The group of people that Rusty was teaching poker to were all famous tv show actors at the time, from shows like Charmed, Dawson's Creek, One Tree Hill, and That 70s Show, and they all were kind of playing themselves.
the actors playing cards were at the time (late 90's) teen idols.....Holly Marie Combs (Charmed 1998), Topher Grace (That 70's Show 1998), Joshua Jackson (Dawson's Creek 1998), Barry Watson (7th Heaven 1996), and Shane West (Once and Again 1999)
I'm surprised anyone could even get through the reaction with BJ calling out Asia looking like a double scoop of orange sherbet from Baskin Robbins ... 🤣🤣🤣 ... And the thumbnail with the orange hue ... You guys are seriously one of the best ... so real and so fun!
I didn't realize this movie came out so long ago until all the guys were standing in front of the fountain towards the end and I realized how very young they all looked. Time flies...
Popcorn starts in Ms Asia's lap.. somehow mysteriously ends up in BJs lap. At one point Ms Asia goes to reach for it when it's in the middle and the popcorn is gone bahaha hahaha 🤣😂🤣. Y'all going to have to start bringing your own bowls
Saw this movie in the theater in NYC in October or November 2001, a few weeks after 9/11. It was the first time since 9/11 that I really enjoyed myself and forgot about the smoking grave in my city. Ocean’s Eleven holds a special place in my heart for that reason. (Plus, it’s awesome)
Rusty's constant eating was a creative decision by Brad Pitt. He felt that with as busy as Rusty would be getting the heist perfect he wouldn't have time to actually sit down, eat and would be eating on the go. Also, Ocean's Twelve is absolutely brilliant, but different. To me it's criminally underrated.
Warner Brothers gave Soderbergh $55 million to make the most expensive experimental heist film in Hollywood history, but yes it's a masterpiece and 100% the best of the trilogy.
I've seen this SO many times and I still laugh every time at the Bernie/Matt scene with the "cracka" & "colored" comments! 😳 LMAO 😂 They played that scene perfectly.
To clear up the confusion during the poker lesson, Brad Pitt's character is teaching tv/movie stars to play poker. He's in LA so it's the perfect place to find clients. Each of those recognizable actors are actually playing as themselves. 8:43

BJ's psychic powers coming through once again as he compliments Asia's orange vibes with Sunkist orange & Flinstones references - before watching a movie that shows Carl Reiner eating an orange & Don Cheadle saying "Barney Rubble." (You totally brought back some childhood memories talking about that orange push pop! I loved those too!) Fun fact is Saul (Carl Reiner) is played by none other than Rob Reiner's father - Rob is the director of Misery, Princess Bride, Stand By Me, A Few Good Men & When Harry Met Sally; he also stars in This Is Spinal Tap (another one he directs) and Sleepless in Seattle with a very quotable Cary Grant impression from him. Carl Reiner is also famous for playing Dick Van Dyke's boss in The Dick Van Dyke Show - though he was way more involved than just guest starring in it. A member of comedy royalty right there. Love this film, great reaction & BJ looking at Asia like a literal snack made my day! 🤣🤣 Keep 'em coming with Ocean's 12 & 13!!! 🤞🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Loved how Asia was all "this is never gonna work"! LOL Great reaction! Don't stop here - you've gotta watch the other 2 movies: Ocean's 12 & Ocean's 13. It's an epic trilogy!!!!
I saw this in 2001 in my parents basement with a 32" CRT TV in our 'Movie Theater' that was linked via a set of RCA cables to our $3000 PC (My parents saved for a year and a half to get it) in the room upstairs....my dad downloaded this movie in 15 parts off of Napster and had to go up and play each file one by one as we could not afford a $1000 dvd burner for the movies he got. If thats not a vibe i do not know what is.
One of BRAD PITT’S Pitts earliest movies & IMO his BEST performance is his 1st starring role in a film called “KALIFORNIA” 1993 w/ David Duchovny (THE X FILES) & Juliette Lewis. It is a GREAT & highly underrated film & everyone’s performance is absolutely fantastic. 🔥🔥👍🥂🍿
Did they watch Out of Sight (1998) yet? Its success paved the way for Soderbergh & Clooney to make this film. The poker sequence with a bunch of cameos from WB stars was the film's answer to studio execs wanting them to appeal to a younger generation. So, they got 8:10 Barry Watson from 7th Heaven, 8:12 Joshua Jackson from Dawson's Creek, 8:26 Holly Marie Combs from Charmed, 8:29 Shane West from A Walk to Remember, and 8:45 Topher Grace from That 70s Show. It worked.
Oh man, I was a freshman when I saw this movie and I went in completely blind to the plot I was blown away, such a fun series of movies (13 is a blast)
Oceans 11 was classic and arguably the best one. The rest were extensions. I actually also liked Oceans 8 the ones with the women so I recommend check that one out too.
Reel talk! "That guy. He wasn't the guy who stabbed the guy?" 😂😂- Asia trying to figure out who Joshua Jackson, who was not in Gladiator, is. (Dawsons creek, Urban Legend, Cruel Intentions) Brad Pitt eats in movies like he never eats at home. RIP Bernie Mac❤ Everyone of the Ocean's movies are a good time.
Steven Soderbergh is such a brilliant filmmaker. He can make high brow art films AND Hollywood crowd pleasers like this and make them DISTINCTLY his own. To me, Ocean's Twelve is the absolute finest of the trilogy in terms of its radical and borderline experimental plot, style, direction, editing, cinematography, and music (that soundtrack is a BANGER). I really can't wait for that reaction ❤
This is a good one to watch. But I have to admit my favorite version is the original, made in the 60s. The original starred Frank Sinatra and his Rat Pack (Sammy Davis Jr., Dean Martin, Joey Bishop, Peter Lawford and of course F.S.). It was hilarious and takes you back to the early years of Vegas. Thanks for reacting to Oceans 11. 👏👏👏🥰
Hey Asia and BJ. First of all I love you guys! Glad you’re hitting the Oceans movies. You won’t be disappointed. The actor Asia was trying to identify @12:38 at the card game is Joshua Jackson. I think you were thinking it was Russel Crowe from Gladiator. I guess Jackson could possibly pass for a younger version of him. EDIT: fyi the volume is really low in parts 🙃
Speaking of some good popcorn snack hacks. Finely chop up some bacon and cook until there like bacon bits. Save the grease. Toss some freshly popped popcorn in a bowl with some of the bacon grease instead of butter throw in a ranch packet some paprika and the bacon bits and toss again until all popcorn is coated and seasoned then enjoy. You'll thank me later.

The card game at the beginning is Rusty teaching actors how to play poker so they look like they know how in movies. Those actors were playing ficticious versions of themselves.
Something most people don't pick up on is if you wait until after the heist to keep count of the crew members the title makes sense as to why it's called Ocean's Eleven and not The Ocean Eleven.
BJ: If you want to see Don Cheadle in another movie with an accent, you should check out his signature movie 'Hotel Rawanda' The movie gave him an Oscar nomination for Best Actor where he plays a hotel manager who is compelled to allow refugees to take shelter in his hotel. As the U.N. pulls out, Paul must struggle alone to protect the Tutsi refugees in the face of the escalating violence later known as the Rwandan genocide. I believe it is based on a true story, or most of it was.

CLASSIC!! best heist movie of the century. Steven Soderborgh is an elite director
probably the last, hollywood is fuked now
He went all out on Ocean's Twelve, I'll tell you that! Talk about elite direction AND style!
