@@paulhord8081 Gpu manufacturers recommend more psu power than what you actually need. Your 600w psu will be fine. Upscaling is important in 2023 not because "more fps", but better antialiasing quality. If you want to get rid of alias shimmering, then at the moment you need to use upscaling...
I bought the gigabyte 6700XT EAGLE with 3 fans on it mid january this year for 475€ back then. I play on 1440p 144hz and on most older games (Dead by daylight, Tekken 7, Skyrim, no mods) the fans dont even start spinning since its below 50°C. With FSR and raytracing I have like 60 fps or so In cyberpunk and it looks amazing. Less fps but still super smooth in the star citizen alpha, but the game is far from being optimized let alone completed anyways, still very demanding and better looking than cyberpunk. Now you get it for about 380€. I think its the best prize to performance card I bought and Im gonna keep cool as my card with its 3 fans for this and a few summers to come, cause I dont think I will need to upgrade anytime soon for my needs.
Thanks for the comprehensive review. I have thought about the 6700xt but I've also read that DLSS makes enough difference to warrant getting the 3060 instead. G sync as well. Curious what your thoughts are? I know video is over 2 months old so may not get seen.
It really depends on the game and resolution used. DLSS or FSR at 1080p doesn’t do near as good for visuals than 1440p or 4K. Another thing I noticed when I tired out VRR is some games, the 6700 XT was so much faster than the 3060 that even with DLSS, it couldn’t catch up in performance. Also, G-Sync or freesync, doesn’t matter. They are both variable rate technology and work quite well.
I do run 1440 144hz monitor and Rift S as well so I feel it will help more so in vr as fsr implementation in say Assetto corsa is pointles as it is crazy blurry. It really is a tough time to decide on a card given the recent issues that v ram is going to pose. 12gb is bare minimum but that 4060ti just seems too high priced. @@DannysTechChannel
Thanks for your reply as well mate, cheers from Australia. I'm currently having random black screen for couple seconds happening every now and then, momentary screen drop out. 1070 feels like it's holding on for dear life haha.
On top of that conundrum is the fact that the 4070 is only another $50AUD more than the 4060ti which makes me want to go for the extra fps but concerned the 12gb vram just won't be enough. Thanks for your rapid replies every bit of info helps. Thanks.
When people put the same fans in throughout the case including the cooler, do they remove the original cooler fans and put the fans of their choice on? (question for building dummies)
@@DannysTechChannel Cool thanks. I'm getting a custom build and feel like a d@ck when saying I wanted 9 infinity fans in a Lian-li o11d mini...then thinking 🤔 can you do that lol.
So I have a 11700f pair with a 1660 super for gaming, the 3060 12gb at Best Buy is $279, will it be worth it to get it for streaming and gaming? I’m also getting a barely used 3070 ti for $400 for another pc build with the 13600k($319) will that also be enough for streaming and gaming? I mainly play apex legends and MW2(rarely). I need help lol I really feel like the 3060 for 279 is not a bad deal
It’s a decent price, especially since it has 12 GB of VRAM. But it’s performance is dwindling fast. That’s why I’ve been recommending the 6700 XT over the 3060. The 3070 Ti will show its age much faster than the 3060 due to the limited VRAM it has.
Either way you decide, you’ll have a great enjoyable gaming experience, quality graphics and both GPU manufacturers offer good enough streaming codecs etc for any streamer to get their online career started!
Hey danny glad to see your growth on you tube.I bought a rig frrom you a few years ago in Surprise Arizona.I entered you to win a 4060 rtx card on Nvidia Geforce.Good luck man. Thanks for the great videos.
A big flaw calling the rtx 3060 the cheapest is that you referenced the 8gb instead of the 12 gb; its the biggest issue with the 3060s that people mixed the 2 because its not just different vram but different performance You mislabeled the section of cyberpunk 2077 1440p benchmarks which was confusing for a little bit
The B-Roll doesn’t matter for the 3060 considering the 12GB models are cheaper than what I showed when I made the video and if you click the link in the description, it takes you to a 12GB model anyway. The mislabeled 1440p benchmark for Cyberpunk was just a simple mistake. I’m only one man. I don’t have anyone to QC my work before uploading.
Hey Danny, 6700xt is impressive, but what about CAD programs? Specifically for modeling in Ptc Creo - ex Pro/Engineer? I'm extremely interested in this AMD card, but should I consider 3060ti/3070 for my needs? Maybe even something older on a used market, like Rtx 2080 Super or Gtx 1080ti?
