Hey BJ, back in the 90's, lots of people thought the same that you did, and didn't think Woody Harrelson could dunk. So Woody went on the Arsenio Hall show and dunked with ease on TV with a live audience.
I read that he could dunk 9.5 foot, but not 10. I could dunk 9.5' too at 5'8" and I'm white. lol I could grab the rim of a 10' hoop, but not get over it.
@@gizzys-bigwizzy7629 That was just the social stigma back in those days. It was a harmless one, and obviously there are exceptions, but it was simply born in the fact that white players weren't know for being the most athletic on the court.

Just adding that's the 3rd time for saving the NBA. George Mikan was the first, and then Wilt Chamberlain also saved and kept the NBA from going bankrupt. Both of them truly saved and kept the NBA alive. Yes bird and magic get credit but teams werent dying. They absolutely deserve credit for bringing attendance and interest to the NBA. Just like Jordan deserves credit for expanding and growth of the league. Just saying.
That Dream Team video, my favorite part is when they are talking about going to a topless beach and Patrick Ewing is signing autographs with his wife around and the other players are busting him saying, "You don't ever sign autographs!". Probably the best part about that documentary is seeing all these great players talk about how they bonded.

She was the choreographer for The Fly Girls on In Living Color. Wesley Snipes and Woody Harrelson did another movie together called Money Train.
Asia not realising who Larry Bird is was hysterical 😆😆😆 I loved this movie, especially when Wesley Snipes gets conned so brilliantly… “Swish, swish, let’s go Billy Ho!!!” ✋😁🏀
It's sad that people these days don't know just how much Larry Bird contributed to the sport and how insanely good he actually was, but at the same time it does make it hilarious showing young people his highlights. “Ain’t no thing but a chicken wing on a string!” Always remembered that line. The “We goin’ to Sizzler!”, was another huge quote. Sizzler was a popular steakhouse chain back then. This movie brought people together. It really did. Totally launched Woody Harrelson's career. He was just finishing Cheers when this came out. And this was Wesley Snipe's second sports movie. The first being Major League. Another great one you two should check out. It's hilarious.
Technically, both Wesley Snipes and Woody Harrelson both had parts in the 1986 movie named Wildcats, with Goldie Hawn. That's how Woody and Wesley became friends. They were actual friends outside of acting before doing this movie.

The popular shoe went back to being Jordans.
The great 90's: MTV, FUBU, Pog chips, Tamagotchi, Discmans, Baggy pants, sharing Nokia ringtones, playing 21 on the basketball court, transitioning from VHS to DVD, going to the record store listening to CD's before buying, then playing it loud on the stereo when I'm home alone, this just off the top of my head. Man I miss the 90's!

In the 90s my family drove from Texas to Florida for Disneyworld. We had a white dodge conversion van and plugged in a tv and vcr and we watched this movie over and over on the drive. My favorite sports movie ever. I played bball until 1 year at a small college. 6'1 light skin hispanic and i still reference this movie to this day. And yes I could dunk (back in the day) lol
This is still, to this day, one of my all-time favorite sports movies, particularly on basketball. Wesley & Woody's dynamic on screen was underrated, as was Rosie Perez's acting in this movie. Rosie was extremely talented, not only in acting, but in dancing as she was a well-known choreographer (along w/ Paula Abdul), and she was/still is a certified baddie.
We were a bunch of white kids in NE Oklahoma obsessed with basketball in the 80s and 90s. We loved this movie and watched it several times including one time at the drive in, we weren’t supposed to go to but did anyway and ended up breaking down a getting caught.
@18:07 I have always loved this part of that scene. "I've hustled better players than you before" is such a cold line. And, Wesley's faltering smile as he realizes he has been hustled...that's just great acting.
Watched this 100’s of times as a 13 year old… always got me motivated to play basket ball… and tried to imitate some of the plays.. On of the best movies of the 90’s
The hat is a bicycling cap. They are usually worn under a bike helmet, with the brim either up when its cloudy or down when sunny. They also absorb sweat from the cyclist's brow, keeping it from getting in their eyes and salt blinding them while riding. I own several because i ride bikes a lot. The LOOK company makes bikes, pedals and other bike stuff.
Time is also a pedal maker...clipless type. Worn with the clippy shoes. It's a misnomer from when pedals had toeclips and straps....now the modern type "click" in and seem as though they should be called "clipped", but therein lies the rub....they're named backwards because they developed over time that way.
I had a pair of reebok instapumps about 15 years ago, they were proper dope. They pumped when you stepped after turning on to fit your foot even better than the og pumps imo. I had a pair of puma disc 🏀 boots in the 90s. They were pretty 🔥👊🏻
Larry Bird have some help he had like four Hall of Famer’s on the team but I don’t take away from Larry Bird being great Larry bird was a great three point shooter he was a sniper

