normal torque didn't work for the sensor attachment bolt, learned that I didn't even need to take that bolt out. Why?? Smh.
Sorry, it made it easier for me. You need star wrenches anyhow...
You didn't actually show how you took the old pads out & put the new ones in.... a bit frustrating
Plug and play
Kinda helpful but not very. Very confusing. There are much better vids to learn from and it def not comprehensive. Move on folks
Sorry, I'm working on getting better. However, i just watched it again. I beg to differ... Thx
You aint showing nothing clearly what kind of video is this??
Really, i though it showed all that was needed. It's quite simple. You won't have any issues. I just watched it again. Its all there. The lug nuts were the toughest part.