I’m not Danny but like he said, productivity, nvidia has amd beat with a ton of support in different programs. If it’s purely gaming, not what you said, then 6700 xt is your bet.
Let's say it like this. Nvidia might be better but.... I went with 6700 XT from R9 Fury. (362 euro) brand new As it's cheaper by 100 euro vs 3070 (495 euro) . 3060 was 306 euro. Very interesting video. but I'm looking for a GPU only for one game Flight simulator 2020 which 1440p keeps 60FPS and not below, is RX6700 do the job? thanks
@@kiyanooshC4D The 6700 xt is arguably the best 1440p gpu on the market at its price point. It's not horribly strong at 4k (which I still often play at, only have a 60 hz monitor lol) but 1440p is its strong point.
Flight sim needs 10gb of Vram maxed out so I would say a used 3080 that is a beast on flight sim, or even a 4070 cuz frame gen is worth it if flight sim is your main game

I would also play some games on a 1440p monitor, but that's not a priority for me, since I have an Xbox anyway.
Both have their stronger points. Nvidia has better streaming capability with NVENC but AMDs card has better gaming performance as you can see from the video. Depends what you’re more interested in. Editing depends on the program. Adobe does well with Nvidia for the CUDA acceleration. Other programs might not matter
I went for a 3060 simply because I use a lot of NVIDIA features like Shadowplay and games are FINALLY using more than 8GBs of VRAM, sometimes even at 1080p. In the next couple years I think that extra 4GBs of VRAM is gonna help the 3060 hold it's ground. I also am limited by my i5 9600K so getting a 3070/6700xt just didn't fit my build without upgrading my entire setup. If you have a better CPU I think there's few reasons to not get a 6700xt, especially if you upgrade more often than once every 5+ years.
Your video was very helpful thank you! nvidia always has more features, but amd is always cheaper for similar/better performances. Im shopping around and was about to by a Nvidia RTX 3000 series but its so big that it needs a new pc case. i saw a amd card selling for similar price at a store recently, it was the 6700. and it wont even needa new case! i think i know my decision
ill buy rtx 3060 12gb instead of rx 6700 xt, just because i cant stand reading all those crash, or other issues comments. And the videos "amd gpu crashing" or something like that have dozens of thousands views. I just want to peacefully enjoy games instead of resolving issues
yeah, you got the most interesting set of cards to check the ray tracing hit but ok. People want to know how those "low tier" cards perform especially since Nvidia is supposed to dominate the place in that regard but AMD's driver made up for allot since a half year.
What cpu should I get with the 6700xt? I have a ryzen 5 3600 that runs at 60 degrees celsius when doing basic desktop things. I assume I can't upgrade the cpu without switching from a stock cooler? Which one should I get? I mainly play competitive low settings Apex legends.
I think this might help with a CPU search. Of course it depends on your budget. ua-cam.com/video/DOoJ5Rljn74/v-deo.html And for your hot CPU problem, I recommend this one ua-cam.com/video/_uTxxrv80EQ/v-deo.html
Somewhat misleading. I have the rx 6700xt and 32 GB ram and in a game like Hogwarts Legacy I get 60-90 FPS @1440p / no FSR/RT / high settings with some settings at mid. How do you get 112.6 FPS with that card?
I’m not sure. It’s not misleading though. I played some games and recorded my frame rate. The motherboard may allow different boosting metrics for the CPUs and I used a Ryzen 7 5700x. Might have given me a few FPS higher
@@dalehammers4425 About 25% more frames and he is also using higher graphics settings. Only because of the slightly better CPU for gaming? Must be a NASA CPU with integrated GPU boost.

This year I wasn't really looking to buy any video cards, but Intel was finally getting some good reviews so 2 months ago I had an A750 sent to me and I put together an inexpensive system to test it with. To my amazement the A750 is a really fun card to game with. The driver support is great and the community is very helpful. In my opinion all of these video cards are worth having and I don't feel the need to upgrade anytime soon.
Upscaling is important in 2023 not because "more fps", but better antialiasing quality. If you want to get rid of alias shimmering, then at the moment you need to use upscaling...
And also it gives a big fps boost. That is why I like nvidia more. Dlss is much better than fsr2.
Nice video :) I have a plan to buy this 6700 xt . My current mobo is B450 tomahawk max 2 i have a 750w falcon fgm supply i hope is this will fit.
All depends on your GPU model you choose and your case
thanks for the breakdown
Nice! Thanks for sharing your story
@@DannysTechChannel Thanks for the updated review!
