    • @electric_boogaloo496
      @electric_boogaloo496 2 роки тому +14

      Agreed. The first gear of the Hayabusa has a gear ratio of 2.615:1 and the final drive is 40 teeth rear and 17 teeth front. So, when the engine is making 114 LB-FT at the crank, the wheel gets 701 LB-FT. 737 lb-ft at the wheel doesn't sound as impressive now, does it? Put a 46 teeth sprocket in the rear, and the Busa will put 806 LB-FT to the rear wheel.

    I worked on some Hydrogen buses for a time. They didn’t actually burn hydrogen but used hydrogen to generate electric and then basically ran the bus as an electric vehicle. The things had two large electric motors that fed into a single prop shaft and it was soo powerful they had to put power restrictions in the throttle control or the 12 tonne bus would just wheel spin 😂😂. Was tempted to turn the restrictions off on the laptop a time or two but didn’t fancy the million pound bill if something went wrong.

      Torque = inertia × accleration in short it is basically accleration dependent or simply u can say twisting force . The thing that we say is power is actually torque . Ppl say that power in bike comes at 8000rpm that means that bike has peak torque around that rpm . Say u have to rev ur bike around a certain rpm to start ur bike to accleration that accleration is torque more the torque more the accleration . For high speed u need max torque at high rpm (which requires high power explained later )thats thats why bikes like hayabusa, h2 ,h2r have peak torque at 12000+ rpm . Cruiser bikes have peak torque at lower rpm
      Even if u designs engine with more displacement u get peak torque at low rpms
      In short
      Power = torque × angular speed (rpm)
      Torque = acceleration ( how fast u can go from 0 to 100 / 0-60)
      If u are really interested study bout dynotest , gears, wheel torques , torque curves and atleast 11th grade physics / up till ridged body dynamics a bit about electric drives (but thats way to advance) if u want to know about electric vehicles .

      Look at it this way to understand torque. You are removing a bolt on your bike. That pull you do to unloosen is torque. And when lose and removing the bolt is horsepower or how fast you want to go and remove the bolt.
      Other words torque gets you going from a stop, even if you are walking. And horsepower is how quickly you can get to top speed or how fast you can run.
      That's the nest way I can explain with out getting a bit scientific on it.

    The idea of a hub motor is interesting... You are taking the heaviest component on the vehicle, aside from battery, that is usually sprung weight and roughly center... and putting it in the wheel where it is unsprung weight and all the way in the rear. I really have to question the handling characteristics of these bikes and how well do they take rough road conditions? Not just the ride quality but also having the motor taking that kind of vibration beating being in contact with the road vs better isolated above the suspension.

    I was hoping a 114ci M8 Harley (notably the Low Rider S) would make it on the list with 100hp and 120ft/lb of torque, and for 19,000$ vs 40,000$……. but the 117 is close enough I guess lol.

    That's not how those torque numbers work, you're ignoring the fact that there is gearing involved. The main things you should be looking at for acceleration is the rear wheel torque and total weight (and the way that it is delivered, electric doesn't need time to shift). The last on your list (H2) makes 1200 ft-lbs of rear wheel torque in 1st gear and 580 in 5th gear while the second one (flow s1) makes 553 ft-lbs of rear wheel torque, because it's a hubmotor. And the h2 will (through gearing) make way more torque at higher speeds due to higher hp.

    The Lightning LS-218 and the Lightning Strike are two different motorcycles.
    The specs on the video are for the LS-218; the Strike has only 88 horsepower but 180 lb/ft of torque; a little more than its older, faster and more powerful sibling.
    Saying the K1600 is boring looks like it’s coming from someone who never rode one… and BTW it’s a very popular bike here in my country and it’s owners are usually no sluggers as the video suggests.
    Finally, including prototypes and “one of kind” bikes on the video seems a little off topic…