Love Wesley and Harris together in “The Money Train” and “The Wildcats”!!❤❤Rosie was a choreographer also! She choreographed “The Flygirls “ on the tv show “In Living Color”!!! Which Jennifer Lopez was starting her career !”
In the 90's Jeopardy came on either at 3 P. M, or 3:30 P.M. in Chicago, where I grew up. I think Dallas is also in the Central time zone, like Chicago and most of the Midwest, so it stands to reason that Jeopardy would be on air in the Dallas area around that same time.
Btw starting @31:50 and on and the security guard, that’s Cylk Cozart. He’s from right down the road from me right outside of Knoxville Tennessee and I’ve met him on several occasion and he’s an awesome dude!
This was a great movie! Wesley and Woody made a perfect comedy team. And yeah, I actually had the same style hat that Wesley Snipes had, but it wasn't because it was some trendy style...that's a cycling cap like the kind you see in the Tour de France, and I used to wear one when I went biking. As for Larry Bird: Great player, but he definitely couldn't jump. But neither could Magic Johnson. Meanwhile Dominique Wilkins could bump his head on the roof of any arena, but Bird and Magic were far better players...because there's a lot more to the game than dunking.
All the talk about the pumps in in the beginning made me wanna tell you that Woody Harrelson is rockin a pair of Nike Air Command Forces, made famous by David Robinson. They got a pump function like the Reeboks. The special "billy" editions go for around 500 on stockx. I copped a pair of the hyper jades, they're straight fire.

Wesley and Woody have made three moives together
Colnago is one of the most prestigious frame builders in the world.
I had a pair of reebok instapumps about 15 years ago, they were proper dope. They pumped when you stepped after turning on to fit your foot even better than the og pumps imo. I had a pair of puma disc 🏀 boots in the 90s. They were pretty 🔥👊🏻
Yeah the puma disc was crazy too
I really good rom com where Rosie plays a very similar, but with Nicolas Cage, is It Could Happen to You (1994)
Absolute classic movie, and hilarious to boot.
Larry Bird is the GOAT. He was 6'10" of pure basketball genius. He was tops in every dimension of the game.
And he destroyed Jordan in the playoffs every single game. Last 3 time in a row MVP in the league!!
Top 3 all time.
But the GOAT? That is Michael Jordan
@@lao5960Jordan also had 0 help and still dropped 63 on Larrys dome in Boston
Larry Bird have some help he had like four Hall of Famer’s on the team but I don’t take away from Larry Bird being great Larry bird was a great three point shooter he was a sniper
@@gregoryharris4674 who won that game?
You guys ever want to see Rosie Perez even younger, look up old Soul Train dance lines. She was a regular on Soul Train.
This is an all time classic that I can watch over and over. Glad you guys enjoyed it! 👍🏽🏀
I watched this on UPN in the late 90s cut for television. 😂
Then I got an illegal cable hook up and it popped up on HBO and I couldn’t believe all the f bombs and mfs 😮
Remember the TV descramblers?
Awww good one Asia n BJ thanks 😊
My best friend and I were 13 years old and went to the 1 dollar theater that summer to see this movie 4 different times ❤ I STILL wanna be like Mike !
Rosie Perez use to be a regular dancer on the TV show Soul Train
Fun! I never knew that! Thanks
I absolutely LOVED this movie as a teenager. My buddies and I quoted it constantly, especially when playing basketball in the alley or down at the playground.
I just picked up my from after shovelling this Canadian snow and instantly clicked lol The Jimi Hendrix scene was always one of my favourite parts
Wesley's buddy at the start was Kadeem Hardison.
All time classic movie here
This is literally my favourite comedy of all time. Loved watching it with you guys. I had a set of Reebok pumps lol White guy here, can't jump 😁
I definetly had the pumps, I remember the pump was styled like a basketball. Loved pumping them up and leting the air out lol.
I had a pair of Reebok Pumps.
I can confirm they did not help with running faster or jumping higher…not even a little bit. 😆
Btw starting @31:50 and on and the security guard, that’s Cylk Cozart. He’s from right down the road from me right outside of Knoxville Tennessee and I’ve met him on several occasion and he’s an awesome dude!
21:58 Raymond, in the yellow, is Milwaukee Bucks Legend Marcus Johnson, aka Michael Jordan’s FAVORITE player!
The biggest shoe trends I remember from the 1990's are Doc Martens combat boots and shoes with light-up heels.
My dude BJ said "Shaq" shoes......I had Shaq pumps back in like '94 or so hahahahaha
I had to go look them up, they were called Shaq Attacks in 1992. 😆
Marques Johnson played Raymond. He’s in the NBA hall of fame
Hey y'all, I haven't seen this movie since the theaters and so this was nice to watch so many years later, and I loved both of your reactions, I was right there with you two and totally loved it! This is definitely one of the best reactions I've watched for any movie, it just made it so fun! I had completely forgotten about the Jeopardy storyline, so sad that Rosie was gone, and super thrilled at the winning dunk, and that jolt if omg when Woody was posing for the hitmen😂 thank you for a good time👍👍
"Raymond" is played by former Milwaukee Bucks Forward and NBA All Star Marques Johnson. He occasionally does Bucks Play by Play and Analysis for Fox Sports Wisconsin, where he won a Regional Emmy Award in 2018.
Far as Billy and Gloria are concerned... Like Sting said, " If You Love Someone, set them Free."
The Woody Wesley chemistry was fire 🔥
I don't know when they aired Jeopardy in Dallas, but in Pennsylvania it came on at 7:30 eastern standard time in the 90s.
Same here in Ohio
Woody played basketball well...he actually taught Wesley how to play basketball for the movie.
@@mikehan7644 yeah. Anyone who played can tell Woody could ball. Snipes, ehh not so much.
This is a classic , I used to watch this movie before basketball games as a kid.
Oh, I smiled the whole way through this. quoting along the way. This is the greatest basketball movie and one of my favourites of all time. btw I wore my Jordan 6s out 1993. Best basketball shoes I ever wore.