I have the XFX SWFT (or however its spelled) and have ONLY heard the fans (barely) during stress tests or benchmarking.
I have the RX 6700XT Red Devil and would still take it anyday over the 3070, cuz the 6700XT Beat it in everything but Raytracing gimic.
Until you use dlss. And fsr2 is a lot worse...
i buyed directly gygabyte 6700 xt oc edition for only 250$ second hand its so good price :) best choice today 4 1080/1440p
Good video.
I am gonna get 6700xt Merc 319
How's that for live streaming + Gaming?
You’re right. I just talked about the 4060 Ti in a recent video and once prices comes down, it might be a decent buy. But at $500 or $600, it’s a pass
Sometimes. I’ve done that before just to make them all match
@@DannysTechChannel Cool thanks. I'm getting a custom build and feel like a d@ck when saying I wanted 9 infinity fans in a Lian-li o11d mini...then thinking 🤔 can you do that lol.
Haha, nothing wrong with that!
@@DannysTechChannel 😆
Hey! Thanks so much. Glad to see you’ve stuck around and enjoyed being part of the community.
A big flaw calling the rtx 3060 the cheapest is that you referenced the 8gb instead of the 12 gb; its the biggest issue with the 3060s that people mixed the 2 because its not just different vram but different performance
You mislabeled the section of cyberpunk 2077 1440p benchmarks which was confusing for a little bit
What would you suggest if you were in my region?
Cause in my region
A new Rtx 3060 is roughly 350$
And
Cheapest new RX 6700xt is 470$ going upto 800$
Got free game Starfield premium edition with 6700 XT .
Well worth it
And one more thing amd has AMD Software: PRO Edition which is designed for cad and other dev apps.
I wonder what gpu to get that will be a upgrade from my rx 6700
7800XT
Very interesting video.
but I'm looking for a GPU only for one game Flight simulator 2020 which 1440p keeps 60FPS and not below, is RX6700 do the job?
thanks
Possibly, if you're alright with dropping the settings quite a bit. If you're aiming for max settings 1440p you'd wanna go with a stronger card.
I think this price range for GPUs is generally best for 1080p max/high settings.
@@flowersfor.janeYT
I'm going for rx 6700 xf 12gb is the best at moment
@@kiyanooshC4D The 6700 xt is arguably the best 1440p gpu on the market at its price point. It's not horribly strong at 4k (which I still often play at, only have a 60 hz monitor lol) but 1440p is its strong point.
Flight sim needs 10gb of Vram maxed out so I would say a used 3080 that is a beast on flight sim, or even a 4070 cuz frame gen is worth it if flight sim is your main game
thanks for the video iam defiently going with rx 6700 xt cause rtx 3070 price is 750 dollard to 770 dollars here and rx 6700 xt is only 280 dollars here!
That’s an easy choice. Enjoy that extra VRAM too
let us know what you think of your 6700 xt, I love mine personally.
@@dalehammers4425 I'm intrigued by RX 6700 (non xt), it's even cheaper
@@markomarkovic5729 For a reason.
@@dalehammers4425 I need it for work, I do modeling in Creo (ex Pro/Engineer) and have outdated hardware, so I need to get a new PC. I stopped following hardware trends a long time ago and i probably sound like a noob, do you think RX 6700 XT would be overkill for my needs? I would also play some games on a 1440p monitor, but that's not a priority for me, since I have an Xbox anyway.
So what is best for Gaming Editing an streaming? Rtx3060 or rx6700xt
Both have their stronger points. Nvidia has better streaming capability with NVENC but AMDs card has better gaming performance as you can see from the video. Depends what you’re more interested in. Editing depends on the program. Adobe does well with Nvidia for the CUDA acceleration. Other programs might not matter
@@DannysTechChannel Thanks you so much for your time helped alot
If at the same price, which would be better to get? RTX 3070 or RX 6700 XT?
I’d say the 6700 XT simply for the 12GB of VRAM
why rx 6700xt? instead a rx 6700?
Im curious see how the new rtx 4060/ ti will perform in comparison to this generation
So am I!
this aged badly
@@sergiovr3 lol yeah it did, just like the 4060 ti will.

Somewhat misleading. I have the rx 6700xt and 32 GB ram and in a game like Hogwarts Legacy I get 60-90 FPS @1440p / no FSR/RT / high settings with some settings at mid.
How do you get 112.6 FPS with that card?
What CPU are you using?
